I think if you’re happy to get a hire car and not stay in a resort even destinations that have a ‘chavy’ reputation could fit the bill.

Are you looking for hotels or an apartment?

I wouldn’t but only because I’d wash tea towels at a different temp, not because I’m bothered about them mixing. I don’t separate colours.

We’ve done the a Tissingon Trail, 54A, High Peak Trail circular route a couple of times.

    This to be precise

    http://www.ebygomm.ourownlittleworld.org/mapping/osmap.php?f=trialrun.gpx

All fairly quiet roads, but some steep bits at times, I think it’s doable for a 7 year old taking it steady. If you start somewhere round Carsington you can miss out the High Peak Junction to Middleton top bit.

I’m contracting at the moment and my take home is nearly double what the permanent staff get paid. The recruitment company charge another 40% more again over what I ever see!

We had to drive the long gradually rising dual
carriageway with the AC off as the hire car didn’t
have enough power to run it and keep us moving

We had to have the heaters on in our old banger, to take the heat away from the engine and stop it overheating.

Been a couple of times, it feels hot 🙂

It was 120 Fahrenheit when we were there.

TBH 105 F in Missouri with 95% humidity feels worse

If you want a nice gentle ride then train with bikes to shirebrook, pick up the dukeries trail all the way to Lincoln, stop for a drink at the pyewipe and then train back to Lea Road.

Megabus do some train tickets too, from Nottingham to London can get a return ticket for around £24

    Mallorca?

We stayed in Soller (Port Soller if you want to be right on the beach) last August and it was fine (would never normally choose to go during school holidays)

Ryanair flights can be cheaper if booked from Europe as they charge their extras in Euros not Pounds (same amount)

“I am a man. I am quicker than a 14 year old girl. I am quicker than that old fart doing the breast stroke, badly”

This definitely, so many blokes see a lone female in the fast lane and assume they must belong in there too. I like to amuse myself by overtaking them whilst just using a kickboard 🙂

I discovered the exit services function on my sat nav yesterday which directed me to Morrisons 0.2 miles from the motorway. Petrol 10p a litre cheaper than the services we’d passed 5 miles before.

We’ve got a lot of green strawberries, but I’m thinking we’ll be on holiday just as they’re ripe. Anyone know how long strawberries take to ripen?

I thought the pedestrians had priority over people turning into the road they’re crossing, not cars travelling on that road?

    Almost anyone will swim faster
    in a swimming wetsuit.

Which is why it’s so unfair that I’m slower 🙂

The first one I ever had was horrible, smelled really weird. I’ve got a super lightweight MSR one which is functional but only really used when weight is really an issue, and a lifeventure one which is a bit bulkier but can be used more like a normal towel, i.e. you can just wrap yourself in it.

I just wanted some grass and that’s what we’ve ended up with, I know we just got cheap and cheerful but it’s perfectly adequate for us.

I’d say it’s unreasonable to get rent off a child you’re still claiming child benefit for.

I got the chance to swim in a different wetsuit today and discovered that for me the neck rubbing is definitely wetsuit specific, so on the search for a new one.

I’ve event seen powered sites with people sitting under their gazebo’s on sofa’s watching TV and reaching for a cold one out of the full size fridge they’ve brought with them!

Better than being on unpowered sites with a generator doing the same which is something my parent’s have encountered a bit on their travels.

We’re doing the drive from Melbourne to Darwin with them and their trailer tent in July, can’t wait. Only one of these though

What works in terms of camping equipment over there is totally different to camping in the UK.

Yes, I have a women’s stumpjumper fsr. I preferred the colours on the men’s but the female specific one was £200 cheaper in the sale (same spec) so went with the pink.

We have the rideon and it will take 3 bikes without too much bother. I’m sure the euro ones are slightly nicer but they were also 3 times the price. It really doesn’t shift once tightened.

Courgettes cut into ribbons and steamed make a good alternative to spaghetti.

Can’t help with the butterbeans, the only time I’ve used them for something other than chilli type stuff was to make a cake.

Just a note, I earned more working behind the bar at a PGL centre than the outdoor instructors.

With the new lending criteria do they evaluate travel costs, e.g. traditional advice is to move further away so can afford somethong. Will the new lending criteria look at travel costs and reduce the amount accordingly or is it just based on current outgoings?
