Horizons have been very good on the dry trails we’ve had. I’d like to try the byway for a slightly more British use window.

They are great. The ride down the embankment is nice. Around Paddington and the parks is also nice. Go past buck palace and the big money houses plus down Whitehall and Big Ben is a buzz.

Not sure where froome is this year at all. so little racing.

I do predict Contador to finish nowhere but animate the whole race.

she articulates sod all and speaks for no one. Don’t dress her up as some right wing social commentator.

She has no agenda, no ideology, no politics other than self promotion. never has.

She just takes contrary and sometimes (well often) offensive opinions on anything and everything just for self promotion. She has been a useful generator of clicks for a range of employers but there is only so long she can be useful for. there is probably a random Katie Hopkins opinion generator somewhere on the web these days.

Just watched that, she was patchy but probably did enough.

Far too much made up stuff about the other parties though. Is it about time can we had a yellow and red card system in these things like sport?

i know its politics and and you get spin, straw men, the odd miss spoke, tricks of language, etc. etc. but can somebody not be totting up the half truths or lies about other parties policies and once its reached a certain level issue a card 2 half truths = yellow and final warning, next one you’re off? outright lie straight red?

it pees me off and its all political parties who do it.

in the past, 4 of the climbs have been 80% road, 1 climb has been a push and carry up a muddy valley, tyres make no odds on the climbs. to date its always been dry so any tread has worked on the downs. The enduro ratio du jour of 32/42 will be fine.

not a fan of Kuenssberg. Shes seems to be trying to be the story rather than report it. Shes seems to cock up with all parties.

Life’s complicated. I’d like the media to give more space to allow Politians to give complicated answers to questions.

A side effect would be that something would have to come after ‘strong and stable’… and the what comes after is far more interesting.

We’ve had spin under blair and project fear under cameron, then fake news with brexit. Maybe the next innovation for elections is an actual flippin debate with some actual policies. :?

the internet also means they can look at the computer at ‘what they have in stock’ whilst frantically typing ‘wtf is HT2 Bottom Bracket…’ into google.

please please go into the blackie boy and say you’ve come from sunderland and are looking to explore geordieland and let us know how you get on.

more seriously centurion to start when you get off the train then either:
    – stay around station: town wall, forth, tilleys, bodega, maybe trent house if you can be arsed with the walk.
    – quayside way theres the bridge hotel, crown posada and the bridge tavern, maybe the brewdog place
    – or leg it over to the ouseburn for a hipster vibe and a range of new and old pubs in a derelict wasteland.

theres a great cycling cafe called faustos on the sea front. they’ve just moved to bigger premises. the rest punches below its weight. it has a large northern town vibe despite being a really big place and officially a city.

So much anger and baggage in this thread.

In roadie terms raphas branding is pretty humdrum. What about attaquer, mapp, PAS normal studios etc. then? If Rapha causes so much frustration they must be off the Richter scale

    Erm. That business strategy wasn’t a secret…

I think Rapha have made a lot out of cycling but also put a lot back in. They have supported domestic racing in uk and us from really early on and their events like supercross were in the right direction. They do seem to have knocked the outgoings on the head with sale which is a shame.

Veloflex master are sooo supple, fast and grip forever. Not in anyway long lasting though. Clement tyres generally are very good. Used a few of their cross tyrescanf tubs. Another vote for the new corsas. Impressed so far.

groundhog day and lost in translation. They don’t really have a plot just bill murray showboating for an hour and a half, thats always watchable.

blues brothers and trainspotting got some hammer as a student

i watched mad max and get carter as a double header once on TV far too young as a kid. blew my mind. can always watch those again.

watch roger rabbit 100 times and try and find fault with any of the animation, its an absolute masterpiece and all pre cgi.

they don’t quite boil to 100 degrees so your tea doesn’t brew quite right and they don’t have a big enough tank to provide more than 6 or 7 brews in a row. They are useless for anything more intensive than a cheshire show home. That woman is cleverer than you will ever know, if i could still use a kettle at work i would.

It’s still a very trump approach. 2 years of saying he won’t bomb and being friendly with Russia and then, nah, bomb em, screw Russia.

I hope we all now feel safer.

Re sagans crash, surprised it doesn’t happen more. It was mental on that hill. Must’ve been 20,000 pissed and sunburnt people.

Gilbert and boonen looked strongest each time through. I think Tom looks good for roubaix

shouldn’t we now widen the presence of regularly pistol-armed police?

no. because then you arm the next ring, and the next ring and we end up like usa. i think what this has shown is that parliamentary security works very well. he got, what 20 metres in? There isn’t enough armed police in the world to protect the average person on the street from these random attacks or maybe MPs at home like Jo Cox.

the owners of the race are ASO. they don’t care about a pro conti british team with nice jerseys. now wiggins isn’t ridding its just a uk development squad. they were never really in the picture i suspect. They’ll have more chance with ToB.

oh bugger it i can’t resist

**** the 48%. They lost. Is it such a hard concept to understand.

no the 100% lost. its just the 48% were right.

    ah that felt better.

People are dicks. People who get cross at 2 minutes of rolling road closure are dicks no question. People who get cross at Full road closures for Micky mouse events I have some sympathy with. But there are ways of dealing with it. people who then go nuts at marshalls or drive at Competitors are dicks.

i was going to say that with convoluted cable routing on TT bikes a hydro brake would be a big advantage. but then I saw its cable operated?! Cables plus crap routing? I bet those brakes are awful.

I was never a member of the Raleigh club until a couple of months ago.

I grew up in a neighbourhood that had a communal Raleigh chopper though. We all had our own bikes, mine were all Halfords and Townsend rubbish, But this chopper just used to hang around. I guess it was someones older brothers or something. It was too small, rubbish as a bike but great fun.
