I find Toyota garages to be cheaper than the independents for me, plus they include a courtesy car whilst it’s being done, wash it afterwards and the price they pay for parts like replacement bulbs and wipers is way cheaper than anything I could buy.

Car rental in the USA is cheap. For 3 weeks you’ll almost certainly be better off renting than trying to buy and insure a car as a non resident.

That it’s not possible to have conventional doorframes around most of our internal doors as the doorways are as far into the corners of rooms as possible.

Emphasised further by the two main bedrooms having a 20cm long ‘alley’ into the rooms, which also results in rooms where you need to do 10 corners when fitting coving or skirting board

I quite like the fact that they look unlike most other cars.

I spent the past 12 months with a Prius as a second car. I loved in through town where you really notice the mpg difference and in stop start traffic on the motorway (althought that’s probably mostly because it’s an auto). Nowhere near as nice to drive as my other car though – also a Toyota. Although I never tired of watching whether the engine was charging the battery, or charging the wheels or the battery was transferring power to the wheels etc. :-)

When you think that’s a 12 year old car, I’m surprised that the technology doesn’t seemed to have moved on all that much.

My left eye perceives colour differently to my right eye so I’m fairly confident colour perception would also vary between people. No problem picking out the green square that was a different shade in that article either.

We were there in Jan/Feb time I think. One route we did was not really singletrack but good fun none the less, the other had some fairly technical sections, not a tourist route at all. It’s the only ride where I’ve wanted some uphills to get a rest from the downhill :-)

QGIS is opensource. It’s something I use in my working life, but it’s fairly easy to use. Although if you haven’t ever used GIS software it might not be quite as straightforward as I made out :-)

We’ve got an ideal boiler, it was put in just before we bought. We’ve had it repaired under warranty once (so when less than 2 years old). We’ll be replacing it shortly (now 4 years old) as the one we’ve got isn’t really up to running a shower from.

When we flew out of East Midlands a couple of years ago it was cheaper to pay for a hotel with parking than parking alone. It was one of the ‘ mystery hotel’ deals but seeing as it was listed as being on airport and there is only one on airport hotel at ema it wasn’t much of a mystery.

Half the cost of boiler replacement is likely to be the for the installation, the actual boiler cost prob only makes up half that quote.

I don’t know how much it varies around the country but where we live estate agents only appear to be involved in viewings if the owner’s are dead. Every occupied house we looked round only involved being shown round by the owner.

As much as I agree that estate agents do little to earn their money I also think that a house at the right price will get viewings on the basis of a right move ad alone.
