I’ve just been ‘upgraded’ to a Surface and i’m not enjoying it. Seems slow and runs very hot, everything just feels like its slower. Hopefully work will let me keep the Lenovo Thinkpad and send this back!

My previous Thinkpads have never let me down and were only replaced when my employer sent me a new one.

Does anyone want one of those Bell Super DH helmets in large before I send it back? It’s definitely too big for me.

I fitted a couple of the metal Durapost’s last month to extend an existing fence. It was a lot easier than fitting concrete posts and hopefully a lot more durable than wood. It’s too soon to tell if they’re durable but haven’t been damaged by the recent wind.

If you want a classic 2d style Mario game get Mario Wonder. It’s brilliant and you can play it with your kids, my 4 year old loves playing it!

I ride through it on pretty much every MTB ride as its on my way to the woods. The cows are fine and are used to MTB’s so mainly stay out of the way. There’s dogs and walkers everywhere though, usually trying to climb a rock garden as you’re coming down.

Some parts have been closed for a couple of years and others are really overgrown. The parts that are open have very loose gravel, not the best place for inexperienced riders unless you stick to the shared green route. I live close and only ride it in the winter when I have to.

Ordered another set of isotopes yesterday when they came back in stock and they’ve been delivered today. I got a set when they first went on clearance in November and thought that was a steal, now I feel like I’ve practically mugged superstar! Really nice set of wheels for less than a pair of rims.

Our greyhound hides on the sofa whenever theres anything scary like the vacuum or fireworks! Have you had him long? We’ve had ours for 6 years and still find small things that freak her out even though she’s not a shy dog.
We find it best just to let her go to another of her beds if shes not comfortable, which is usually when the 3 year old is being a bit loud & boisterous.

I found the virgin router to be terrible like you’ve experienced. Kept disconnecting from the work servers and teams call quality was abysmal even though I was getting 100mbps on speed tests. I bought a TP-Link AX1800 and put the virgin box into modem mode, it’s been rock steady since without any drop outs.

    Definitely replace the free router!

I’ve got a XS that the Face ID has decided to stop working on so I was planning on getting the 14 Pro. I’m just struggling to get over the price…

    The purple is lovely though!

I’ve had my SolarisMax for 2 years now and I’m still in love with it. I don’t find the steering floppy at all with the forks set to 140mm running 29er. Had a lovely ride today with the little dude on the shotgun seat, it’s perfect for my local trails too.

My other bike is a Bird Aeris 145 and I usually end up taking the SolarisMax instead!

    Get the SG @Sharkattack!

For some strange reason Chipps decided to sell this lovely thing and I haven’t been able to put it down or stop looking at it since! My bass guitars are now starting to get dusty.

Thanks and congrats on getting that lovely strat!

I know that battle well Chipps, I keep thinking about selling my Thunderbird but it just has too much character. I don’t play it for weeks but it brings a smile to my face when I do.

Silent lurker here but have been reading this thread with interest for that last few months and you’ve all inspired me to pick up the bass again. I’ve even started messing with a £25 Squire Strat I picked up locally and really enjoying it.

If I had your budget guitarhero I would be looking for an SG. Always fancied one since I saw Tony playing one in Sabbath.

Anyone tried one of the recent Epiphone SG’s? It’s our 5th wedding anniversary coming up and apparently the theme is wood!

I’ve always preferred the sound of Ashdown amps to Fender and they can usually be found very cheap second hand.

I’ve got a 65w FiveFifteen I’m going to list on eBay this weekend that I don’t use anymore. You’re welcome to it for beer money if you’re near Essex.

Rockrider ST900. First pair lasted around 5 years of constant wear and all weathers before the saddle wore a hole. Light, stretchy, zip pockets and a good fit.

Probably G30, might be able to tell if you post a pic. Unfortunately the newer Half Jacket 2.0 lenses won’t fit the old model.

Revant do decent aftermarket lenses if you can’t find originals.

