The word illegal was used to me by the council not just by me to back up my earlier comment. Also if it's ok to ride footpaths can I put my tent on your front garden unannounced or would that be different?

No I am not I just phoned Somerset County Coucil rights of way team .It is illegal to cycle on public footpaths and you are open to civil prosecution by the land owner for tresspass. The council could get involved if the path is damaged by your actions.

As it's a weaker tube wouldn't it react to power input and stress differently though and therefore not be as springy which you would notice?

If you are correct then an 18/23 hi ten steel road frame would feel the same as 753 if built to the same dimensions and angles?

No there are just to many go getters with a bad attitude riding around who think they can act the way they do in the office out in the hills

It's not in my mind and after 32 years of cycling I think I can tell if one bike rides better than another based on the tubeset.my Ishiwata tubed tt bike is better than the Columbus one I used previously. My 501 mtb feels dead compared to 531.I know my steel frames!

It's people with that attitude that make me wish the hills were empty like they were 25 years ago before mountain biking became a trendy way to show off your wealth

Isnt 4130 just the industry standard code for chromo in the states?I can tell the difference instantly between an old 531 mtb and 4130 gaspipe it is far more forgiving quicker on rough stuff and far less knackering to ride it is far more than just a sticker

No my Overburys Fellrider is a much nicer more forgiving ride than a Gaspipe Diamondback I have

Lets get it straight Cheeky = illegal calling it something else doesn't change what it is.Don't ride footpaths because you piss peopre off, how hard is that to comprehend? Ride on boats rupps and bridleways .That's assuming you can read an os map .Trust me it's not hard!

It rides better ,one of my friends has just changed from a Charge to a Pace 853 frame and he says the ride is amazing He should know as he runs my local bike shop and has ridden most bikes known to man .I can tell the difference instantly between an old 531 mtb and 4130 gaspipe it is far more forgiving quicker on rough stuff and far less knackering to ride it is far more than just a sticker

I ride most places with a collie x pointer and an Australian cattle dog .The Aussie is great and will do 10 to 15 miles quite quickly (he is 4)the 7 year old collie x is usually flagging after about 7 miles .Mind you they run all over the place and chase everything wild ,deer , rabbits etc so they probably run a lot further than I ride.I had a collie x springer before and they have good stamina as well

Thats a lot of wedge to need to guarantee getting in before you start.I can see how you could be in the financial poo without enough riders

Serious question .I always wonder about the cost involved in putting an event like this on as the entry fee is often quite a lot and I am poor and my other half would moan.I assume timing chip kit is expensive and first aid cover. Is insurance really high as well with elf n safety being high on the agenda these days?
