Are the entry rules different for downhill and cross-country?

Given the difference in profile and funding british cycling have betwwen xc and dh its odd there is such a large team list for dh compared with the xc one.

All is the wrong word, or word i shouldn’t have used.

Paying it all off isn’t achievable but paying it down is but has consiquences.

    sorry for adding to confusion

Thanks for clarifying its not been suggested

Any links on how paying off debt removes money?

My understanding is roughly half of the national debt is in gilts. Which can be purchased without the effect of removing money from circulation

brief primer from somebody that should know.

I guess the difference between running a budget deficit and holding a lot of debt are the key pieces here..

there’s also another piece on what printing money does, as I think it’s been suggested we could just print money to pay off all the national debt.

https://www.economicshelp.org/blog/634/economics/the-problem-with-printing-money/ is possibly another starting point

I think Guide RE’s are the old style Code caliper so expect the avid/sram CPS mount. Basically its a cup/cone washer under the caliper/between caliper and adapter

I think the saint pedals are better than DX. The pins mean more grip when you aren’t clipped in and the height of the clip makes it easier to get clipped in.

Ive used a timecapsule image to selectively restore from before. And from one mac to another. I think I’ve done different os releases but always various laptops.

From memory you get quiet a lot of control about what is restored. The os install on the target mac manages the hardware etc so the restore is in effect just files. You should be able to do the selection dorectly on the macbook removing the mini

I’m sorry but having a go at the landowner without seemingly understanding what a scheduled monument is or the responsibilities around scheduling is part of the reason why mountain bikers get a bad name.

Damaging a scheduled monument is an offence as is carrying out work without consent however there is no requirement for maintenance and while the video wasn’t really focused on showing the monument it seemed to show a clearing. I’d also expect the grass covering is there because it provides some protection.

Lets not let that stop you having a go at FLS for a bikers ignorance though

    It’s wet at the moment.

If I was going to do it I’d just ignore the section behind Kirby knowle and take the road round to boltby.

The fort return climb bit is holding up relatively well as is the piece round high paradise. The descent (Wilkies loop?) is very damp but mostly puddles.

if you’ve still got the connector you might find you just need to buy pins and you can reuse the plastic part. From the picture it looks like the top comes off the connector (will likely just be clipped in place). The pins could be crimp fit or if you are lucky the type where pushing the cable in cuts the insulation.

I’d suggest looking at the molex catalog https://www.molex.com/molex/products/group/connectors but it can be time consuming finding what you need

I’ve been riding a (Medium) V3 rune since March(ish). Got it from Loam distribution who were great to deal with.

Seatpost insertion isn’t huge and the weld fouls the connectamajig on a reverb making it less. If you want measurements let me know and I can provide some

I’ve got procore. I’ve not tried foam type inserts and not had problems with the procore valves. I think procore is wonderful, I can run silly low pressures and not had a rim ding since getting them (3+ years ago) I’ve had one inner tube puncture (Not enough pressure in it) but tyre stayed up other than that just grip and rims without a mark on them.

Yes you do have to watch the inner pressure Weekly but I see that as a fairly small price to pay you can also pick them up cheap on eBay now

Seal heads you can get from maverick suspension in the states https://mavericksuspension.com/products/

As far as I remember Ethan used to work for Maverick Bikes. He was really helpful last time I ordered some bits from him and they came really quickly.

you should be able to spec a new banshee frame with 142×12 dropouts rather than have to buy them as a 2nd set. It also gives you a boost migration path which doesn’t involve a new frame

Be sat down when you get quotes for lime plastering, its more time consuming than gypsum plaster and very few plasterers have the skills to use it. Prices can be 10 times higher per room than for a normal plasterer.

we ended up going diy with it. Depending on wall construction you need to find yourself a good stonemason (we’re on first name terms with ours now)

Yes they’re thirsty on fuel, cost quite a bit more to maintain than the average car but if you do average miles then these costs can balance out when compared to the depreciation of a boggo new car? Even with an older RS car you’d have to be seriously unlucky to match the first years depreciation on a brand new Mondeo diesel. And which would you rather drive day to day?

