After 12 hours of debate MPs are going to get bored and grizzly. Someone must make reference to Cameron’s porcine dalliance. 🙂

Unclear point and lack of punctuation. But let down by lack of caps lock, no swearing and it too short. 4/10

Hyrds are very good. On a par with sram hydros albeit much heavier if that’s an issue.

Ironically the success of the Nissan Sunderland plant is based on low cost and efficiency and out competing the rest of the Nissan Reno plants for the next model. Basically the business model the Far East first used against uk firms. Very little r&d happens there and it’s not got the greatest links to the local supply chain. It’s very different to the niche high value sucesses elsewhere in this thread. Part of the reason it’s so efficient is everyone is shit scared it will go if it isn’t.

Another point is that the the importance of manufacturing and where it is in the value chain varies within the uk. If you are in London and SE the future of manufacturing might not occupy you much. In the north it feels a more vital and important issue.

I’m looking at the reality, not ‘statistics’.

erm, maths is a strong foundation for a manufacturing economy, that could be your answer just there. 😆

    4 things

manufacturing in the UK is a fraction of what it was even when the last labour government came to power never mind before thatcher

For 20 years we have as a country fetishised business and financial services above ‘the real economy’ when its arguable if it is socially useful

manufacturing keeps getting more and more productive so it employs less and less people for the same output which means that manufacturing is a far less prominent in many peoples lives than it used to be. You are less likely to be in manufacturing or have a mate or their dad in manufacturing than you used to.

If you take the long view china are trying to shift to consumer economy and be less export led, India will follow etc. and they will be less able to compete with us on cost meaning that manufacturing could reshore back to western countries and of those western countries how well placed does the uk want to make itself compared to germany or USA etc.

garry lager – the latter, after the leaders have done a lap or two they work out how many they will complete in an hour and countdown from that. It get very confusing, youll be lapped by some not all and sometimes you are convinced you’ve been cheated out of positions but it only really happens very very rarely. Main thing is if its a long lap it can make a difference to how long you race, just get lapped at the wrong time your bell lap before the winner and you be out there for nearly 1h10

Does your league have timing chips? that really helps.

I ran smorgasbords on duallys all last winter and they were really good. Grippy and allowed low pressures. Smorgasbords had a really good shape. This was because my duallys were 12 months ahead of my rooster. Ahem.

    In order of care:
Cross bike: I pressure wash (I know! OMG!), washing up liquid and hot water, degrease all transmission, re-oil all transmission, Teflon spray on mud collecting areas
Road bike: really cheap baby wipes
    Mountain bike: oil the dirt.

I feared when I clicked this I’d have to rant about CX bikes not having mud guards, panniers and generally commuter crap. But no, we have a real CX bike, with a proper CX chainset, proper tyres and no unnecessary paraphernalia. It’s great to see and it’s a lovely looking bike.

Splitting hairs it’s still not got tubs 😉

They are sorted frames crocketts. Really good mud clearance and no chainstay brace on a race frame. It’s s ruddy miricle.

He’s the best at the minute but lars has the edge on him on courses that suit him. Remember the world champ is out at the minute and I still think there’s a big neils Albert shaped hole in the results.

I’d be interested to know how old people were in here before they realised they were dong wrong?

I used to bash around the tracks near my house and further a field with my dad and then with my school mates. It simply never occurred to us we were doing wrong. You didn’t ride some paths as they were rubbish or muddy or had too many stiles but not because they were footpaths. It was late teens before I got my head around OS maps and then came the baggage of knowing I was doing ‘wrong’.

As long as kids can’t read OS maps the future of mountain biking will be fine.

Gourdon +3. Nice and slimline. Good harness. Doesn’t hit a helmet. Fits a laptop. Keeps stuff dry. Very cheap.

I feel a bit sorry for that Ferrari they weren’t obviously being a massive dick, just blipped it a bit to make a nice noise with their new toy and off into the gutter. Stuff like that Subaru is on another level. That’s funny.

What gets me is ‘so called Islamic State’

    What’s with the so called?

It is what it is and they are who they say they are. Stop trying to belittle it on title. Retarded reporting. And every night, we get an opinion rather than the actual news.

    Argh.

because many more legitimate branches of Islam feel 1) its not for them to declare a caliphate or 2) what they are doing in this caliphate is not particularly Islamic. many other countries are refusing to recognise their claim to this title at all in their reporting.

……and this is why, when driving a car, you should never run over a scouser on a bike.

    It might be your bike.

the 18″ looks great, why did they stick that little strut on the seatpost on the 19.5″, why not a straight top tube? really makes the frame messy to my eyes.

Don’t read so much into it. Fresh goods Friday is harmless way of stw levering their huge website teach to get free stuff

The up side is we the customers get to see stuff we have already seen at places like eurobike, manufacturers get to showcase stuff that they have already shown at places like eurobike and all the only thing lost is singletrack’s credibility.

    Everyone’s a winner.

    Oh hang on 😉

It makes me sad that all culture around bonfire night has died off and the crap around Halloween has come from nowhere in the last 10 years or so. In my kids eyes Halloween is up there with Easter and Christmas and I’m utterly baffled.

Roads? Where were going we don’t need… Roads

I know that’s in the first but I don’t care. I love these films. From a time when blockbusters weren’t shit.
