    Easily the most used bike.

But, I use it so I can ride from the house into the Peaks for a few hours at a time and keep fit. CX bike has definitely improved my Mtb fitness.

Don’t use the CX bike for rough stuff, see no point.

I’d have a road bike if it wasn’t for all the cars, so a CX bike for me is a safer option. I can go on the road and around the forest tracks, bridleways etc. Places I wouldn’t take the Mtb because I’d feel that was overkill.

Yes – it is bad to eat red meat every day. I thought this was common knowledge these days.

Clearly no normal person would vote for a Marxist. Normal people don’t support a system that requires millions to die.

You clearly need to learn about the various political ideologies – because that statement demonstrates you presently don’t have a clue.

    Ugly, expensive and pointless.

I feel like I’m being mean wrting that but you didn’t have to post on here about your purchase – so I feel it’s fair game. 8)

Noticeably visible the increase of homelessness in Manchester.

How sad considering the UK is one of the richest countries in the world.

Cheers for the replies – made me look at it last night.
Whilst the spoke felt it would fall out because so loose and bent, I did manage to tighten it and it seems ok for now. Think the whole wheel could do with a tighten I guess

Stick with it. It’ll work eventually if you persevere. The telsa tape is cheap and allows you to use loads if necessary. Also, an airshot makes life easier and you’ll not be annoyed at wasting any money on co2 cylinders.

TC’s aren’t for me but I’m glad they’re for other people. Means I get to have my time in wild spaces kept relatively peaceful.

I think it’s wise to do them more frequently (FTP test) so you start to normalise them a bit.

You’re right. Did FTP test this morning and having reflected on the previous couple of tests where I blew up way too early, I changed my tactic and managed to produced an increased FTP I’m happy with and know reflects my fitness. Only a little bit of vomit along the way. :D Don’t feel so intimidated about them now that I can see it’s all about technique.

Do other people fear doing an FTP test? I dislike the idea of resting for 3 or 4 days (in preparation for the test) and I also know it’s gonna hurt. I always put it off. Is this normal behaviour?

Stick with it – XR4s are great tyres imo.

I have a pair of leathery type workman’s gloves for fitting tyres. Means I can really wrestle with the tyres without hurting my hands.

then proceeded to hold us up on the DH we’d worked hard to get to the top of.

I think this is what upsets you OP. You feel you have worked harder than them and they’ve cheated somehow.

Gravel King SK tubeless here. Very good imo.

Not using for CX racing – just a mix of road and offroad in and around the Peaks…

Gave up drinking in the new year. Best thing I ever did – feel so much better for it.

OP – I think you can’t see the wood for the trees. Have some genuine, honest reflection on the situation.

It seems quite obvious to the objective outsiders what the issue might be.

Managed to get them setup up tubeless and ridden on fine.

    Cheers for all the help.

My magicshine light is maybe 4 years old…still going strong. Well built piece of kit.

Would buy another if I needed to.

Caadx felt perfect but no rack options.35mm tyres max probably?

I was looking at the tyre clearance the other day on my Caddx – it looked like 40mm tyres would fit. Has anyone actually tried it and found 40mm don’t fit?

Also, they’re new wheels with rim tape already fitted. Maybe I need more rim tape?

    Cheers for all replies.

@yak. I may be being stupid here but why would the tape lifting mean air would escape through valve rim hole? I.e. surely the air will escape under pressure through any hole possible, so if there is a gap in valve hole it would leak air irrespective of rim tape issues?

I prefer the balanced wholefood diet, combined with correct amount of sleep and exercise. Works perfectly. No need for diet fads.

    I’ll buck the trend here.

I have a Cannondale Cadxx 105 – great and recommend.

    BUT,

I borrowed a mates Whyte Friston for a 100km tour of the North Yorkshire moors and found it amazing to ride. I recommend that over my Caddx.

Wouldn’t buy a Pinnacle Arkose – I thought they were really boring to ride.

Ever wondered why men die at a younger age than women? Have more heart attacks and stress related illnesses? That has alot to do with being the masculine provider and it kills men. So I’d argue that masculinity in 2017 can have some damaging affects.

Only problem I’ve found is that when I make a bar to the nutritional content I want e.g.a 4:1 ratio of carbs to protein and the 55g of carbs an hour I use, the bars are quite big and not so easy to carry 4 or 5 hours worth when not using a bag.

Therefore on long rides I use homemade maltodextin and whey powder drink to get around this.

To OP’s question though. Yes. I’d never buy a ‘bar’. I’d make my own (some great energy bar cookbooks out there).

I’ve no time for religion. Many people get hurt by it and people excuse this oppression of others by claiming “it’s gods way.’

I picked an 800 off here a few weeks ago. Having full UK maps on my stem (instead of using viewranger on phone) has made a massive positive change to my rides. I’ve started exploring more because I don’t have to stop to get phone out to check where I am.

Worth noting – I’m taking about riding my CX bike.

If your daughter can swim the Olympic pool is great – it has leisure pool with slides etc. Good family space to muck about and have a laugh in the water.

Mmm it was ridewithgps that didn’t like me plotting the bridleways. Maybe I had the wrong settings/maps on when I went offroad.

Trail centre days are always forgettable for me. Days out in the countryside however I remember. For this reason I rarely visit trail centres.

Science about gender is mixed and conflicting because presently, once a person is born there is no way to get around the fact that a person’s surroundings influence everything they become.

I bought the new model and it failed after three rides. Imo it’s a poor deign. I then bought the KS Exa-form speedup post and for same price point far more reliable (just doesn’t have a handlebar remote).

However, I wouldn’t think the speedup would be good in trail centers where you’re constantly using the dropper post. It’s more of a post for the hills where your using it less often (long ups and long downs).
