Great thanks. Yes it’s carbon but the damage is only to the paint work caused by shifter of another bike not securely fastened on an uplift trailer! Can’t get the Wicklow Green from anywhere in the UK so hoping one of these guys can match the colour.

Doesn’t the water tank just provide hot water and not central heating? If so, I imagine any smart thermostat will work-you just won’t be able to control/regulate the hot water. We have a hw tank and the room thermostats have nowt to do with the tank. It’s just linked to the boiler to control the ch. There are some boilers that are not compatible with certain smart thermostats-there’s a list for example on the Nest website.

Just for balance…..Sold my T4 hightop camper to a mate from work. 120kmiles with a dodgy clutch. 5 years later he’s at 160k and the clutch is exactly the same. He bloody loves it.

Same issue here. Destroyed ACL in 2001 and never saw the need for a graft/reconstruction (was always crap at football & rugby anyway). Snowboarding no problem-tried skiing again and initially no problem, but on lower slopes and when the snow got slushy/warm I really struggled to the point where I thought I need to give up. I tried a multitude of off the shelf braces, but for me it was more of a placebo than actually physically holding my knee together! In summary-boarding in powder/heavy snow & skiing on cold freshly groomed pistes!

Molgrips-not cheap for a decent padded one that will fit a large 29”er. Reviews of the decathlon/CRC type bags suggest not only will it not fit, but lucky to last the trip, never mind the bike!

I had exactly the same dilemma! Opted for the Hightower LT. For quite a few reasons-even though the Jeffsy gets great reviews I never actually rode one! Having ridden the ‘old’ Hightower I knew what to expect in terms of reach/sizing etc. The warranty on SC covers lifetime of frame AND bearings-a no brainier for a full bounce. I only bit the bullet when I saw the green/yellow C S going for just over 3.5k. Bargain! Thanks Biketart!

Anyway, think the LT is amazing. Climbs well, and really comes alive on the descents. I know it’s a bit cliche but it really wants to be pushed-it’s only me holding it back! If I’ve one criticism I don’t rate the SRAM guide R’s. So far no issues with the GX Eagle groupset either.

You’re all right, of course. Most bands have great debut albums then gets dross…shouldn’t the question be which band has produced a sublime subsequent album?

Similar situation to you. Sold my 27.5 & got myself a Hightower LT. It’s blumin ace!!  Was never impressed with older generation 29 full bouncers but whatever SC have done (and other brands new 29ers to be fair) is to make them great all rounders.

Some great suggestions, thanks-cling film water proofing and a vinyl sheet at base-check.

Can’t justify the cost of a new bag-I don’t go abroad enough, and can’t be bothered with the hassle of hiring one. I’m fairly sure if my bike gets damaged in the box it’ll get damaged in a bag too.

What you need is a Piper Cub. They’re ace. Loads of videos of them taking off from deserted beaches/glaciers etc. Take off distance of less than 100ft. Much less on a treadmill 😉. Works a treat if you run out fuel with no airfields around. Crap mid ocean though!

There’s a couple of Scandinavian folk who will only fly to airfields to refuel, otherwise the ultimate wild camping machine!

Grand, thanks. In that case I’ll ditch the wood and buy some dense pipe lagging to brace it up. Cheers!

Parking on a mountain stage is a bit of a hassle. We did it for about 5 years and found the best way was to park at the allocated motor home areas (usually a football pitch near the village town) and cycle up/down to where you want to see it. Then you can sit anywhere and take all the wine & cheese with you!

We parked up the hill to Morzine once the night before it came through-by the morning all the lay-bys and verges were packed with campers, so as others have said, if you want the best spots get there early.

Its possible to drive up a smaller cat hill, possibly one with a minor KOM at half distance and the road will be open till an hour before the caravan comes through. It’s still a great spectacle, but be warned the caravan (promo vehicles) will hurl stuff at you at high speed!

Could be worse. My tosser of a dad hasn’t even met his grandchildren (they’re 5 and 3). He lives in Cyprus-but refuses to come back to the UK. Although he came back last Year to buy a bike and f****d straight back off again. Dickhead.

Surprised-that he took drugs for his asthma-no
Disappointed-that there seems to be a witch hunt, mostly by the French-yes
No doubt from me, a clean athlete ‘owned’ by a team that are regularly pushing the boundaries of what TUE’s can be used for.

