Firstly you really need to try shoes on rather than guess. As for shoes imo there isnt a lot of difference between similar priced shoes certainly far less than the makers would have you believe.
Over the years I have worn spesh, sidi, northwave and shimano. The best shoes I have are some specialized bg pro but will probably be more than £80.I would look for a deal on some of last years stock and you want nice stiff carbon sole.

imo It's been going downhill for quite a bit. This issue however is particularly devoid of anything worth reading.

Personally I would get a custom steel build from someone like Roberts, Bob Jackson, Mercian, Paul Hewitt etc. Why steel is as comfortable, cheaper, easier to repair and in touring bikes strength and comfort are far bigger issues than frame weight.

Current top of list is a van nic or similar Ti frame with rack mounts
second on the list is 'sportive' geometry carbon road bike and trailer.

Go with the former or something similar ( loads of steel ti touring frames) forget the latter ( you're going touring not racing) join a good club ( check out BC site and look for Go Ride type clubs) and drop calling it the darkside riders at a club will think you're a right t1t.

Had mine for years and years, and it still looks good, as new really. Never had a strap problem, serviced twice( expensive), its the automatic and keeps great time. However and I think it is a big however it is still just a watch and does nothing more than a far far cheaper watch, it is a status symbol and an expensive one at that. Don't go blue go black

best imo look HCS5SL, reynolds uozo pro both pricey £250+.
Among others Columbus and Deda both make good cheaper carbon forks. ribble will probably be the cheapest place for both columbus and deda.

max heart rate test would go something like this
    warm up 15 mins
Then at cadence 80 + increase your effort by 10% every 2-3 mins ( shifting to next gear
Continue increasing untill you can go no faster then GET OUT OF THE SADDLE AND SPRINT 🙂 probably 10-20 seconds( if more you probably weren't going hard or fast enough)
When you have stopped seeing stars and feeling less like puking check your max heart rate.

BTW I would do a proper test, your max is not 200 if you can maintain it for a minute.

Forget 220- age it is an utter waste of time. Should you reset your zones using your max heart rate that you can achieve. YES

Stock is the best by far. However it is expensive. Others I would recommend are San Rocco , Don Giovanni's and Croma ( pizza place but superb value and good service).

Ring derek at wheelsmith.uk tell him what you want your budget and Im certain he will sort you out. Certain they will be lighter and better quality than any equivilant rrp £300 wheels.

Try to ignore the bling looking rims (usually just flashy stickers), fictional advertised weights and low spoke counts of factory wheels and buy some handbuilts from a decent wheelbuilder e g wheelsmith uk and others. You will get a far better wheel which wil last a lot longer and far easier to maintain.

If you are genuinely worried go to your GP rather than asking advice on here. Many people on here will happily give you advice with no medical experience, or knowledge of you.

The whole family are big Boosh fans and my 8 year old has just informed me that his favourite is Electro with the spirit of Jazz. The audio CD is always a big hit in the car when we go on holiday.

Bob Jackson world tour, the frames ( 653 tubing, choice of 100s of colours) are around £350, from what I remember. The frame builds into a lovely steel tourer.

Have a look at islabikes. We never had a balance bike from them but have had quite a few of their other bigger bikes and they have all been excellent. With the added bonus that they have a great resale value when they have grown out of them.

My Garmin has been doing the same and this seems to have solved it many thanks.
