Such a shame because despite its age and mileage runs perfectly it’s been serviced every year and never given us any problems at all.

I think a secondhand hybrid is the way forward. She wants to do the Manchester to Liverpool bike ride for charity and I feel a light hybrid will be better than a mountain bike for 40 miles. What are the Boardman hybrids like and any others I should look for.Sorry for changing the thread btw.

Sorry no just home wifi.I was looking to change my broadband to fibre.Im currently unlimited broadband and wondered if I could go to fibre but with a limited monthly download but apparently it was 200gb last month!

I think we just need a change, that was our 5th Green Man, having been consecutively to th last 4 and as Blob said found Laura Marling and James Blake a bit flat as last acts on mountain stage.Which is a shame they are both great acts.We thought it was just us but it’s interesting that Blob felt the same and you did get that sense in the crowd ,certainly near us…which you didn’t see with Belle and Sebastian. It is a great festival and I know you will enjoy yourself Next year..

Certainly last few years have had more appropriate headliners, last years were particularly good. Its a great festival that I love but we go as a family and I know they were a little underwhelmed.( Laura Marling and James Blake good great even ,but festival headliners?)
I think particularly last year they blew the budget on headliner and this year they spent less.Maybe spending the budget across all the stages or on the changes to the festival- eg new far out stage or saving some for 15th anniversary.

Yes it was netbook that I was thinking of.Thanks so she could go smaller than 14 and it still be a usable laptop. Thanks for all the help up to now.

Her only ask is could it be a bit smaller than a current 15.6 inch laptop but not tinyI was thinking of 14 inch as my limited work experience of the small mini laptops is that they are not much use .She has no interest in IT so shiny, name etc is of no interest.

Sorry not seen the other 257 threads I will do a search.
As for cost I’m not sure I was hoping for less than £300.
She wants it for writing essays and social stuff and watching telly I think.(I was thinking I could put sky go on for her)
I hope this helps I know very little about computers but know a lot of people on here do ,which is why I ask.I don’t come on here lots so don’t follow threads daily but in the past have found people’s advice really helpful.
Once again thanks in advance .

I have just realised for the last 40 years a week has never gone by without me playing and connecting to a Bowie track or album..I love music from punk, new wave, techno, rock, jazz and so much more, but Bowie was the one constant. He has gone and I am deeply saddened.

Yes greatest hits would count, the rule is just one album that’s all.I wouldn’t go for greatest hits because I don’t listen to Dylan like that I listen to his albums but that’s just a personal thing.
I suspect the choices reflect the ages of many people on singletrack,if this was a SAGA forum I wonder if people would be choosing an album from the 60s.I think its that first album of his that you heard that made you go wow!

    1. Blood on the Tracks.
    2. Desire (apart from ‘Mozambique’, which is fugging annoying).
    3. Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid soundtrack.

They’ve not lost at Brisbane for 17 years, last time to a great WI side. Bookies going with history, tough place to play England not quite ready draw looking favourite though

True but the Aussies haven’t had such a shit side for long time either.I think an England win is possibly worth a punt and an England win at the Gabba would knock the stuffing out of them.Luv to see Shrek explaining that to the Aus media.

I am by no means an expert but I would second the Akg 550 recommendation.I got mine about 1 year ago and have been very impressed with the quality of the sound.

I was looking at similar price point and similar bikes , the dale and kinesis but I would add a van dessel gin and trombones to that list, I absolutely love mine. They are from the US but you can get them from The Bearded Man Shop.( who I found very helpful)

With many anti depressants you have to give them time to build up in your system before they have a significant effect, usually 2-3 weeks plus.Another downside is that most of the common side effects will be most severe in the first 2-3 weeks as your body gets used to the meds.A good idea is to begin with 10mg of citalopram for first week ( which is non therapeutic dose) which helps your body to get used to the meds and may minimise any side effects.
If you feel you need them I would give them ago and try stick with them for 2-3 weeks, just taking something can have a beneficial effect.
On the plus side citalopram can be very effective and any side effects will reduce over time. Also if citalopram isnt for you there are loads more anti depressants it’s sometimes just finding the right one for you.I hope this helps and if you want any more info e Mail me.I’m not a doctor but am taking citalopram and I’m probably 6 months further down the road than you.

It seems Radio 1 in the 70s and 80s was akin to Sodom and Gomorrah.
