The strike off can be suspended if unhappy customers/suppliers lodge complaints. I’m not sure of the exact process but I’d get in now with claims if you’ve got them.

My dhb ones are good, though they seem to have bumped the cheapest ones from their offerings.

Fermented horse milk. Home-brewed, slightly alcoholic, fizzy milk popular with nomadic folks in Kyrgyzstan. It’s as grim as it sounds.

Cheap and easy. I only download 320kbps mp3 or flac so the sound is still good.

Cheapest way to wind up a company is do nothing, Companies house will close it after 3 months if no accounts are submitted. COST TO SICK NOTHING they just get to keep your money and their heads down till the company liability kicks in, unless someone raises a criminal case of fraud or something and lets be honest they are hardly Neil Woodford level shysters are they? They will walk away PROBLEM FREE.

Not strictly true. The history of directors and company owners will be brought up in any careful bank’s customer due-diligence checks for bank accounts and loans so that’s likely to affect any future business plans. CCJs and a list of failed companies would be enough to decline future business accounts at some places. Doesn’t stop is being crappy for the current folks who have lost money in this shambles though.

I’ve found Duolingo really good. I’ve been learning Spanish since the turn of the year and my grammar is pretty good and I can have some basic conversations. It really helps to try to talk in the language as often possible though. I’m lucky that I have a couple of South American friends that I can gibber at.

Can’t speak for the narcissist thing but your mate might benefit from a good counsellor. It’s good to talk to someone that has no bias and no personal relation to the issue and a person with the right skills can help put things in to light that your friend is struggling with. The right questions and a point of view from someone with a degree of separation can put things into perspective.

Coop salt and vinegar for me. Really strong flavour and great texture. Seabrooks made a wasabi crisp years ago that was amazing. Only ever seen it once though.

All of them are pretty normal and they pass so ride it out for a little while. The nausea and thirst is annoying but it’s gone in a few weeks. I found the tiredness a God send as it meant I could actually sleep!

If you fancy branching out into grindcore a bit then Nasum or Brutal Truth would be good. For death metal it’s got to be Deicide.

Starling is very good. Quick and easy to open, no charges for using the card overseas and pays interest. Various other nifty things and features as well. The app is well laid out and easy to use as well as secure.

Hostel in Bishkek, nothing fancy but cheap and well located. There’s a decent coffee shop and a nice restaurant just round the corner. https://goo.gl/maps/n1nDKy5xVDWDDvTA7

You can get Russian craft beer in the local supermarkets that’s surprisingly good as well.

I wouldn’t go to Kyrgyzstan for a leisurely holiday. It’s a magnificent place and the people are ace but it’s not a ‘resort’. It’s very much a place to really get away from it all. The Naryn province is one of the most uninhabited places on the planet. Perfect if you want a good night’s sleep in a yurt heated by poop but not so much if you need a hairdryer. If you’re after creature comforts then it’s not for you. If you want a true sense of isolation and beauty then dig in before everyone catches on.

Kyrgyzstan is the most unspoiled of places I’ve ever been to and I highly recommend it. It’s perfect because it’s so unlike the Western world so go before it changes.

Kyrgyzstan is incredible. I’d recommend hiking to Song-Kul. Head to Kochkor and arrange a trip via the local CBT (community based travel). My girlfriend and I got a night in a home stay, taxi to and from the start/end points, two nights in yurts including all food and a guide for three days for about £90. You’re putting money into the hands of the community rather than your companies as well.

We headed to Karakol after that then hiked up to Altyn Arshan (not sure of spelling) where there are natural hot springs. From there you can head further up to Ala-kul lake as well.

Cholpon Ata Is about the only place that is geared for tourists around Issy-kul. It’s ok, full of Russians and and very commercial compared to the rest of the country. A few days is so you’ll need there really.

Bishkek isn’t much to talk about really. It’s very much am old Communist city with some nascent signs of becoming a bit for Western. Watch out for pickpockets in the market. Otherwise it was pretty friendly.

I can recommend some hostels etc if you like.

Referring to the above posts, Keeping a bypass in Stirling open compared to keeping a major road open in London, it’s a very different level of inconvenience. It’s understandable that organisers would be more keen to reopen a road in London.

Stirling and London are very different places. The disruption to London when organising an event like a marathon is going to be somewhat more significant to Stirling.

I’ve only run one 10k race but trained hard and did ok. The were people walking round over an hour after I finished. That’s 10k!

Got a place on a really good training course that will lead to a pay rise. The only person at work that I don’t like is leaving.

Going to see one of my current favourite bands tonight at a venue just down the road.

They look great but they’re somewhat out of my price range. I think I’m a bit more budget minded on that front. <£50 would be manageable.

Planet Money has some really interesting episodes, the money laundering bank one recently in particular.

The Dream, a series about multi level marketing schemes (pyramid schemes)

Caliphate, New York Times journalist reporting about the Islamic State.

All Killer No Filler. Very funny show about serial killers but mostly funny because of the banter between the hosts.

I’ve been to both in winter, though several years ago. Both were good in their own way. Riga was a lot more unassuming, less touristy and has the best market I’ve ever been to (near the central station, big old zeppelin hangers). Tallinn old town is very pretty. I stayed in the worst hostel ever so my memory is tarnished a bit by that but it seemed pretty nice otherwise. I’d recommend both if you’ve got a week. The bus between them was pretty cheap. The phrase ‘it’s Baltic outside’ exists for a very good reason though. Take a good pair of boots as well.

52% of the country can’t even stand having European neighbours, how on earth are they going to react when aliens come down here, looking and speaking all funny and setting up shops selling that weird intergalactic muck they eat?

I always enjoy riding Cwmcarn. Good XC trails with enough interesting features to engage a decent rider, flat out and fun descents and fairly big climbs.

The new surfacing of the Ashton Court trails has made them pretty flowy, which is fun though it’s dumbed them down a bit. They’re well made though and you can hit the berms as fast as your confidence will allow. They’re not as slippy as they were though, which is a bonus in the wet.

From the door step there’s plenty of good road riding to the north and east, heading out towards Castle Combe. A bit further afield and there’s the Mendips.

MTB wise, Leigh Woods and Ashton Court are just south west of the centre. Decent fun, easily marked all weather trails in both and some good off piste stuff if you know where you’re looking but that’ll mostly be gloop this time of year.

Given there are quite a lot of household medications that contain banned substance there’s a fair chance that lots of riders are inadvertently taking PEDs. Given the previous lack of testing and a general naivety I can see how people fail. It’s not like the pro peleton where they have huge resources and lots of doctors to keep them away from taking some Lemsip* that’ll get them banned for two years. If it’s something like EPO then sure, fetch the bombers and wee in their shoes but it’s a bit crazy at this early stage.

*Just an example, I have no idea of Lemsip contains banned substance and am in no way suggesting you wrack up a line of it to try.

I’ve done it twice, three times if you include taking voluntary severance. I’ve never regretted doing it. Life is too long to mess about being unhappy.
