Go th the proper bottom of England at Lizard Point it's not tacky like Land's End which is a right armpit of an attraction .Lizard is more understated and the trip round the lighthouse is good for a few quid .Visit the Witchball Inn for very good seafood but watch your head on the lowbeams if you are over 5ft 10
That is not entertainment, watching a load of biffers on a hay cart and the support crew shuffling behind with their overalls and past years badges on?
You will be dropping the bb 25mm but only shortening the cranks by 5mm so clearance may be an issue .I would have thought a child of 8? should /could use shorter cranks say 150 or 155 that would pull another 10/15mm back and then you are only talking 5 or 10mm less ground clearance.
I have watched my son develop as a footballer over 5 years he is still only 10 .It keeps him very fit teaches him team work and builds a network of friends .It teaches him respect and humility (at this age anyway)And it makes me happy to see him do well its a great game.
I have the same thought about skittish horses on the road .It's not fair on the horse or other road users if it's scared shitless all the time. They don't have brakes or off buttons.
I used an older Galaxy as a cross bike and it stood up to the 3 peaks with bog standard touring wheels
Dawes have a reputation for solid no nonsense touring bikes