Used to live in Markland Hill. Great riding from doorstep straight up Old Kiln Lane onto Winter Hill and plenty in between. No shops or rail link though like Horwich-which still has a bike shop!

Yep, just got the Senn 4.5’s. I’ll admit I’ve not tried the BOSE or equivalent but they are fantastic. What I really like is when the wife and kids talk I can see their mouths moving but I can’t hear a jot of what they’re saying

Arrived yesterday and got my 2 free days on PlayStation Network. So far really disappointed in MP-small maps and finding the load outs a pain to navigate. Modern Warfare was probably the best mp in terms of map size & quality. Although I’ll withhold too much criticism as it only allowed me to play about 3 maps due to server issues-had the same problem as the guys above.

Tinker Trail-don’t bother. Have a nice walk there instead. It’s a hot horrible push fest. Hire bikes are crap. Lovely view from top though-take some cacao pods with you for energy!
I wouldn’t ride a bike in St Lucia at all. The locals overtake on blind corners as a matter of habit.

Stick with the West End. Drink at DRAM! Comedy at the Stand then 10 min walk to Byres road/Ashton Lane for HBS or Ubiquitous Chip.

Aye, depends on what you’re after. Scenery/bimble or a big rocky descent? Arrochar is nice as you’ve got sea/mountains, but yeah, that Ardgarten loop is dull. Cobbler all the way.

    Ok then how about:
Stop/stay in Glasgow’s west end for food/evening out.
Following day either up to Ben Lomond or stay in the west of the Loch and head to Arrochar. A few nice wee routes up there and some great scenery. Descent of the Cobbler is ace.
Then north as far as you want-Fort William/Torridon/Skye or just play near Kinlochleven/Blackwater dam.
    Return via Aviemore/Laggan Wolftrax.

Titanium loveliness from Reilly. Slightly above price range, but I was pleasantly surprised how ‘cheap’ complete bikes were. Fwiw I’d have the U.P. If I could afford it.

You can hold a single company or a fund in one.

    Bit confusing…
You can hold as many companies shares up to the value of £20k as you want.

Hargreaves Lansdown and IG are probably the best trading platforms-IG I find has a very good mobile app if that’s how you want to trade.

Beware of so called ‘experts’. Choose your own method of buying shares. However I always find Robbie Burns blogs/Naked Trader/Proactive investors site has useleful info.

You won’t pay tax on stocks & shares ISA however there will be stamp duty and fee/transaction.
Don’t get suckered into Spread betting (for now), it’s gambling in effect. I occasionally do it to short stock and make a quick couple of tax free quid. I have also lost a few quid!

And yes, you can trade, but at low volumes you’ll be incurring fees per transaction and probably not worth the effort. Be aware also that it’s £20k in s&s ISA-anything above that will have to be in a separate trading account that will be taxable.

Don’t do a brewery tour, just drink a shed load of Black Sheep. Brimham Rocks & Fountains Abbey not too far away.

Depends on whether you want mountains or not? From Glen Finglas/Brig O Turk you can easily access Ben Ledi via the decent/mostly rideable track on the west of Ben Ledi/east side of Glen Finglas Reservoir 20 mins hike a bike to col from top of obvious path.
You then have got the option to summit Ben Ledi or head down Stank Glen. Take ncp back to Lade Inn and head back to Brig O Turk either by road/Trossachs trail (fairly brutal).

Sold house using PB last year. Professional photos and we gone to write up the description and best of all we largely bypassed the agent to speak direct with the viewers. £400 all in and got well above asking price. Average local agent wanted nearly £4K

Why anyone would pay high street agent prices is beyond me.

To be fair the op’s world might have just been turned upside down.

Thing is OP, now is the time to be as level headed as possible. Taking things out on people who are trying to help won’t help your cause.
As someone who has been through a very similar situation, the thing that helped me get through is talking openly with friends. I could elaborate, but I became insanely untrusting and jealous over an gf’s whereabouts. It turned me into someone I wasn’t. I just thank god I dodged that bullet.

    **** off jekkyl

    Well don’t you sound delightful.
I’m trying to think of any good reason why I’d want to look at gf’s car insurance policy that she couldn’t easily do herself. I’m guessing you’ve been harbouring thoughts of paranoia for some time?
