Tunnel of Love is massively underrated. Well I like it anyway.

Now this may make me sound like a Boss-heretic, but I could never get into Nebraska.
You maybe right about Tunnel of Love but Nebraska noooo,it could be my favourite,it’s an album from a dark place which kind of fits my mood at the moment.

So, if one were to start with Brucie from scratch, where would one start?

    Sorry to hijack.

I would definitely begin with born to Run and then work outwards from there, but be prepared for quite a few disappointments after Born in the USA.

At present it feels like an absolute ******* eternity, but it actually works out at 2340 days which doesn’t seem quite so bad.

I have some Lusso max repel leg warmers and I would rate them as okay, they will certainly keep you dry in light rain but heavy persistent rain they do begin to let the water in. I doubt there is the truly waterproof tight/ leg warmer.

it is rarely a good Tour for sprinters as there aren’t many flat stages and the hills are brutal – all this towards the end of the season aswell means it’s not worth participating.

Plenty of flat stages in the vuelta 9 in 2009 and 2010, 6 in 2011, 9 in 2012 and 6 this year I would agrees that they often have quite brutal mountain top finishes also with valuable UCI world tour points no race is not worth participating in,a win at vuelta is worth 170 points only a tour win gains more.
No as already mentioned Cav is not there because he has ridden the tour and the giro already.

Duffield could be entertaining but often not in a good way, too many left field anecdotes and bizarre trivia about french cheese but on occasion I do miss his inane ramblings. However Harmon (+ Kelly or Backstead) is excellent IMO a real enthusiast which is what makes a good commentator.Hopefully he will get better soon and be back instead of the cretinous Carlton Kirby.

Dont just chuck them or sell them to a shop first find out their value. I ebayed mine about 2 years ago and made just over £2000.I used discogs to find out their value and then put them on eBay.

If I’m doing a loop I’ve not done before and just riding it at a fun pace on my own (not taking it deliberately easy or hard) then I’d assume 20mph average

The first 20 miles i did in 35 minutes

It took longer than expected to start but it was pretty good when it did.

    20mph – fun pace?

My concern with 4 or 4s is that in say 18 months time it’s going to be really outdated , slow etc.

imo Specialized and fizik are good as they come in plenty of flavours , as for recommending a saddle unfortunately what works for me may well not work for you. However for what it’s worth I use fizik arione and specialized toupe both with no problems.

Ed – few other sports even attempt anything like this at an international level. I take it you’ve not played team sports before, because the common thinking and teamwork is what makes or breaks a team and that takes a lot to build and maintain.

Yes like you and every other soul on here I have played team sports, however like most people on here not to professional level, but I do take your point that is hard for the lions to play as a team with such little preparation, so I can’t help thinking why bother if the lack of preparation is such a hindrance. You can probably tell I’m not that keen on rugby although I do remember enjoying playing it at school.
Thanks for all the posts as I do get the Lions thing now , I think.

Ok I can see the honour bit due to them only being every 4 years and being picked is a recognition of being the best of the best it just seems to layman surprising that the best of 3 nations struggle to beat a single country although take your point about no time to train together which is obviously more important in rugby than maybe some other sports.

I want to thank everyone for contributing to this thread so many of the comments reflect my circumstances. Admitting I wasn’t coping was,and still is ,very hard but realising that I am not the only one does help. I feel lucky that my Doctor has been very helpful referring me for some talking therapy and prescribing me some antidepressants ( mirtazapine ) which I have been on for 2 weeks and I do feel that they are helping although I have struggled with some of the side effects.

Yes. I meditate most days and have done for about 18 months. I would recommend finding a local guided group session as a good start. It is a skill which you need to cultivate and work at but is very worthwhile.

Have you thought about renting one first to see if it is for you? Also a power meter can be a great training tool giving loads of information however you may need the advice of a coach on how to use this information for training , setting goals etc.otherwise they can be just an expensive toy.

Current 5701GS rear mech is designed to work with a 32t sprocket now.

then even less reason to go with apex

I would go for 105 unless you are in desperate need of 32 on the back to help with climbing.
