tpbiker has the best answer, if you really need to put anything then write “recovery from ill health” and no further. It’s none of the hiring managers business to ask because what happened 6yrs ago isn’t relevant to how you do your job now.

But if you write a load of shlt about house renovation you just know that the interviewer will ask you about plastering or something and you’ll have to construct a complete load of cobblers and this will be really distracting and put you on the back foot, or even worse you’ll get figured out as a bull£h1tt3r

10gb a month from ee (£7 because I have BT wifi) and I’ve never bothered the limit, I suspect it’s somewhere about the 2gb mark because I don’t use my phone for stuff like strava etc and I don’t car commute

I can also recommend Hebtroco, my wife also has a pair of community clothing jeans and really likes them . I’m wearing their socks at the moment and can recommend

Jeans are expensive because everything has gone up in price , even the crap stuff on the high st is around 40/50quid

I’m in camp ‘car shampoo and WD40’ – as long as the chain doesn’t snap and as long as the front brake works it will be good enough to go

There must be a way of getting back to the main galaxy from that planet like a temple with the connection to the world between worlds, or tennant robot has a story that explains how to do it. Or Ezra will steal the coordinates from thrawn

Hi Pete – sorry to hear, what do your managers say? if they aren’t aware of the disturbed sleep then you definitely should check back in and let them know that and of the problem wards (I bet they already know which they are but  probably stuck with the lack of resources if the rest of the NHS is anything to go by)

Only thing to be aware of with Samsung is that they rapid charge on what seems to be a specific voltage that is different to other android phones, so if your mum has a specific charger hang on to it

other than that, whatever spec/newest model you can get for the budget

So cheating online is rife, but there have been instances of cheating in over-the-board competitions, apparently with a vibrating device in shoes having been found before (and people taking mobile phones into the bogs and checking your game)

the theory is you get a coach with the computer analysis to send the signal when you put your hand on the piece that the computer says is the best move

the beads theory was just someone speculating on social media and then went viral – whether Neimann is actually cheating I don’t know, but it’s got people talking about chess so that’s a good thing

It’s interesting. I find the fascinating bit is the development of the club itself as this is the bit they are really trying not to talk about too much. And yes it’s good for the town to have a successful club. Will be interesting to see how far they get, if Brentford can get into the top flight it’s not impossible for Wrexham to do so, but it’s a big jump from div 1 to championship and then another big jump even to get in the prem…

I’ve got a Fairphone 4 and I like it, it’s not a slim as a pixel but that’s because you can repair and maintain it. No complaints for me, I don’t really bother with the camera on phones because I’m rubbish at photos so can’t comment on that, everything else works fine and because it’s a plain install of Android with no vendor mods you get updates regularly and they work

I’m not sure the likes of Sharon Davies et al have really thought critically about the likely experience of an elite athlete that starts the transition process? Never mind the planning, your GP and so on, the therapy sessions etc, As soon as the athlete starts the hormone treatment it’s ripping up your contract and all the support structure that goes with it, trying to train whilst your body is changing rapidly , the time out of your window of peak years… then you’d have to start your competition life all over again with your new identity so no rankings or fast track. And you start competing and just get the likes of Sharon Davies making snide comments and stoking bad atmosphere

Go and find Pippa York’s interview with Matt Stephens on the Sigma Sport website where she explains how the testosterone levels went through the floor straight away and the putting on weight which is double jeopardy for an elite competitor. The idea that you can transition and somehow carry all the ‘male genetic benefits’ (which to call it that is divisive because women have muscle mass and testosterone too) is just not credible

Well done Hannah for presenting the argument so well

As well as all the good points made above… it would encourage the general public that it’s ‘ok to dope’ and the subsequent increase in heart disease, all the mental health issues – the NHS doesn’t have the resources as it is

Also, I’m old enough to remember the Lance and Big Mig era’s and frankly the racing was boring – because the dope means that the handful of riders that respond to the drugs the best just dominate the races (and before anyone says it, remember the donkeys to racehorses principle, it doesn’t mean that everyone improves equally )

It’s true that it would take some work but it’s not impossible either

Have a presidency – 2yr tenure, why not have it a public application like jury service? The job description is ‘make sure parliament are doing their job’ so that can be a mix of the weekly meeting with the PM only this time it’s all on record, responsibility for the parliamentary standards and privileges and ethics committees etc. Part of the role is to prove that you have no political history like being a MP or councillor. Small support staff, part of the Civil Service. Irish Republic presidential office costs about 5million Euros a year which a sh1ttonne less than the current jokers we have.

