It doesn’t sound a lot but I *think* it makes a difference to my bike. Drops the bottom bracket a smidge so the whole thing feels less tippy too.

There’s an all night garage at the big car park down the bottom end and some greasy spoons that open early at the north end. Don’t try and sleep in the beach it’s really cold.

I know, but there’s a difference between spouting shite and shouting spite.

Good work sir. Is that one yours? I may ask to borrow it.

They forgot to remove this from the Bahookie pages:

As with all of our bikes, the frame is manufactured by us in our workshop in Central Scotland

To be fair it looks as if they paint it in scotland. May be they could offer the painting service for, say, £250 and people can source their own frame from aliexpress and everyones a winner.

clement MXP when i did it. They come up big which is is helpful and have a reasonable centre tread when run at 65psi or whatever stupid pressure i used. Forget to enter this year. i am an idiot.

I get all my poc helmets, assos jerseys, Oakley sunglasses and fsa carbon parts from there. Its great prices, miles cheaper than the major online uk sites.

Same goes for omitting Steve Cummings.

He’s been talked of as an outside favourite a few times given the hilly course and his repeated stage wins on hilly courses all year so going as a leader not as a domestique. For him not to go does feel cliquey

I know it’s not the point of the thread but they would be good if they did I bet. Their Christmas cake is ace, best thing they do.

only a partial answer. I’ve been but not to watch a race. the road is wide and gentle on the valley floor until the covadonga monastery then it ramps up really steeply but its narrow like a dales or lakes climb, not a lot of space either side, not like the alps. the monastery is the last civilisation until the top. The best bit of the climb is the first 2/3s, after that it descends again into a bowl past the lakes. from the TV there never seems to be any crowds there. Then it climbs a little with an uphill sprint round a bend to a tiny wooden cafe at the top but thats it. its no alpine ski resort. cangas de onis is a pretty sizeable town for supplies.

I used flow ex on the three peaks but probably overkill, they were borrowed from a 29er, but they gave a lovely shape to clements and no punctures :-). For just riding about open pros on your hub of choice?

How we ended up with such levels of self-hatred is beyond me.

South Yorkshire police might have had something to do with that one.

Nothing wrong with a firm handshake but people who don’t meet Palm-Palm but somehow clasp halfway down around your knuckles. I hate those people. Every time it happens I feel like stopping the shake and asking them what they think they are doing.

you make the mistake to assume that that house was ‘designed’ in the first place.

Planning process just changed last week with the planning and housing act. Not entirely sure of the details but I think they’ve moved them all out of nsips and back to lpa decision. Wales And Scotland are different.

Jesus. 1987 called it wants its petition back.

fireworks sales have never been stricter. Fireworks used to last for months with kids mucking about now you’re lucky to see any even on bonfire night. it’s been blown out of the water by Halloween

when they first started a few years ago it was a full refund. I guess they have made a name for themselves and are extracting their full market value now.

Is it only the tdf peloton or are other pelotons allowed?

I hope it’s not massively over produced idea free zone like an Browns late stuff. I hope it’s not a plodding indie idea free zone like all of squires post roses stuff. I have a faint hope that with Reni on drums it’ll at least have some drive. It’s the hope that kills you isn’t?

Crown posada, free trade and Cumberland arms awesome pubs untouched for decades.
Town wall and the bridge (the one next to the akenside) for new pubs but done well and decent beer.
Grey street and monument good to look at.
You’ve got to have a mooch down the quayside and a ride in the lifts at the Baltic.
El torero for good tapas lunch.
Vieri Velo bike shop and a bit further out pedalling squares bike cafe are decent.
    Don’t really go to Durham.

its why hardknott is such a freak show of a climb for me. It really is at the margins of road riding. Its so steep and rough. How many gears do you have to bring before it all gets a bit daft?

Did rob jebb win then? I saw him at the beginning so was a bit surprised I thought it was only a sportive. That’ll be 3-0 to robb then in our head2heads. I’m sure he’s keeping count.

Was a cracking event and so many people come out to watch, help and cheer. Can’t praise the organisation and marshalling enough.
The lakes is a truly glorious place to ride any kind of bike.
    It was damn hot today.
Hardknott is just a freak show farce.

All parties are nationalist parties – unless they believe in abolishing

Erm… Labour traditionally aren’t. The internationale and all that. I think that’s a noble position which I support but they are being battered by populist nationalists in every nation at the minute, and I include the tories in that, so it’s probably something they ought to re think.
