    The WHOIS at http://www.nominet.org.uk is a mechanism that lets anyone view a register database entry. Enter your full domain name and the WHOIS will respond with information about your domain name.

    The WHOIS
    What is the WHOIS and what information does it display?

    The WHOIS is Nominet’s free online search facility that you can use to find out whether a .uk domain name is available, and if not, details of who has registered it.

    The WHOIS will show the following information:

    * Registrant name
    * Registrant address (if the opt-out has not been chosen)
    * Registration Agent's name (Registrar)
    * Registration Agent's TAG name (Registrar's Tag)
    * Registration Agent's web address (Registrar's Web address)
    * Date of registration
    * Last time registration was updated
    * Date renewal is due
    * Registration status of domain name
    * Name server information

    Is Nominet allowed to publish my address details on the WHOIS?

    Yes, Nominet has a contract with every domain name holder under the Terms and Conditions of domain name registration. Under this contract, Nominet is entitled to publish the records its holds for your registration. Our Terms and Conditions draw our customers' attention to the opt-out facility.

    How can I opt out and what will the WHOIS say if I opt out?
    Nominet appreciates that some individuals are concerned about having their personal address published on the WHOIS and has responded to these concerns by giving non-trading individuals an opportunity to opt out of having their address details displayed. If you are a non-trading individual, you will be able to opt out of the WHOIS by speaking to your registrar, who in turn will modify the domain name record held by Nominet on your behalf so that your address details are not displayed. In cases where the domain name holder has chosen to opt out, the WHOIS will return the registrant's name but the address field will state: "This registrant is a non-trading individual who has opten to have their address omitted from the WHOIS service."

    What should I do if the information on the WHOIS is incorrect?

    In the first instance, you should speak to your registrar. For example, if your published registrant address is incorrect your registrar will be able to amend these records on Nominet's database

    something to consider very cearfully before buying these frames, when i spoke to the head honcho at jungle yesterday, he said that frames without shocks fitted were usually warranty claims that are due to be sent back to ibis, there could be something seriously wrong with these, and they had some warranty frames stolen with the new ones
    NOT saying this is the case, just passing on what i have been told

    when you have been in my job for a while you get used to carrying out investigations that either come to nothing, or do not get the result you expect.
    you soon come to realise that taking it personally for every incident would make you very ill, very quickly.
    so like most bobbies, i do my best with jobs, and if they are going nowhere, and i cant influence it, i move on and forget about it.
    Thats the only way to keep some form of sanity, its very annoying sometimes, but we are a small cog in a very large machine

    the original crime was north Yorks
    the frame was advertised in leeds, west yorks
    so, potentially , they would have a handling on leeds,west yorkshire, and the original theft/burglary in north yorks.
    sorry about the confusion, im really busy at work amnd typing between other stuff
    but take it from me ive spoken to west/north yorks c.i.d and jungle reps today, and done loads of other enq, and its not for the want of trying that this has not been progressed

    deluded,
    cant really get into the politics, but had a conversation with cid over that end who had started the investigation , then it came to a dead end, not the police fault!
    cant really comment any further
    was thinking of going over myself in the morning and locking him up, then handing him over to them!!!!

    any car parts shop will have the pads, dont buy cheap and nasty, they wear out quicker and dont stop you as well
    should be a 1 hour job maximum for a straightforward pad change, although make sure you are confident a cheap jhob could become a dangerous and costly mistake

    i had the task of viewing evidence of some child abuse 3 years ago, the videos i viewed affected me badly,i wont suggest on a public forum what should happen to these people. But the abuse they subject to children as young as 3 months is horrific beyond your wildest nightmares, you would not believe it.
    Terrible just terrible

    Local councils have the real power when it comes to cases like this, although the police obviuosly fell far below what they should have done.
    i worked closely with our local council aftre a racist murder by a gang of local yobs, and it took us 10 months of hard work gathering evidence to obtain 9 ASBO .
    After the ASBO were obtained it took us another 6 months of concerted effort to enforce the ASBO, but in the end it was worth it, the estate is now a much safer and attractive place to live, it is astounding how a very small group of yobs can bring an area down.
    it is very very difficult to address this behaviour due to the failings in the legal systems, but it can ,and should be addressed to stop the tragedy that has occured in leicester

    had a new shape 575 that i bought while in california, thought it was great till i started to riode in the wet and mud, tyre clearance was an issue for me, mud gathered in the rear with anything bigger than a 2.1
    looked great but i didnt like the ride, seemed to blow through the travel too quickly

    the original post was aquestion to everyone who buys the mag, i was not sure myself, didnt know how many staff were employed, so wanted more info.
    i have no problems with the coverage on the web site of trade shows etc, etc, i looked at a few of the reports myself
    the question i asked was it affecting the magazine quality, which i believe has been in decline, i may be wrong, but thats my opinion.
    i hadnt though about the networking side of att trade shows, which im sure is important,i still enjoy the magazine, but i feel the quality of reviews has declined, for e.g no weights of forks given in last mags test, they are only small things but im my opinion add to the impression that the mag is rushed a little.
    it must be very hard to keep coming up with new stories and articles every month, and there still are some great articles, but i dont feel there are as many inspirational articles as before.
    i used to photocopy articles and send them to friends they were so good to read, havent done this for a good while.
    its not like im slagging the mag off for the sake of it, i subscribe to it every month and have done right from the start, but as a few others have said i usually open it now flick through it then put it down, i used to read it from cover to cover in the early days and thoroughly enjoy most of it.
