Don’t know why you guys engage with Nifan. All he wants to do is wind you up. I feel sorry for him tbh. Clearly he’s upset in the real world to want to choose to come online and behave the way he does.

We already have a (potentially) dangerous drug legalised – alcohol. Responsible for alot of domestic abuse, violence, deaths due to drink driving, big part in some rape cases, plays a part in many cases of the neglect of children, too much rots your liver, responsible for heart disease etc.

My point? It’s a socially constructed narrative regards which drugs are evil and dangerous. Some people talk about current illegal drugs as if they’re worse than alcohol – they’re not, it’s just we’ve been told they are bad and have accepted alcohol as a norm of society and choose to ignore all the bad stuff that happens as a result of drink.

A perv, a megalomaniacal Fascist and a con artist enter a bar together. The bartender looks up and asks, “What’ll it be, President Trump?”

    Everyone is allowed an opnion.

But, if you’ve never been in the armed forces and/or combat, how can you judge fairly? That world is completely different to civilian world (physically and emotionally).

Remember, if you’re a civilian (with no direct links to people working in the armed forces) your opinion is just hearsay, media talk and second hand information.

Have I read this correctly (yesterdays paper)?

Richard Dyson, one of the high profile Brexiteers (who has alot of his manufacturing made abroad and outside of the EU so a bit disingenuous really) is now appealing to Theresa May to not apply immigration limits to young European engineers so he can employ them in his business.

If that’s true, how lovely he encourages people to vote Brexit but doesn’t want it to to apply to his business.

I think poetry is the way forward.

    The people have spoken,
    With voices ignorant and loud.
    We’re abandoning humanity,
    I’ve never been less proud.

Brainwashed by the far right, a victim to your fears
How did you mark your ballot with your fingers in your ears?

    A little island voted Leave
    And drifted off to sea
Headed for the Lands of Grief
    With Hate for company

    That was a cracking day.

Just seen on my Garmin that I did a lap more than I thought (five in total so happy enough).

Also I see I’ve starred in JonClimbers top 5 crashes (I’m the second one down from the top). I’ll be keeping that one.

Loved the marshalling – your sign MrSparkle was great and the relentless dancing from one lass was very cheering.

Great day out and the family loved watching it too.

Why is BPW seen as different to any other trail centre? Just seemed like a normal trail centre to me with the grades (red and below) being consistent to any other I’ve been to.

OP – I went back to 2x because I wanted a greater gear range for my long distance rides. I’m sure someone will have posted their spreadsheet demonstrating how 1x can match 2x (but the best 1x systems cost more). I was not willing to spend the extra money on the best 1x to solve a problem i didnt really have since 2x gave me what i needed.

It’s a funny fashion 1x. Lots of people do it but often at a compromise (less slick gear changes, missing high and low gears, cassettes wearing out quickly, having to push up steep hills etc).

Also, everyone on this forum is anonymous and no one knows how each other rides, how fit, their version of a long day, trail centre, mountains or canal tow path etc. It’s only you who’ll know if it’s right for you. Try it and see how you get on. You might love it.

When she’s driving off the cliff, maybe she could improve her environmental credentials by recycling her home office bus, with the writing on it’s side telling immigrants to go home. Be a good use for her nasty bus.

Although I guess she can tell them to go home legitimately now by saying it was the voice of the people.

I think the smart phone is genius…It’s my diary, my satnav, emails, food diary, MTB navigator etc, it’s a handheld life organiser..I’m not glued to it (not on Facebook etc) so in no way gets in the way and is turned on silent when family time/meals etc.

One of the better techno inventions of late imo.

At least we now know what Brexit is for. The money being saved (NHS £350m) is to be used to revive the Grammar schools (same amount supposedly being put aside in the budget next week). :D

Ages 15 – 28 I had a very high usuage of drugs (fully functioning adult holding down good job etc) but definitely gave me anxiety issues. Saw counselors and stuff. Took quite a few years (probably 10 in all honesty) post no drugs to get rid of my anxiety issues.

@thm…Can you point out where I said it wasn’t a legimitate vote? Just because there’s a popular phrase trying to legitimise making up facts ,doesn’t mean you have to do it too.

be for the leader of HM Oppostion to simply ignore the result of the vote?

Ignore what? That less than half of the voting community voted YES. What’s so difficult to understand?

It’s why the Lords have just said NO to triggering Brexit. They understand it even if you don’t.

    edenvalleyboy

Yes ignoring the result of a democratic process is a guaranteed winner!

The (existing) democratic process that enabled Brexit to win was based on less than half the country saying YES to Brexit (due to protest votes e.g.defaced voting papers).

Your a statistician THM. Less than half. Under 50%. So that means more than 50% could well have been opposed.

For such a big decision I say that’s pretty weak numbers to be doggedly sticking by the whole ‘it’s a democracy’ argument if you’re truly opposed to it. I don’t think being afraid to stick his neck out is one of JC’s traits.

the labour party will never be forgiven for its betrayal/utter stupidity in waving it through, totally unopposed

It is this act that seals it for me that JC should not be where he is. If he was someone who believed in equality, community, workers rights etc he would be going down fighting on this one and be opposed to Brexit all the way.

Cant feed em, dont breed em.
    I blame the parents.

Interesting comment from someone who doesn’t have children. I guess you wouldn’t understand how the issues may arise that put children into poverty and hence the words you wrote above.

What I find unsettling is that at the same time as the most vulnerable being forecasted to suffer more, the pensioners are going to be 8% better off. Yes, pensioners are vulnerable too but many already have a very good pension pot.

Any coincedence that the groups of people who keep the Tories in power are seeing better living standards, whilst the most vulnerable are made to suffer?

Inequality is rife in this country.

We live in a technological age so being an ace on computers is no bad thing.

If that’s his passion can you somehow expand it into a way that will help is education/work prospects.

As in, if he was an ace at a sport you would probably be encouraging him to be the best at it he can. Do the same for his computer/gaming passion.

He may have different passions to you but it doesn’t mean it’s negative.

Edit: Gaming is very much a social activity for many people. Just a different way of being social.

If you have a roof over your head food on the table and reasonably good health then all is good and it’s something to remember (when everything around us is geared to telling us we should want want want more stuff). Many many people in the world do not have a roof, food and good health.

How can Nifan be accused of being anything? His STW persona is to pick at others posts whilst never making a personal opinion/statement of what he/she believes.

Nifan must be pleased to have this happen. Likes to get a rise out of people.
