As above, maybe you need to get the flue hot before it’ll draw properly.

FWIW- We start ours with a fire lighter and kindling (no paper), thedoor ajar for 2-3 mins. Until its roaring, you can feel the flue heating up. Close the door, open vents. Never had the smoke issue, but it can be slow if its a still, foggy day.

I guess each fire/chimney is diff.

    Wharfedale, Are you in Whafedale??

We have just fitted engineered oak floorboards. They have been laid on top of the original floorboards in our living room (fixed) and on top of Yks flagstones in our hall (floating). Both areas are above a cellar.
Engineered boards don’t appear to expand/contract with moisture from the cellar.

We will eventually get it in our kitchen, when it gets replaced

Supplied by Oak By Design, Harrogate. Fitted by a great joiner from knaresborough.

We have a Morso Badger 5Kw. By controlling the ventilation we can moderate the burn times. A half open vent keeps the give enough flame and heat to keep the room warm & glass clean.

We buy 1 cubic metre of seasoned logs for £55. Its has lasted 8 months, supplemented by random offcuts. Occasionally, we add coal if we want have a warm fire in the morning.

My opinion dry(20% humidity) logs and practice. You’ll get it wired.

We removed the radiator thinking stove would make up for it, but we have now got he rad back on. Its just handy to have.

DBW – That would be a great way end your evening.

Pub wise, I wouldn’t bother going beyond The Shipley Pride and into shipley town centre, the pubs there are sh1t.

    &

Don’t bother with Bingley, crap pubs

Saltaire to Shipley pub crawl – Boathouse / Don’t Tell Titus/ Fannys / The Victoria Hotel / The Shipley Pride – the rinse it in Shipley in dirty old pubs.

Curry – The Agraah, Shimla Spice, Adab ( great dirty curry house).

or do the pub crawl then get the train from Shipley to Leeds

    my breakfast faves –

Scrambled eggs & avocado, with maybe a dash of tabasco.
    or
A minute steak and eggs, breakfast of champs. Might be a tad too much for everyday.

Bolstered by a pot of coffee.

Great bags, mine gets a battering on helicopters and in and out of crappy weather. If your careful and look after them they last and don’t get stolen.

I Guess they’re popular, not sure if that makes them chavvy. I suppose theyr’e chavvy if you don’t own one.

If you don’t like parting with money don’t buy one…Tatonka make a good duffle bag for less.