Thanks for the feedback Kimbers! I’ve got one on order.

Has anyone used the Ibex or Canis as a rear tyre?

Really not sure it needs a steeper ST. I’ve had mine since March and have never struggled with climbs or having the front wheel lift even on trips to Wales. Feels more efficient than my Bird Aeris with a steeper seat angle!

Just figured out its only happening on the ‘Overview’ link. The bike and chat forum headings are working fine.

I’m also getting this when clicking on the forum links from the singletrack homepage on my desktop. Doesn’t seem to matter if I’m logged in or not. Mac OS High Sierra running Firefox.

Sounds like that could be a good compromise Kelvin. I really like how it handles and trucks over rocks with the 29er wheel.

So after taking a battering on the rocks at Afan this weekend, I’m thinking of trying a 650B plus wheelset. Does anyone find that they provide more cushioning than standard 29 tyres?

The bike felt really good with 140mm forks though and even beat some PR’s that had been set on an old Orange five.

Thanks. This is my first 29er and love how the wheels roll when they get going. Being in the south east we don’t have rocks, just mud and roots!

I’m on a L in dark metal with orange Hope bits running a 140mm McQueen and a flat bar. The forks came set at 140mm so thought I’d try them as they are first. Still deciding on how many spacers but normally like a small saddle to bar drop. Might try a small rise bar and lowering the travel once I’ve had a few rides to settle in.

Do you prefer one over the other bungalistic?

I’ve only had two rides on 29er wheels so far but can’t see a reason to change.

Thanks kelvin! I’ve ordered a couple of those bolts the00 linked which should fit and will order a spare hanger when Cotic are back in stock.

    edge85

I also think its a very good design as in theory you should only ever have to carry a spare bolt instead of the whole hanger.

    edge85

Thanks the00. I might just order a couple of those but was unsure if the whole bolt was threaded as there isn’t any threads on the frame, just on the hanger. I managed to loose the top half of the screw in the crash so no idea what it looks like!

So finally got my SolarisMAX built, went out for ride Thursday, crashed and managed to snap the derailleur hanger bolt….typical!

Emailed Cotic but they’re away for the weekend and looks like they’re out of stock of the hangers at the moment. Does anyone what the spec of the bolt is as there seems to be a few x12 options out there?

I ordered a pair as I was hoping for the same but couldn’t fit a 29×2.3 tyre in, which is supposed to be the same diameter as a 27.5×3.0.

Thanks for the advice, 29 it is!

The full sus is 27.5 so it will be nice to have a change.

Good to hear, was thinking of using 29 first. I’ve got a pair of boost hub wheels coming so just need a fork now.

Would love another Mattoc in 29 flavour if I can find a pair for reasonable money.

Thanks to this thread I’ve got a lovely dark metal frame on the way!

Need to find a set of forks and decide on what size wheels to use first. What is everyone running? Are you preferring 27.5+ or 29 so far?

When mine snapped in the Alps, I replaced it with a standard Maxle like this

Seems to fit perfectly and still on the bike 6 months later!

How technical/challenging are you looking for? The Hadleigh black sections are probably the most challenging in Essex but I get bored quickly there.

Danbury has some good jump runs.

I can show you a good 15 mile loop around Langdon Hills with a few rooty fun sections but 90% of it is cheeky!

I’m in the South East and don’t know anyone in retail earning that much. My wife used to be a concession manager for a large clothing brand and earnt a lot less than 23k!

I’ve got Prizm Trail in my Racing Jackets and they’re awesome lenses. Really boost contrast which helps me see everything a lot better. I also use Prizm Daily’s in another pair of Oakleys which are very good. Definitely give them ago if you like contrast lenses.

That might be an idea GeForce! Although if I could have got one for 50% rrp I would take it but mine is second hand.

Chief, noticed any difference in how the new one rides compared to the old?

2013-14 I think, older version without stealth dropper port. Any ideas of what else is like a spitfire?
