The problem is, what pedals work with leather-soled shoes?

    Here are your shoes[/url]

Ed, loving the current beard. Still takes a lot to out do the massive ‘burns though…

    They’re still under there 😉

what does a 1940’s haircut look like then?

Luckily I didn’t get what I went to get ie. razored sides grading up to a slicked back longer top. Rather a sharp short side parting, more of a late Tsar Nicholas look.

Calderdale is a good place for getting to grips with rocky trails. I’m in the process of setting up a guiding / skills training company there and will be offering good rates to get myself established. Have a look at my site (currently in development) and drop me a line (click on my user name)if you are interested. Cheers.

Once you’ve subscribed you’ve paid right? Then the mags come and they’re free! That’s how I see it.

When the FS was broken for a bit last summer, I had the 130mm revs off it, a 2.25″ advantage/2.5″ high roller up front and 2.1″ kenda on the rear and it was really good.

There’s your fix then! I’m for having all my bikes set up to be “really good” as in fun and capable of technical riding. Mountain biking is supposed to be fun. Why have a fun FS bike and a less fun hardtail?

We are not driving F1 cars!

Have you not seen the Scott Genius?

Sounds like time for a new bike with clearance for bigger tyres. I had a Gary Fisher Big Sur and I put big tyres on it for comfort and more technical riding. Really it just wasn’t that kind of bike – so I replaced it with a GF Ged with 2.5 tyres and a big fork. My riding progressed massively with the change.

Very good the one’s I’ve ridden. Stiff and good damping and very easy to get the wheel on and off.

The most bonkers descent I’ve done in the Lakes. Recommended if you like it nasty. Ridng the many steps of Calderdale finally came in useful 😀

Is it supposed to be the bright blue like Lopes’ DH Mojo?

Yes to an adjustable seat post.
    Yes to wider tyres.
    Yes to the V8s!
Yes to jumps, drops and the Alps….well the Hebden Alps for me at least.

I’m testing a Lopes Link on the STW Mojo at the moment as part of a Big All Mountain / DH build. Look out for an update in the mag in due course 🙂

    1. really good quality allen key.
    2. Heat to try and loosen.
    3. If that fails, cut the bolt in half and work on it with needlenose pliers or mini mole grips.
    4. Pass the problem on to a friend or a bike shop.

I like it. Great threads, bit amateurs night on the beard front though. I’m going to get me a 1940s haircut tomorrow.

OK thanks I get it now. Stu that looks like the best value option you’ve got there. A good upgrade for the Mojo I think…

OK so I get the bolt thru option. But could you spell out the bolt on option for me?

SS Stu do you have a Hope 10mm Saint axle……and what?

There was someone moaning about the photos in the Gallery of the latest issue of the mag being mostly of Calderdale. Well they’ll be happy because that photo is of Valhalla.

Had a great carving Calderdale ride this morning with Matt, Mark and James. Snow is surprisingly grippy as long as you don’t use your brakes.

£900 would be a good deal for you titaniumtit. No way you’re going to get anywhere near what it would cost to build.

I guess part of the fun is finding the rides and making new friends that show you the ones that they know. Some epic rides are featured in the Trail Guide on this site.

07 Fox 36 Floats here with zero love and lots of miles. No wear, super plush, stiff blah, blah, blah…

Having both a 70mm and a 50mm stem is essential stock I think. I’ve swapped to a 50mm on the Ibis and it’s sharper, as mentioned above you will adapt on the climbs. Seems a shame not to do this if you’ve got a bike that is born to descend.

It was October, when you can start to use the Ranger’s path in the daytime under the voluntary agreement. Goggles are ace for windy plummets…..and for showboating!

My advise is to take a good look at Calderdale. It’s where you end up when you die.
