My boiler is a baxi duo-tec 24. I’ll speak to the electrician about it, see what he says.

    Cheers

I *think* I’m going to fit an electric shower to the cold feed – otherwise the boiler would fire up every time I wanted a shower, is that right?

They should really cover this shit at school.

Chose the wrong trade tbh, the credit crunch made everyone realise that economics was as much a science as reading entrails and it makes no difference whether you employ someone with a masters, or someone with a pair of dice

Mmmmm….don’t know about that. Trade deficits and inflation still exist, and while arriving at a solution is not an exact science, it’s hardly random either.

Also, accountancy (where a fair number of economic grads go in my experience) is pretty exacting – double entry (quiet at the back), is the same wherever you are in the world.

He’s obviously dropped the ball by not including an NDA in the suite of documents to be signed when you came to your cash settlement. You are not obliged to sign it.

Some people seem to be implying that he is doing this to stop you copying the design. That would not be the purpose of an NDA which only covers you talking about it. From a legal stand point, the substance of the cash settlement (even if not defined in contract)is what would prevent you from copying the design.

    Difficult without full details etc.

Aye it’s a good run. I can’t fathom how someone can do it 1.20 faster – feels like I’m off on the breaks the whole way down. I guess that’s the difference between us mere mortals and proper bike riders.

    That, and the ladies.

Why does it make me laugh so much that his post history includes a thread “http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/show-me-your-marin-quakes-pics”?

Enjoying the use of Big Hitters as collective noun.

It’s apocalyptic in Manchester at the moment.

I’ve pencilled in September 15th for getting back in the saddle, looking forward to it as I’m getting proper grumpy now.

Have a good one tonight chaps

What the hell is it about TJ? why can’t you lot get over him? He’s even mentioned in the thread about toast ffs

Not clue bud, but people seem to be getting quite het up about it. A concise summary for the uninitiated?

Yea, cheers SamB / kcal, that’s what i’ll do – make an ad hoc payment partway through the ‘credit period’ to effectively zero the balance.

Will also take some extra currency just in case, I don’t think the place will be awash with chip and pin machines tbh!

It doesn’t say current account accounts specifically, but it doesn’t look good. Oh well, just have to order more currency than I would have liked to carry around.

Just saw this in the FAQ:

Can I put money on my card to increase my available credit whilst on holiday?

Credit cards are not designed to be used this way. Using the card in this way breaches the product’s Terms & Conditions, which state:

7.7 You must not make payments or transfer funds from another credit or store card to your account that would leave a credit balance on your account. We may return any funds that exceed the balance owing on your account to the account from which the money was sent.

Went from cast to removable splint today, but probably a bit too early for a return.

The last time I was at the Bull (when I came off, and thought it could be healed with a pint), the landlord gave my mate 4 or 5 Agatha Christie books after he spotted her perusing the bookshelf – top bloke!

For those worried about San Marino, it’s absolutely fine – it’s the pesky section after the style you need to worry about. By that point you’re head is already in the pub, just before your face is in the floor….

Some of the men in that opening ceremony seemed to be wearing skirts !!

Quite unbelievable! They’ve obviously not read Exodus 2:45

Lo, unto Adam God said “You shall always wear trousers”, and you shall not worship false trousers

friends just got back from Kefalonia and loved

As I was reading the first bit I immediately thought of Kefalonia. Beautiful island. You can see lots of different villages from a base. We hired a boat and did some free diving – amazing.

Here is the place we stayed:

    Highly recommended.

I think it was little shortsighted of the organizers not to think of this, its pretty well known that Muslims think dogs are unclean

Yep, they should have changed the whole ceremony on that basis. Unfortunately, as a FSM high priest I find fireworks and walking and [insert anything else] offensive, so they really might struggle to organise anything palatable.

As a villa fan and seeing the dross that was served up last year combined with a complete failure to add quality to the squad I would be very surprised if we didn’t get relegated.

I forgot how many tree hugger do gooders there were on here who would opt for that one

Bit confused as to the link between environmental concern and cowardly culture relativism?

you can either decide to learn what these are and respect them or moan about how easily offended they are when you are insensitive to their culture

They’re not the only two option though are they? The other option is to learn about their views, become fully educated about their culture and then continue to hold it in complete disdain.

    That’s my approach.

I meant the actual Kes from the motion picture.

Don’t think it was a jay, it didn’t have that funny pattern on its head.

Are there lots of well-fed pigeons and sparrows to attract predators?

Loads. The bounty of supply is such that I swear I see some pigeons pick the salad out of the left over kebabs.

It was just walking along to be honest. It looked like it had a grey head though?

    Solar by Ian McEwan

Personally I’d give that a big miss. When McEwan tries to be funny he misses the mark. Subtle satire it ain’t.

Massively left field and potentially scoff worthy but a recent thread reminded me how much I enjoyed the Red Dwarf novels. And thinking of goofy science fiction reminded my of Stark by Ben Elton.

Not exactly high brow I grant you.
