I would advise keeping the original avid springs. The last ones I had from SS were too big for the caliper and not snug enough on the pad. The actual pads were fine but the springs were bobbins.
If you lose a court case you pick up the costs. If you fail to get enough votes at an election you lose your deposit….. It seems that the logic didn’t follow through to an ill conceived “congestion” charge. oh well
check out YouTube, I think Sram have some stuff on there that gives guidance. There is a BB7 clip that shows how to put the caliper on and use the tri align bolts. It’s basically what Nukeproff said above.
I have one side superstar and one side shimano rescued from knackered HTIIs. The inner sleeve doesn’t fit too well but i just packed it with grease…can’t be any worse than before.
I got two months (summer) from a factory fitted shimano and almost a year from a superstar (including Hit the north). It’s never both bearings that go just one side…different each time.
I work for a big company who only have third party insurance so if i were to scrape my car on a wall or something, it would not be paid by insurance but by the company themselves…..not sure how this would look on the insurance database as it’s not a claim…..may be worth checking how your company insurance scheme works.
Marin did 13.5″ a few years back but not sure if they still do it now. Also Giant make a 14.5″ extra small in their womens specific frames, still available according to their website.
