this thread started off as as genuine question regarding the quality of the magazine, and was not intended to turn into a slanging match
but in true forum style, certain people twist and turn things around and before you know it the whole question almost becomes irrelevant.

The question related to a large proportion of STW staff being tied up covering trade shows, when the quality of the mag was declining.
your initial reply came across as dismissive and rude to me
i was only questioning the quality of a magazine that i pay for every month, and have enjoyed immensley in the past.

im not complaining about the coverage of shows on the web site, what i am sying is it seems that the magazine is suffering i quality of content because staff are away at trade shows.
i know a sizeable chunk of income probably comes from the web site, but i thought the mag was the main focus, that may have changed now, and the mag maybe secondary, that would explain the reduction in the quantity and quality of articles over the last 6 months

not listening to your Readers of the magazine, and there is a sizeable number of people on here stating the mag has gone downhill lateley will result in said mag folding, i do hope not

i may be wrong, but the staff seem to take a great slice of their time travelling to trade shows, it may be they make more of their money from the web site, which is fair comment, maybe they need more staff, just thought the last mag was very poor, and i thought lookd like it had been rushed with little interesting content.

ive got a 2008 enduro sl in LARGE with e150 forks and it is superb, climbs fanatstically, descends great, never complained in the italian alps in summer, very light, and looks great IMHO. i bought it as a frame and fork package for £1400
i used to have a new style yeti 575, and did not like it at all, the back end felt very flexy under pedalling, i know 2 people who have snapped the carbon rear end, so i would say if you do pick the yeti go for the alu version. i sold the yeti after 4 months
for me the deal breaker for the enduro is the 5 year warranty on fork/shocks, i have returned the fork once for a new cartridge when i first got it, but since then it has been great, and spesh nevr complain about returns

ive bought quite a few howies items over the years
i must say the quality comapred to other makes is poor, specifically ive had 3 t shirts go into holes, jeans come adrift at the stitching

why do i keep buying them?
i like the style, and up to last week, they always replace without problems.

i cannot see how you can say the levers fit perfectly with shimano shifters, they just dont, at all.

**** it , ive binned the dx light, and bought a £200 hope one thats not as bright

i tried the tech m4 for about a week, how can hope make a brake lever that dosent sit well at all with shimano shifters
i could not get them i the correct position, so ended up swapping them for formula the one, which have been great

we have as a country brought down our manufacturing industry by buying cheap goods from asia, now they have us in a stranglehold and are increasing prices

it is true that there is now a great deal of personal information held on every one, any can be obtained by law enforcement agencies, IF there is a specific reason for requesting it.
What we cant do is trawl through people personal information just for the hell of it
