Picking up from T3, then got 3.5 hours drive home, round M25 then up M1. Ruled out in terminal options because of car parking.

Wanting somewhere reasonably nice to sit down as my brother is coming to meet up as well. I’ll be waiting at the McDonalds on Bath Road with a coffee for a call saying I can pick them up from the drop off point :-)

Not fully self watering, but I do something similar for starting seedlings off. Cotton wick through the bottle lid into the water reservoir.

Fair enough, so it looks like (a few isolated major fraud cases apart)

Note that the major fraud cases mentioned up thread all involve elected officials and not planning officers.

Often these applications seem to appear on page 2 or later of the list of applications, almost as though someone is trying to hide them

Most likely is that planning applications are classified according to whether they are major residential, minor, householder etc. and this is held as a numerical code within the system. When they are pulled out to create the weekly list it orders them according to this code. If major residential as a code of 01 they would always appear first with householder applications coming later.

My knowledge is very out of date (15 + years) but there used to be an reasonable municipal site at Banyuls Sur Mer. About 20 minutes walk to the beach.

Do you have to use enterprise?

Budget have the following under travel restrictions

“You can take the vehicle out of Germany into all European countries free of charge with the following exceptions:

No rentals are permitted into Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, Greece, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria, Estonia, Iceland, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldavia, Romania and Russia.”

I have a silhouette portrait. It’s a few years old now so there may be better stuff about now, but no complaints about mine. It’s limited to A4 sizes, couldn’t justify the cost bump to get the larger sized cameo – at the time it was about twice the price.

ebygomm – as you can tell above, I’m a fan of maps – that looks fantastic!

It’s cheating really, when you have a papercutter :-) Takes about 10 minutes to produce a dxf file for it from openstreetmap data

We used good to go parking last year – https://www.goodtogoparking.com/ – which is official heathrow parking but cheaper and has to include a Saturday night. Exactly the same car park as the official long stay parking

It’s not all that long ago that white American folk weren’t comfortable with sharing their space with black American folk, should their right to say no be respected?

So presumably you disagree with sex segregation entirely? The equality act allows for lawful discrimination on the basis of sex where it is a proportional means of achieving a legitimate aim. Do you disagree with the equality act?

Heh – because outing yourself as trans is definitely gaining and advantage in life…

Well the transwomen gaining places on womens only short lists and winning medals in female sports events certainly aren’t the ones at the disadvantage.

It is totally rubbish on motorways where it struggles to achieve 40mpg at 75ish

Surprised it’s that bad, my non-hybrid touring sports will do 45mpg up and down the motorway and the prius i used to drive was about the same. Mine is pants round town though!

How is 1 person paying with 4 people having to make a Swish transfer more convenient than having 5 people pay an equal amount on a card to the restaurant? Both involve 5 transactions

    Similar options around already, e.g.

    https://supportcentre.natwest.com/Searchable/913223232/Pay-your-friends-with-their-mobile-number.htm

Never used it, but then I put everything on a credit card anyway

Yes, it’s def for the hybrid as there are other tow bar options for non hybrid cars. Prob not marketed as a tow bar as not rated for towing but bike carrier or similar. No doubt only through Toyota and spendy though. No chance of an auris touring sports instead? Can fit bike in the boot with wheels off in mine, also roof rails as standard

It is possible to get a bike carrier specific tow bar for the Auris.

so shouldn’t have suffered as a result of the late frost and snow.

It’s perfectly normal for there to be snow and frosts in March, it’s not ‘late’

It’s an exchange system, Jeff. When you move to a country you hand in your licence which is exchanged for the foreign one.

Not necessarily, I took a test to get my US licence, entirely independent of my UK licence. A test in small town Missouri is far easier than exchanging :-)

But the reason i got a licence at all was because I needed a US licence to be covered via my works insurance. My UK licence wouldn’t work for that even though it was satisfactory for most other situations.

Would imagine that trying to insure a UK registered car in your own name with only a US licence would be difficult.

I have to rewash something maybe once a month.

Wish we’d have gone for a digital shower, would have saved knocking a massive hole in the wall for the shower mixer valve and would have meant the pipework was easier. Bath filler off the same controller definitely recommended whether digital or not.

    Solid or engineered wood?

We recently put down engineered wood in the lounge with a foam underlay and it’s loads warmer than the ktichen next door which is tiled but same subfloor.

Why not just say that the previous company folded soon after you joined them?

Worded that way makes it sound as though my joining and the company folding were linked :-)

    Was it actually redundancy though

Company was liquidated, so everyone was made redundant. As it’s within a probationary period I didn’t qualify for any redundancy pay but I think it still is technically redundancy.

It’s 2 months on since being made redundant so that gap is now a 4 month gap :-)

I think it also partly depends on how well things dry in your house generally. We didn’t bother with electric for the towel rail because in summer towels hung on it would dry no problem without it being on.

We made sure to get a towel rail where the attachments to the wall don’t obstruct hanging a towel over. Many of them have attachments that restrict the width you can usefully hang something on.

Lime tree avenue is a public highway and doesn’t get closed. Some of the other entrances got gated with key codes due to previous anti social behaviour years back.
