If the price is the price and not arbitary why do you get situations like this?

Cost of peak day return Nottingham to Birmingham – £34.50
Cost of return to Nottingham to Long Eaton plus return Long Eaton to Birmingham travelling on the same trains – £21.60

Multi city is more expensive than booking a return to melbourne and a separate internal flight and no difference time wise as flying out of darwin they still seem to take you via melbourne or adelaide.

I thought I might be able to do something by flying to singapore and booking separately but seems to be as expensive to fly to singapore as to melbourne around the dates we want.

Even if it is more expensive it’ll save a lot of travel time and hassle.

Trying to work out what travel time and hassle is worth. At the moment it looks like I can get return tickets plus a single for £900 but it’s about £1500 to fly london – melbourne, darwin – london

I know the police tracked my car into Nottingham using ANPR after it was stolen. It was first spotted in Lincoln with false plates that didn’t match the tax disc.

“The danger is if social workers feel overwhelmed with workloads or have no career direction, councils end up in a vicious cycle or having to recruit every two or three years because workers don’t want to stay.

“Retention of staff is as important as recruitment.”

We have Philips warm whites which we are very pleased with. They were on 3 for 2 in Tesco the other week, don’t know whether that is still the case.

It’s not the miles walked its…..’You have thirty five seconds to pick this parcel.. Beep..beep..beep..beep..beep..

Is this really any different to working on a production line where you have x seconds to get something done before the next one comes down the line?

28 days is plenty of time, if its that important you are entitled to take time off work.

I’m not sure how 28 days is plenty of time when it takes a minimum of 21 days to get an appointment and a further 6 to get a prescription. And we are not allowed time off for doctor’s appointments during work time. I’d be interested to see anything that said you were entitled we’re going through a review of terms and conditions at the moment and one of the things they tried to change was to not allow time off for hospital appointments either.

Oh noes, you have to go in twice a year now.

Enforcing appointments where the only dialogue is for the gp to say that they have to do a medication review but there’s really nothing to say and they just have to tick a box to say it’s happened is not a good use of their time or mine.

Did you miss the bit where this was a new thing and I was told 28 days in advance? This is in addition to an annual review I have which involves blood tests. I suggested maybe combining the two but got ‘computer says no’

The doctor at the ‘review’ admitted it was nothing but a box ticking exercise, repeat that across the practice and what a monumental waste of time.

When the practice only gives you a 28 day script, you get told when you pick up that prescription that you have to have an annual medication review (new guidelines apparently), the nearest appointment you can get is 3 weeks away if you can’t miss work to attend and it takes 6 days to request and issue a repeat prescription it’s not hard to see how people run out of medication.

I have an Eastpak one, the Kruizer, but it’s compact and bijou – no way that it’ll fit all your clobber.

They come in 3 different sizes, I’ve used the large one when going grocery shopping. It’s huge

Still over budget but not as far as some

I have an earlier version of this

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4602387.htm

it was recommended as best machine for beginners in Which? at the time and it’s been faultless for me.

Personally I think that money spent on lessons would be better put towards a machine. There are so many simple tutorials and projects on the web these days.

When a driver who was two times over the legal limit can’t even be successfully prosecuted for death by careless driving you have to wonder about the system.

We were once charged a similar amount for a plastic cutlery tray, luckily spotted before paying but the cashier only noticed when I queried the total.

We have those adverts too, I must admit my first thought was I’ve never heard a news report mentioning a roadworker being killed yet hear plenty of drivers/cyclists/pedestrians.

    On-site catering facilities = a canteen

    or

On-site catering facilities = a kitchen that you can use with fridge and microwave

If the latter then the policy makes more sense.

I’m sure it has changed recently and it’s no longer whirlpool at least for some things. All the dishwashers supplied have changed in the last 12 months or so. They were still whirlpool when we got ours a little over a year ago but the models had all changed when my parents looked more recently.

I think you’ve read it wrong, what Alasdair said was to add a named driver. This is perfectly allowable, and legal.

Yep, I still add my dad as a named driver to my policy as it saves me £100 even though I’m 33 and live at a different address.

I’d personally advise against reading too much about it on the internet at this stage. Like a lot of these things, people only tend to report worst case scenarios and I was pretty depressed after reading up.

As it is I take a tablet everyday and have a blood test once a year and that’s the only affect it has on my life.

Can you imagine that another driver coming round that bend would ever have been blamed for a collision with a car on the wrong side of the road because they weren’t able to take evasive action?

My parents have a Roomba. We’ve borrowed it when they’ve been on extended holidays. It’s good for our large kitchen diner, vacuuming everyday whilst I’m at work. I think you’d always need a manual vacuum cleaner in addition though.

I managed to get to be top user in my first month in the job 🙂

They could see where I’d been, but all my forum use was restricted to lunchtimes so no problem.

Being on here all day would barely register data wise.

I don’t know exactly what they were measuring but I know that forums seemed to score highly yet sites where I was downloading quantities of work related data barely registered. I suspect it was something to do with refreshing the forum pages.
