Here’s mine, i guard it with my girlfriends life…

Its awesome. You have to let it rip. Weight back and let go of the brakes, then you reaslie just how good a bike it is. And it climbs well too.

My neighbour, a fellow cyclist said his mates bikes were nicked, they broke into his house. The police actually found them though, the bikes turned up in Chorlton near the Water Park. Not sure where my mates mate lives but it is in the southern area of Greater Manchester.

my bikes are tagged with tracking devices, encased in 10′ of concrete at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, and are held in a tight embrace by Chuck Norris

    How often do you ride?

Honestly, Orange 5. For the cash, it was near impossible to keep it in a straight line up the hills, combined with the pedal bob, and the turdish single pivot characteristics….

Probably something as simple as IT band syndrome. Something all new runners suffer from.

    Buy one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PE-FOAM-ROLLER-15cm-x-45cm-pilates-fitness-rehabilitation-UK-/150866495916?pt=UK_Sporting_Goods_Exercise_Fitness_Fitness_Accessories_ET&hash=item23205809ac

    and do this –

Be aware – it hurts like hell! Also google ‘it band syndrome’. Its easily fixed.

    Happy running :)

I blame MRB magazine. Its full of blatant propaganda on 29ers, trying to evolve the bike industry thus getting us to spend extra dollar. My lady subscribed me to it for xmas. I dont even use it for toilet paper anymore.

interesting. Maccruiskeen – I acknowledge your point that its just a state of employment and peoples self employment experiences wouold vary drastiaclly from one to another.

My situation is I have an opportunity to become Freelance and work for a bicycle manufacturer selling bicycles to retailers. I have a background in sales and i have always wanted to combine selling with bikes! I know the motivation is there, cold calling doesn’t phase me. The risk comes from the expenditure it will cost to undertake this task, car, petrol etc vs the gains made from the comission.

As of yet i dont know the numbers precisely enough to do some sums but im researching this. Its also quite exciting becoming self employed and i think it will look good on a CV.

What are your thought on this model?

They’ll be alright if they are careful, just make sure they are aware of faster people behind them.

Tough one for the organizer, they don’t control the weather etc.

I think on a safety issue alone its an easy choice. With a significant number of people proposing to attend the chance of one person receiving an injury thus leading to hypothermia etc is very real.

I spoke to a physio about this last Thursday as i get lower back pain when i stand for quite a time. Cycling tightens the hammies and builds strength in the lower back. She told me tight hammies causes the hips to rotate slightly which puts strain on the lower back muscles. Also as a cyclist, abdominal muscles are pretty much completely ignored so you end up with a muscle imbalance. Youtube/Google lower back stretches, do some exercises to strengthen the abs and stretch those hamstrings :)

Catch 22 here. Need to grow the economy to generate revenue to close the national debt. Need to invest to grow the economy, which means borrowing more, but the country has run out of credit. I’ve said before in a different post as soon as interest rates rise, our debt bill will become too much and we will end up like Greece. Analgous to interest rates rising on your mortgage and you being unable to repay the mortgage.

I have the mech you have and it instantly made my bike much quieter as there was no noticable chain slap. I think it sounds like you have a faulty one.

I appreaicte the product probably is very good. But, i wasted a days holiday waiting for an engineer to turn up, i dont really want to waste another. I was with Virgin previously and they do not need to visit my house to reinstate my service.

Also although it may not be Plusnets fault (ie its Openreach), the agreement is with Plusnet, thus they are responsible!

Thanks for the responses. I ride in the alps in the summer when i get chance. When suspension is compressed grip levels can be huge which is why i find my codes a bit weak, they could be better. elixir 5’s are good, i used to own a pair, but i do not think they hold anyway near enough power. It looks like im leaning towards the saints…

If your new to running, make sure you stretch your IT band after you have finished your run. From my experience when I started running I was only aware of what the IT band is when it started to cause me problems, pulling my knee cap out of place and causing a whole lot of knee pain. This is called runners knee and i believe most amateur runners have suffered from it in the past

Google ‘IT band stretches’ or find some videos on Youtube :)
