can i just say that Heywood is not in Manchester. Thank you

having got that out of the way. UKIP are scary as they don’t actually have any policies on anything. but this seems to actually be an asset for them. People on the left and right seem to be able to project onto this blank canvas what they would like the party to stand for and then vote for that imagined position.

i think they will come second in a lot of safe seats next year but not get many MPs

Theres an irony that the bowlers clique is the inverse of the players vs gentleman (who tended to be batsmen) problems that cricket laboured with for so long.

Anyway, his gripes seem to read like the lament of the last man left from the 2005 ashes era ‘That gang were the best, now they’ve all gone, no-one likes me anymore, and we are playing rubbish, whats the point…’

finally it seems somewhere in all this Ian Bell just bumps along in the background

On one are definately doing a 29X3 you say? thats brilliant news.

i heard they were going to be tubeless ready, triple compound and all this for only £17.99. If they were to do any less than that now it would just disappoint everyone.

not sure a 1920s house will have a proper cavity for insulation. it might have two faced walls rather than a solid one but the gap in between wont be like a modern cavity.

that step up wont be much. take your fastest 100 mile pace, knock 2-3 mph off it, aim for that and keep stopping to drink tea and eat cake and you’ll be round easy in day light and wonder why you haven’t been riding road like this for years. its great. :-)

Sam (or anyone) are they both tubeless ready and folding bead?

And is that your kickstarter price?

theres the lance thing and of the mainstream manufacturers they have always been the most boring and they killed bontrager, fisher and klein (sob)

But the positve is the crocket looks a proper frame for cross with nice details (welds, seatube slot, hidden mounts, paint) carbon fork and good chainstay and seatstay clearance.

I thought they were leaving the top bit alone?

The bit from the the lower cave to the the lake got terribly washed out this spring due to blocked drains.. I met a ranger moaning about the damage and did my bit for our bit of the trail users spectrum telling him please don’t fix it it’s bloody brilliant. As of June they hadn’t but it’ll happen I’m sure :|

I think 18 Bikes have tried CST in the past.

I’ve always found maxxis the cheapest of the major brands anyway. Thats why everyone buys maxxis isnt it?

    eddie11
    Free Member

    Suck it up.

The pricing is ‘inspirational and aspirational’.

You don’t HAVE to buy one.

All responses I’ve received over the past few years re massive price increases.

Don’t start complaining now that the manufacturers have started targeting those with a bit more cash.

But but but ITS A TYRE! a maxxis tyre! a thing thats designed to wear out from a large mainstream company in a rim size we’ve had for decades but just a bit bigger bead to bead.

I live in the western world, i get set up costs, niche premimum, brand engineering etc. but this is like ford suddenly charging ferrari prices for a stretched focus.

    :?

    edit:

Chronicle’s will be £59 or £69 depending whether you go for the 60tpi or 120 tpi casing. Due mid October. Not sure where the £100+ price has come from, but they aren’t.

Thank god for that, the world hasn’t gone mad, i’m off for a lie down in a dark place

Oh come on you can’t compare the frame to a consumable item like tyres. Please advise me what I should spend in oil or inner tubes?

I simply don’t understand this. It’s maxxis. I was expecting £65 tops rrp. Are you sure that’s not for 2? That’s why it was exciting maxxis were moving in. They would be bringing costs down. Sheesh. Not really feeling the industry get behind 29+

Can you still get marathon race?

about 30c but come up small. Seem to be lighter and faster than the heftier marathons in the range. Still no 23c race tyre but ride better than the equivalent gatorskin in my experience.

You are aware scotland have their own news and weather already aren’t you?

To be honest the current after news forecast is useless for anywhere north of the wash because of the extreme persective they use.

It would be interesting to see if any particular towns in Wales, NI and NE England have zero GVA

You cant measure GVA at town level, you cant really measure it at a level below country but you can get a decent approximation down to regional level which is what you see in those figures.

But I would not be surprised, but would be disappointed, if there were were towns that have had zero growth in GVA per head over the last 5-6 years due to a combination of recession and this governments policy decisions.

To be honest I’d look at glass half full. I wish they has known core stability wheniwerealad. He can swim, run cycle etc as other muscles overcompensate. this works fine for a while but will trap nerves, lead to gait problems and bam sciatic pain and bad knees. He can manage it and in 5 years time hell have core muscles 10 times what his mates have got.

Sympathies with trying to get a 4 year old to engage properly and plank etc. for more than 2 secs though.

The bridleway in little langdale near the big quarry has been widened and flattened. Terrible for mountainbikes but probably just the thing for families and kids.

Whitley bay is indeed a rubbish spot for mtb, I can offer no hidden treasures unless you like riding steps to the beach.

As most said its a drive west or north to anything ‘local’ but when you get there it is good: Hammers, blanchland etc.

Cos nationalism and idividualism is a bit right wing (uk) and internationalism and cooperation (Europe) is a bit left wing. We’re like the original odd couple.

Less sarcastically I wonder why they care so so so much and think we do too. I sometimes wonder If europe was all i had left to worry about id be doing alright.

‘I think the athletics is quite pleased that cycling distracted a lot of flak from their history’

i think (road) cycling doesnt help itself either, it loves to tittle-tattle about doping. Its the default gossip when theres when its a bit quiet, like football loves a good moan about its referees.

Atheletics doesnt seem to do it, people get caught (sometimes even in jamaica) they are admonished, people move on, the wider sport remains untarnished, doppers never seem to be presented as symptomatic of the wider sport.

(actually what do atheletics fans talk about, stride patterns?) :?

I once lost a massive hardwood front door for a fortnight with much frustrating calls to courier and shop. Only found it because same courier did a ninja card drop for another delivery even though i was in. Chased him up the street and then got to back of the open van and said ‘where’s my parc… Hang on that’s my door!’

Looking at state of it It had just sat in bottom of the van all that time as no driver could be bothered to lift it out.