The Duchies and crown estates etc are handed back to the nation but they continue to run themselves in the same way but are auditable, the national trust gets the buildings and the staff within them to run in the same manner, added bonus that all the hunting stops straight away, they could rewild the moors etc

“No cars allowed in the centre of Bogotá at weekends. Sounds like a forward thinking civilised place”

GM makes the point at the start of the first episode that they’ve elected a progressive government and are trying to build a 21stC nation – I hope episode 2 (and 3?) focuses on this a bit more

If the US admitted to itself that the war on drugs is unwinnable then that would give the Columbian govt the tools to get a grip on the production and root out the criminal element….

And yes major cities across the UK could do the same if it had the cojones

that looks cool ! apparently when you are changing strings it’s easiest to remove one at a time (but of course the first time fitting that isn’t an option..) or use a capo to hold in tension while you wind onto the machinehead

The GC gaps are also a function of the best two riders having strong riders supporting them in their teams and once they have pulled at the front they drop off, so I’m not worried about that.

I think that either Tadej has a virus or he’s paying the price for the interrupted preparation when he broke his hand.

The TT did feel like a little the bad old days but there doesn’t feel like all of the other unbelievable efforts of team mates, randoms from other teams are happening like the lance/mig eras – and the riders having a bad day is the stuff that we didn’t see so that is another indicator that the current riders aren’t doing stupid sh1t, although they may well be flexing the rules as much as they can flex

if you are bikepacking with that person, you are spending all the time with them – even with a mate there is the risk of getting on each others nerves, especially when tired hangry  – tent each gives both of you a mental break

I got a neutral pair of Asics and liked them enough to get something similar also by Asics when the first pair wore out, but I think that unless you know you’re a clear pronator or supinator then most things would work ok

the old ones are used for general wearing while the newest pair are running only

“his Belgian team mysteriously failed to turn up in Paris when he was poised to take the record from Merckx.”

He he, but in reality no, because Morkov was there and clear but Cav wasn’t on his wheel, I think he dropped off on purpose to surf wheels and try and outsmart his rivals but got boxed. I’m not sure if I want to see Cav do one more year I think we all need to give in to the idea of Cav not  being around even if I don’t like it.

I agree that I can’t see Puy de Dome being used much because it’s too much like a timetrial and there are better climbs, a lack of crowds is not something the tour organisers are keen on and I get the feeling the riders were pretty underwhelmed

He’s a sociopath like all the others eh, we knew this from his time in politics and clearly mirrored in his personal life.

I’m more hacked off that Ed Balls has started a podcast with him (not a fan of EdBalls either btw) which is just labourwashing his horrific political record – remember how he was booed at the Olympics for the disgusting changes to the disability assessment scheme he was responsible for?

26in, 36spoke are pretty big factors also. Also the fact that because they are disc brake, the rim doesn’t lose structural integrity because you aren’t weakening it with rim brake block wear. But loaded touring isn’t to be underestimated

No schools have budget for Macs (everything in school is done through chromebooks) – and the vast majority of business machines are windows. stick with Windows

get a refurb from these people, so much better than just sendbacks from Dell, they have teams that rebuild properly and check the hardware before retailing

You don’t see onstage amps any more because everyone uses in-ears . Slash will probably have old-school valve amps in the back to get the sound but they will plugged into quiet speaker cabinets or similar to go into the PA/onstage mix in the ears

my friends got married and generated a new surname – one Patchman and one Marchwood became Patchwood – but I think just generating a completely new one could also be good

Having no surname would be a right pain trying to fill in forms on the interwebs because a non-response in the surname field would generate an error message everytime…

A Team by us as well – which means the van does quite a patch if they do whitefield and right to the other end of prestwich; I wonder how the sales patches are agreed, is it a council managed scheme or do they have some form of secret meeting place with a mafia Don Whippy ??

I watched that – thought it was pretty funny that he bought a Valvestate and one of those WEMs and ran them both as a rig that made it onto the first album, nowadays players probably wouldn’t admit to liking either of those amps . His story about Johnny Roadhouse music is true, it was a proper madhouse back then and hasn’t changed much since, its a lot more organised now.
