I like the icons. Anything else gives a sense of certainty that is false.  I miss the isobars though. But  don’t get me started on titling the weather map

It’s the middle class middle management jobs that are more likely to go where AI can do 90% of the analysis and decision making.  ‘Robots’ I.e computers, are better at thinking.  Easier to leave humans to the fine motor skills. IBM already have it with Watson.

‘We can’t get rid of Dave he’s been working in x for 30 years no one knows x like Dave.  He’s a wizard.’ Just get Ai to shadow Dave’s every report, email and decision for 10 years (5, 4, 3? Less?) then it’s ‘**** off dave we know what you do now’

google Death of the middle class. Big problem for western democracy when there’s no upward mobility, no dream to sell.

the pros have the fins to guide the wheel in for 8 second wheel changes from the team car.  you have it because the pros have it.

The grub screws are to hold the pad in but on some holders and not others.  you might find it handy if you get some undersized refills but you probably won’t.

It’s a grey area whether thEy aren’t really part of us, but this is interesting:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41906470

even if they aren’t part of us we accidentally invented the conditions for this all to happen.

    ooops

10 year warranty on furniture and you think that’s a good thing? 🤔. Stuff you sit on takes a beating but everything else should last longer than that!  I’d question the sustainability of a chest of draws that falls apart in 3 years and a kitchen that looks a bloody mess after 8.  Not an Ikea fan.

I have to say I was scared and astonished by the figures in the new geometry at first but then when I factored in the stem the large with a 35mm stem is the same size as my modest steel hardtail with its 70mm stem. Not scary at all really.

If you’re an idiot get on it!  It’s right up your street.

As a way to make an unpleasant aspect of cycling even more expensive it’s great.

Guardian published a list of who attended the last one if you really want to know. Philip green and vernon kay only famous ones I think,  others all very rich but anonymous city types.

but yeah who’s been in the past and is looking a bit sheepish I don’t know.

Or alternatively you and your mates have a ‘mare at the start and loose an hour to punctures. Then the trails are clear without any rushing. In hindsight the descents were great that year,

Thud buster is overkill. You kind of hover over the bike and support your weight on your feet like dovebiker said. You get rest too. It’s a bit like intervals. Few minutes on cobbles then 10 minutes on the smoothest glass roads with the most considerate drivers you’ve ever seen then repeat. Sigh

You will loose all the feeling in your hands though.

Oh and the banks on the velodrome are really high.

Evie racing U23s I think, but if she wasn’t the woman’s elite would be the strongest nationals in the world I think. Screw Belgium.

Apparently chlorinated American eggs need to go in the fridge. Or something. Ours don’t. The moisture breaks down the natural seal on the shell and lets the germies in.

And Jam is jam. It’s never gone away?? But if I am horribly out of touch and if it has, I await the hipster craft jam revival coming out of a shoreditch mk1 transit van in the coming weeks.

Not sure I understand the question if you are just using it in the turbo you will go numb. Turbos are a stupid artificial environment I wouldn’t worry about it. If you are riding outside for just an hour and getting numb then yes somethings wrong.

Potentially I’m doing the exact same thing at any given moment of the day. I don’t feel bad.

Oh that would be a good experiment you know, is the cat dead, is it not, if it could be either could it actually be both? I’m surprised no-one has done this before.

    Listed building?

No permitted development rights and you may need listed building consent as well as planning permission. You will need what the local authority tell you you’ll need. Ask them asap. There may be a fee for advice. But in the big scheme of things it will be nothing. Especially as listed building consent has criminal punishments if you get it wrong. Enjoy being a custodian of the nations heritage.

Yes. Horizons and resolutes. Loads of room. Horizons were great in the dry summer for road, railway paths, shooting roads, moorland doubletrack. Amazed what they could do with no shoulders. Resolutes were fine. Like a thin mountainbike tyre. They are a bit small and there is room for more. Made the bottom bracket a bit low. There are lots of similar treads around in a better size. I’d like to try a byway.

I had this. You never want to be knocked off but when I was they were really sorry sorted everything out and looked more upset than me. Didn’t tell police as saw no need. Also a bit paranoid in our car loving democracy police would somehow see it as my fault. Regret it now, feel like I should’ve used 111 and at least got the accident recorded for stats.

Interesting. Giro could be the best attended tour next year. That would mess up the hype machine around the tdf in this country. Or is he going to try the double?

It’ looks to have some degree of organisation and looks scary. Unmarked vans Away from the office but knew where they were. They looked to have some extra locks. Enough men and vehicles to get in with some force and shift 3 vans of stuff. 8O

I still can’t take this expose seriously when it was broken by that beacon of truth and light the daily mail.

When all you report is lies and misdirection, all day everyday, about everything. when you hate cyclists.when you hate public funding. When you hate murdoch who sponsors successful publicly funded cyclists, and your chief sports writer suddenly come across a national scandal in cycling!!! …and 2 years later it all fades away to nothing due to lack of evidence. funny that.

goes to put tinfoil hat back on. makes you think etc.
