I have an orange 4 and when I recently slackened the head angle by 2 degrees, it transformed the bike. It still climbs well as its short travel and light weight, but down hill it flies now.
I’ve had to fit rimpact and add a bit more pressure to the shocks as it was getting a bit lairy and I destroyed the back wheel. But if I pick my lines and pop over the nasty bits, rather than through them, it’s all the bike I’ll ever need.

I had i23 on my hard tail and managed to rip a spoke nipple through the rim whilst riding the trails round Hebden Bridge, prior to that they’d been Ok.
Think they were the Assym model and not sure how they’d compare to the slightly wider 25, but I wouldn’t have them again based on my experience.

I recently replaced the standard wheels on my BluePig for something a bit lighter (and stronger). The bike definitely feels more spritely, so much so that I’m now happy to do all day rides on it.

    So what was the verdict?

If that pic is with the air out of the can and at full travel, I’d be happy with that. How many times are you going to get full travel in that gear anyway?

I’d recommend you take a look at the Banshee Rune, comes with changeable dropouts and easy enough to swap to 27.5 if the need arises.
Great deals available form Rob @ Bike Active. Got mine with CCDB, Reverb stealth and a few other bits for less than rrp of the frame alone.

sorry for not reading the full thread, I need to post full frame complete with RP23, has anyone found a carrier that could do this. Was going to use Hermes butI think the box will be too big (max length 120cm, max circumference 235cm)?

Don’t fancy a 6 hour round trip. Help!

bet they all have High Rollers and dropper seat posts too. I heard they’re even fitting 50/60/70mm stems and 760mm bars!

OK guys, will probably leave them be then, but I read somewhere that it’s worth changing the oil after the first few rides, then just leaving them.

Just don’t want them to be full of swarf or other crud left over from manufacturing or bedding in????

Cheers Paul, I’ve watched that but those forks are quite different to the coil sprung ones.

I was hoping it would be as easy as taking the lowers off my Fox forks??

Plod won’t be interested unless there’s an injury.

I reported my own accident to them years ago, I was asked if anyone was injured, I said not and was told not to worry about it.
I also tried to report someone who drove in to my wife’s car, after I called him to tell him how much the repair quote was, he then told me he wasn’t insured. Again police asked if anyone was injured and then said, and I quote ‘get your insurers to chase him, they’re better at it than us!!!!!!’

D’oh, just read back my previous post, damn you auto-correct!

Excellent, I’ve got the sticker! I’ll email Windwave about the servicing intervals. I don’t mind servicing them every 50 hours though, still much better than the Foxs they are replacing.

    Cheers for the info wwaswas.

I’m fine with setting the forks up with no guidance, I’m just confused over the warranty and servicing issue. Many people including the OP, have stated 3 year warranty with no service required, but that’s not what the instruction booklet states.

got mine today, the instruction manual is almost useless. It also lists some service requirements for various fluids and seals to be done by an authorised repairer, also states the warranty is two years and invalid if serviced improperly. I assume not adhering to their guidelines would be classed as improper. Bit miffed really!

The only exercise I do is cycling, but I don’t do it for exercise. I do it ‘cos I enjoy it. The fitness it provides is a welcome bonus!

    Not exactly, but…

As I walked out of my last exam after my second year at Uni, there were some builders on site and their radio was playing Cast – Walk away!
Which is exactly what I did and never went back, as I right there, had decided it wasn’t for me and wasn’t prepared to waste a third year there!

My Dad has one that must be about 7 years old and a younger black lab, they get on great together although he doesn’t really like any other dogs.
He’s ok with kids but gives a growl if they’re annoying him, then a quick nip if they persist. But the labrador is soft as snow so the kids usually bother him instead!

‘More of a cat man myself, but if I were after a dog, I’d consider one of these or a cocker spaniel (‘cos they always seem daft!)

Why would you want a smaller chainring with a 9-36 cassette? I reckon 34 or 36 will be spot on.

Anyway, 32T is the smallest you can go on 104BCD cranks

Just taken a Hope out of my well (ab)used 42month old Orange 5, added a bit of fresh grease and stuck it in a new frame. The cups are a bit tired looking, but it’s still going strong.
