big ride = rice pudding 😀 normal ride= normal breakfast. A little but often would be my advice during a ride, dont wait till you are feeling hungry or thirsty.

aP you just know that won't happen its so easy to look at the bikes at places like planet x, ribble etc push a few buttons and hey you've bought a bike, simple, easy, non threatening. My first thought is buying a race bike like a planet x , ribble just as winter arrives 😯

First she needs to decide what she wants it for, race, train, sportive, leisure ride, commute etc etc. Then she needs to make sure she gets a bike that fits her properly. Planet x, ribble etc sell perfectly good cookie cutter carbon framed bikes but they may be completerly unsuitable for the riding she intends to do. This is the sensible advice.
The less sensible but more atractive view is to be seduced by carbon and shiny groupsets and blow nearly £1000 on an unsuitabe bike you have never sat on from the internet.

Better deal imo is to look s/h on here, e bay, cycling weekly etc as many people buy trainers use them twice hate them and never use them again, as a result they can make good s/h buys.

    Why not go Irish?
Bushmills blackbush is very good and some of their single malts are incredibly good, particularly the 1608.

Good set of bibs will keep your kidneys and lower back warm too. If your looking at 3/4 I would personally go for a good set of bib shorts + knee warmers as these are more adaptable and better value imo.

As already mentioned far better to ask the doctor who is doing the op. If you trust him with a scalpel near your wedding tackle surely you can trust his advice on when its safe to ride. All this "I rode the next day" I suspect only applies to people who have the genitals of a 6 year old.

As a training tool combined with a hrm, a training plan and a fan, brilliant. However many people buy them as a substitute to riding outside, they arent! So if you enjoy training get one, if you just like riding get some lights and waterproofs.

Haven't a clue what it is. But I'm guessing it some vastly overpriced piece of cycling wear bought by people who feel that because it cost loads this makes them a more discerning rider.

Let me get this right you're going to spin for upto an hour on rollers and then use your turbo, are you mad? if you want to improve your " pedal stroke" can I suggest one legged drills, which you can do on your turbo or getting a fixie.

If anything more mind numbing, good for warming up that's about it very limited use as a training tool, which is what a turbo is( NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR RIDING OUTSIDE).

I got a panasonic plasma about 6 months ago and I've been very impressed with it, although I'm sure someone will be along in a minute to tell me I made the wrong choice. I suspect the difference between most of these tellys is actually quite small so I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about your choice.

Probably 34/50 particularly if you live in a hilly area and or lack fitness.

I think in the past there was quite a bit of truth in the saying " campag wears in, shimano wears out" but I think far less nowadays, if at all. Also how long do chains, cassettes etc last, well that really does depend on how well you look after them, lack of maintainance and winter roads can wear things very very quickly.

I was on statins a few years ago but had to stop due to terrible aching muscle/cramp effects. This was the lowest dose and trying about 3 differnt ones . I then got a new Doc who is keen rider ( cat 2 I think) who told me this was quite common in runners and cyclist etc to be intolerant to them, and advised me to knock them on the head. Changed my diet a little more good fats and Im now ok.I only say this as the statins really **** up my riding, so beware.

Try e bay or a cycling forum and try and get s/h one, as many people buy and give up on them after a couple of goes. Look for makes like taxc, cyclops, minoura and elite.

RepacK many in the peleton are currently talking about Brads great tour and many are suspicious hence him publishing his blood values just after the tour finished. Any pro rider who does well is under suspicion, that is the price they have payed for years of doping and lying about it.

If you are used to mtb spds you will find speedplay the easiest to get in and out of as they are double sided as you are already used to. They also have adjustable float so you can adjust them exactly as you want them no float upto 15 deg ( I THINK).In speedplay its the cleat thats big with the mech rather than the other way round. The downsides are the cleats are expensive, but they wear out slowly, and they are very hard to walk in. BTW I use look keo's but if I was starting riding with cleats and I was commuting a lot and I had used mtb spd I would choose speedplay, no brainer imo.

Really not being macho or trying to be contensious ( well maybe a little 🙂 just pointing out that on most road club rides you will see many riders comfortably using 53/39 chainsets. It just sounds like mrmichaelwright has a bit of a chip on his shoulder if he feels riders are chosing their gearing to feel better than " everyone else" by which i assume he means him.
