Someone went into the back of me when I was in a rental car. Increased my premiums and caused a load of hassle trying to get quotes as if you declare an accident they want to know costs.

I have a swimovate but it’s a bit hit and miss on the accuracy when counting lengths.

We hired 3 x 6 person forest holiday cabins when we needed somewhere for 18. Worked well as the living space was big enough for everyone to gather in one cabin. Bit pricey, although we doubled up on Tesco vouchers towards some of the cost.

The Olympics would be very short going on which events some people think are legitimate.

Presumably jumping far, jumping far with a bit of hopping and skipping, jumping high and jumping high with a pole would be replaced by one jumping event. Discus, javelin, shotput and hammer replaced by one throwing event. No hurdles or steeplechase as that’s just random obstacles included, nothing with any sort of subjective measurement, e.g. diving/gymnastics…

You missed Lauryn Williams – Athletics & Bobsleigh

I just looked up athletes who’d won 3 or more gold medals across different Olympic games. It’s a much longer list than I expected and had heard of very few of them.

And steeplechase is just running with a few obstacles, ditto hurdles.

Most Olympic events are fairly arbitrary.

Assume that those who don’t like races for different strokes aren’t fans of Keirin or half the track cycling events either.

Carl Lewis won medals across 100m, 200m and long jump, then there’s a relay on top.

Gymnasts can win a whole host of medals too.

Theoretically if someone could stay at the top over multiple Olympics a field and track athlete or a gymnast could gain as many as a swimmer.

Recently we’ve looked at driving Rotterdam to Kiel or Lubeck in a day then getting late overnight ferry (10pm ish) to south Sweden.

We’d stopped in Copenhagen then got the Copenhagen to Oslo ferry on our recent trip. We’d looked at driving but the cost of the bridge to Sweden and then petrol meant that the ferry wasn’t actually much more expensive. Left Copenhagen 4pm and arrived first thing in Oslo after a great night’s sleep. Definitely worth it.

We drove to Norway earlier this year after getting the ferry across from Hull to Rotterdam. Took nearly all food with us and camped mostly with a couple of nights in hostels. Wild camping is free and campsites not too dissimilar to UK prices.
    Petrol about the same.

It wasn’t a really cheap holiday, but not expensive either. Our biggest expense was ferries as we took 9 in total.

I’ve done plenty of factory work, data entry, stacking shelves but nothing was as boring as a job where I had nothing to do in the pre-internet days. I was employed to answer phones, type letters etc. The phone rang once the first day and I had one letter to mail.I lasted two days before getting a better offer (data entry of those coupons for freebies you used to get in the paper)

If it was easier to get trades in and do a good job I’d be more inclined to 2, as it is it seems easier to do the work yourself.

And I’m still annoyed that one of the few things we paid someone to do they managed to get wrong – Kitchen spotlights not in a straight line.

Am actually looking forward to doing a bit of plastering again, one of my favourite DIY jobs.

But Andrea Leadsom is going to have to explain to an army of angry farmers, why as a Leave campaigner, she supported the loss of their EU subsidy

A good proportion of the farmers voted Out too.

Worth signing up for their offers. Often money off or cheap cabin upgrades. We paid 10 quid to upgrade to a club cabin a month ago which was well worth it.

Also most of the locals here in Oz can’t understand why brits live with such shit coffee, not much served in the UK would last a morning here.

Coffee wasn’t any better in Australia than anywhere else I’ve travelled, mostly ok some good much like the UK. It did however provide me with the worst cup of coffee I’ve ever bought though.

and do you lose it for good if test come back showing epilepsy.

Normally have to be seizure free for a year before you can apply for it back. Although think there are different rules if only experiencing seizures in your sleep.

I rent somewhere similar Mon-Fri which I found through spareroom (and have used that for two previous places as well). Either side can give 2 weeks notice to end the agreement.

Think about what you will offer, e.g. all the Mon – Fri places I’ve rented include changing and laundering sheets etc.

Will you allow storage of belongings over the weekends?

Just agreed our remortgage. Valuation done over the phone based on house price index. Dropped us down to the lowest LTV ratio which I’m not convinced we’d be in based on a proper valuation so not worth chasing rates elsewhere for us.

The area around Silkeborg is pleasantly undulating, but none of Jutland is rocky.

There are some nice trails around but it’s all rolling single track territory rather than anything more exciting.

I thought this was how it worked (at least it was how it worked for us)

    – Offer made
    – Offer accepted
    – Solicitor instructed
    – Paperwork sent to EA, house listed as SSC

    ebygomm

Often just a drive by from what I’ve read.

If remortgaging with the same lender often new valuation just based on house price index increase.

we’re due to remortgage in the next month and rates available on 5 year fixes are really favourable at the moment

The solicitor of course had the full deposit prior to completion. I just found it odd that they would allow exchange without being 100% sure that we could actually complete. So the idea that it is some sort of legal requirement for the EA to see proof of funds sounds incredibly unlikely.

No we exchanged with 10% deposit, the remaining 10% was transferred prior to completion but we nobody had ever asked for proof that we had the full 20% prior to exchange