Whats the first years depreciation on a Mondeo diesel?
After owning a RS4 for 5+ years I’ll say you can easily spend the purchase price on an old RS in maintenance, if you are particularly unlucky in maintenance every 2 years.

The B5 rs4 is getting on for 15 years old and most are approaching 100K miles. Theyt were 40-50K new and are a limited run model, all the parts that make it go/stop/turn/special are unique and are starting to be unavailable from dealers. I can’t admit to myself what I’ve spent on the car this last year (I’ve been unlucky) but it is and will be a specialist car with the associated problems and eye watering bills.

I wouldn’t swap mine and given my time again I would buy another one but if you are thinking of buying something fast/fun do lots of homework.

Sealant will more than likely work but if the weld has failed and started letting air through I’d replace the rim. sealant wont improve the strength of the rim.

Re your car, let’s say what, 280g/km CO2? that’s somewhere around 90 tonnes CO2 since it was new. That could easily have been halved. The savings could have heated an average house for 3.5 years or lit a room for 400 years!

yep, and as you mention I’m also destroying a finite resource faster than the efficient car would. Is total co2 output the most important factor in any desicion? Or only where the effect is seen as being an irrelevance( ie I gain nothing from the car being higher power so the extra co2 is generated for nothing)? Or have I understood it wrong?

    eep
    Full Member

how about the arguement that the fuel consumption of a car is only part of the CO2/resources it consumes story. While I’m sure there are plenty of holes in the arguement there is a school of thought that says the impact of building a car is greater than the emmissions during its life (see the guardian for some maths http://www.theguardian.com/environment/green-living-blog/2010/sep/23/carbon-footprint-new-car)

whiles this is something of justification for my own life choices it does give me some hope my 14 year old 200,000mile car with 400bhp+ isn’t “clubbing polar bears to death”

I may be missing something but wouldnt a more logical approach to the “if non of the parties speak for you” problem be campaign for a change to the voting system to add a “none of the above” box to the ballot card?

If nothing else this would show the establishment how many people would vote if they represented them rather than blame low turn out on apathy/east enders/the weather

AFAIK the 0.0.0.0 is another way of writing default.

I’d guess that rather than being the default applied by the network config on the host it could be applied by the vpn policy.

Could you post up more of the routing table?

given you get this only when you connect via the gui I wonder if theres a “use this as default” tick box option hidden somewhere that you dont have when using the commandline

Just a dslr or dslr plus gear?

If its just the dslr the Lowe Pro attached to shoulder straps of camelbak as described above works well.

If you want dslr plus gear I’d look at either f-stop or dakine photo specific bags (take a deep breath before looking at the prices though)

I thought I had better update this as I got so much support when I first posted that Ippy had gone missing.

Unfortunately she hasn’t returned, I’ve not completely given up hope of her turning up but I know I can’t do anything more.

After a lot of thought we’ve also got another dog. A neutered boy Jack Russell, again a rescue who is just over 3. A dog that Ippy should get along with if she comes back. Meet Alfie, a very different dog but a lot more reliable off the lead and another dog I think we have given a good home.

    Sorry for the late response.

Godzilla, we reported her to Hambleton dog warden the day she went missing (we rang the council switchboard and asked for the dog warden rather than ring a specific number) other wardens in the area were rung in the first week.

Walking anywhere either Stokesley or Bilsdale side of Clay bank will be great. The only possible sighting was coming out of Chop Gate towards Stokesley on the footpath by the road but that was over a week ago. W

Without any other information she could be anywhere I’ve just heard that dogs will do circuits from where they have been lost and I’ve not heard anything that contradicts that 🙁

    no news

Police and RSPCA know I think it might just be a waiting game. Someone she knows is up where we lost her every morning/evening and I don’t think you could miss the posters.

I don’t know whether we should be walking somewhere else but if we should I don’t know where to start Turning up at the same place every day with no real sign is getting very depressing. We have food and some clothes there but no way of knowing if she has even been back there.

Only one possible sighting so far, was out walking the area today and no sign 🙁

I think the hot weather and ample rabbits are more attractive than home…
