Embrace the nerves. It’s the body’s natural reaction to a big event. It’s to help you be on your toes and be alert. It’s so cave men didn’t get eaten by a lion when they were hunting for lunch.

You’ll never get rid of them so focus on making sure you’ve got the basics right like training and kit and eating. Do those right (or even if you haven’t make your peace with the fact it’s too late now so you are competing with what you have got) and you’ve just got to worry about doing it right on the day.

This is a soft tail, which gives you a max. of 32mm rear travel, without the need of pivots. This keeps the weight down and the titanium frame can handle such flex with easy. I have never gotten it to travel 32mm, maybe 5-6mm at the most, given that I am only riding roads.

Technical is a good question. It’s a different kind of technical of off camber banks, steep ups and downs, stupid daft mud. What makes all that doubly technical is the speed you try to take it at. Trying to ride someone off your wheel or force a mistake without blowing or falling off yourself.

Price? My guess is 450 for the frame and a 1600 full build that will come down to 1200 in all the shops at sale time and only then will look vaguely reasonable

Cyclocross is turning into the winter sportive.

erm, cyclocross is a real race. 😈

As it gets more popular there are more and more go cross races where these rules don’t count.

But if you do a regional race you are technically in the pyramid to nationals and worlds and some people there genuinely are so you need those rules. There are only 6 (?) naitonals a year so the regional races see a lot of properly good riders between times. And that’s what’s so great for me is that this is a real race and they let knackers in too! you get to hack around mid table at the same time as some real proper riders are duking out up front.

there is absolutely no where you will get lost, need a map or require a sat nav for navigation.

if you are at the front Rob Jebb has done it before he will show you the way.

If you are further down the field there will hundreds of riders in front of you, hundreds of helpers and marshalls everywhere. The whole course will be busier than glentress on a sunday.

eddie11 » What is Scotland’s policy for maintaining row? And has it changed after the act?
Rights of Way still exist in Scotland but they cover only a tiny fraction of the routes used. The LR(S)A did not introduce any additional burden on landowners to “maintain” additional tracks and paths. What it has done is to encourage the use of unlocked gates rather than stiles (particularly important for horse access).

    Thanks

What is Scotland’s policy for maintaining row? And has it changed after the act?

I also fear the approach to bridleway maintenance of many English councils expanding if all trails got the same status with every trail becoming a 1m all user path covered in planings because that’s bikes and horses need right?

Open mtb are just starting. I don’t think ‘a campaign to ride on footpaths’ would win many friends. A ‘pilot of Scottish access laws to support the tourist economy and promote public health’ is what you want 🙂

as lovely as it might sound to live in a listed building I’d rather let someone else be the custodian of the nations heritage. I think you really need an interest in old buildings beyond just wanting a house. If you do buy it don’t be an arse and speak to the conservation officer. Worth noting that listed buildings consent is in addition to normal planning and sanctions can include criminal prosecutions if you smash the good bits up

French Revolutions is a bit try hard at the beginning but either it gets better or he grinds you down. The Italian one is more even and still funny. All IMO of course.

go to the old pier cafe in Lochranza greatest cake and pastries in the world. As for the riding
You’ve probably got it Sussed from that list, Arran mountain bike club have some routes and have done some trail building which are ok but a lot of it holds water. The southern bit is not extreme at all. I’ve not ridden goat fell area
But looks as if it should have somebig Scottish hike a bike in it. In summary old pier cafe.

To be on the safe side I just put everything in the recycling bin and leave it to the plastics and paper technology experts in the recycling plant sort it out. If in doubt put it in. As I’m unqualified I don’t think its my place to rule things out so early in the process.

Watching the HIGHlights, and MJ at full steam. At what point does fast bowling simply become a chuck???
    POSTED 35 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

I’ve not seen the Aussies but I’ve seen broad on a streaky spell and the windies quicks live and real fast bowling is never a chuck, it’s amazing. It looks a whole different level. That step up from80mph to 90 is vast and something tv never really captures.

Have you spoken to officials or your local ward councillor? Latter will get it fixed quicker but alas the easiest answer is to suck it up and fix it yourself as you have discovered since the recession councils really really really aren’t bothered about stuff like this anymore if they ever were.

But he’s not the best climber and tt in the world is he? If he was on his 7th Tdf win I could understand these comments but he’s won one Tdf and podiumed at the vuelta. He rode like a sack of xxxx all last year. He’s put in one attack on the first hill of the tour. Hes got a good palmeres but nothing more. Also sky has won 2 grand tours and messed up a vuelta for its £40m a year. Is that really a super team?

I’m going to bite. What do you mean froome and co? I could understand the comment about Millar, valverde, contador, Riis, basso but who’s the druggy gang froome was rocking with now or on previous teams? Jullich, Yates maybe but come one. Do we need the barguil, Yates brothers to have a whole career and leave. How many generations of riders before you decide it’s ok again?
