Another one down…. discovered a crack on the seat tube brace weld on my XL raw frame. I really love this bike but there seems to be a lot of failures.

Ouch! I hope Banshee sort you out. I think they do a crash replacement policy for out of warranty frames?

Will be checking mine thoroughly tonight!

Thanks. Exactly what I needed to hear, I’ll get one ordered!

I use the 10 speed 11-42 with a X9 mech without any any mods, think I just got lucky!

smokey_jo, How are you finding the 9 speed 11-40? I’m thinking about fitting one of these to the old hard tail.

Thanks, I really need to try one and will hopefully get to demo a Stage 5 later this year if I can get to a demo day.

I’m hoping I can run my 26 wheels in a 27.5 frame for now and upgrade over time. For some reason I quite enjoy slowly changing the bike as you ride it until its perfect!

That’s what I’m hoping from a 29 wheeled Five. I haven’t really been impressed with the couple of 27.5 bikes I’ve ridden but that could well be the bikes & not the wheel size!

Last year we bought lift passes for the whole of the PdS area from the main desks under the Les Gets lift. We based ourselves in Les Gets and used the lifts to ride over to Morzine, Avoriaz and Les Lindarets. Try to get over to Les Lindarets if you can, definitely my favorite place we we rode all week!

I’ve had a couple of the Pendle fork mounted carriers for the last 7ish years and they’ve been excellent. You need a different adapter/mount for each hub type though and I don’t think they currently do a boost mount.

*edit: Looks like they’re discontinued as there’s a new model coming!

Not as many as I thought. Looks like I’m a bit of a hoarder though as I’ve still got most of them as either frames or full bikes….

Ouch… I’ve just fitted a pair of these bars so would love to know if it was damage or did they just snap at the shifter clamp?

I bought a 3R MIPS to use on a trip to the Alps. Didn’t find it too hot in the 30c heat we had while there and wore the chin bar everyday. Had a face plant on the first day and was very glad I had the chin bar on, definitely saved a trip to A&E!

I’ve used it as normal without the chin bar since getting back and its been great. Fits my head well and don’t notice its there.

Hadleigh is way to short to ride for a full day, I’m normally bored after 45 mins. You could make it part of a longer XC route but you’ll need local knowledge.

I would love a frame only to replace my ageing 2008 five, although probably second hand with that price!

I much prefer the way a single pivot rides to the Horst/multi-link bikes.

We stayed in Creekside-Whistler for a couple of days on our honeymoon last year. The wife doesn’t ride but i got a morning pass as it was my birthday. Hired a Rocky Mountain and rode over to the lost lake trails for some amazing trail riding. Ending the ride on the shores of the lake was perfect. I would love to go back to explore and ride the park.

Whistler can be expensive but like others have said it depends where you go. Fat Tony’s is good for lunch and you can save costs by cooking your own food if you have an airbnb. Whistler Brewing Co beers are very good!

Finally getting a dropper post and understanding why people like them so much. Converting to 1×10 has also been a revelation.

I had the exact same thing earlier this year. The freehub bearing closest to the hub collapsed. Hope asked me to send it in and they returned it a couple of days later all fixed.

Took mine out for a test last night and I’m getting a lot of brake judder on the front. Headset and the caliper bolts are tight so I’m going to swap rotors tonight to see if it cures it. Anyone else having any probs?

I think mines a mk2? Huge improvement after fitting offset bushings and 120mm Reba’s. Feels like the perfect bike for my local woods but still more than capable with Wales/Peaks trips.

    I don’t think so:

‘The term ‘motor vehicle’ is defined in section 185(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and section 136(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as “a mechanically propelled vehicle, intended or adapted for use on roads”.’

I used gorilla tape in mine. It fit perfectly & the tyres went up first try!

I was struggling with this last night! The marker is a small ^ shape sticking out on the inside of the chain ring. I’ve fitted mine to the middle of a triple chainset no probs.

My 2006 Super Light. Could do with a slightly slacker head angle but so much fun to ride.

Riding home this evening, I noticed they’ve set up a park & ride at the New Holland tractor plant in Basildon. Maybe this is the site they’re on about?
