He said he was close to his limit the other day and couldn't keep attacking. He does need to put some more time on Contador though.

What's happened to Lance though. Lots of talk at the start of the tour and he's given up now and seems to just be out for a ride. Most disappointing.

I'm reliving the retro days at the moment. Just restored a 1992 Stumpy:

Just Google'd 'lemon party'. Urban dictionary gives an interesting definition, haha.

It's been a few years since I had a set of wheels from Merlin, but I found the ones I've had in the past ok.

There's always a few Flite saddles for sale on RetroBike. Going rate for a good condition one is £30-£40.

I think they did a re-issue recently of the Flite's, priced around £80.

I need some black out blinds for my kids room. In summer they won't go to sleep at their usual time and they wake up at 6am (in turn waking me up).

I got 'Follow Me' on DVD. Very much looking forward to watching it later 🙂

I finally finished my '92 Stumpjumper restoration yeserday. Had a quick ride on it and was really pleased with the steel/rigid/canti-brake machine.

I've had a laptop in the past and a bike using V12 finance in the past. Paid both off prior to the 12 months payment/interest free period being over. Had no problems at all with them. Quite a useful thing to have.

Must be awful to have bad neighbours, I sympathise with those of you who have problems with them. I've got elderly neighbours either side of me and the worst I get is the off bit of bass from the tv when they watch 'Deal or No Deal'.

Lets hope there is a cull of jobsworths at the local councils.

Speaking from experience, there is a few about.

Suicide no hander over the 'Nissan' jump at fort william dh final yesterday. Quality.

I agree with that. Good sportsman ship given that his chain was off and all he could do was roll to the bottom of the hill, why not style it up.

Horrible feeling when someone's tried to nick your car. At least you still have it though. Happened to be a good few years ago when I had my car in storage. Luckily enough a flat battery meant I kept the car, as it would have gone otherwise.

It is brilliant fun. I rode at Manchester a few years ago and had a great day. Bit daunting at the top of the banks the first few times and a bit weird riding a fixie, but well worth doing at least once.

Cheshire west, have just moved across the road to a multi million pound office, complete with Hotel and restraunts etc,and sold their old office on paper to a univercity.

Is it not a PFI arrangement they've moved to?

Local authorities are going to go through some hard times (financially due to the new government) over the next few years so hopefully wasteful spending will be minimised.

One of my two was eating Jelly Babies and told me she didn't like Black people (Black Jelly Babies). Gave me a giggle in a childish way.

Bit random that. What were people sleeping in, just caravans?

The pilot episode was amazing. Think I got through 2 seasons before thinking it would go on forever, and gave up. Not sure if I can be bothered getting back in to it now.

100 one-arm ones is not too bad after a bit of training. Me and my training partner conquered it relatively quickly last summer. Our current programme has plyometric (sp?) press-ups in pyramid sets. So we start at 10, then do 9 etc down to 1, them come back up to 10 again. The last few sets are killers (8,9,10 reps). We're also doing the same thing with one-arm press-up's, but doing them ascending. After doing the plyo's we only got to 6 (starting at 1 and going up a rep at a time), then back down to 1 again. Will hopefully get to 10 in the next few weeks.

Keep up the good work everyone, stick in 🙂

I suffered something similar a few weeks ago (although on my right knee). I think I'd tore my MCL (ligament). Went to the docs who could only suggest rest…which worked to be fair. I still get a little niggle every now and again, but have been back on the bike and weight training as normal.

If I was you, I'd rest fully for a week (or maybe do an upper body session at the gym). Then introduce cycling etc back in to your routine. Look up MCL injuries online and their recommendations for recovery.

    Hope you're sorted soon.

All suggestions above aside, how about this: Jet powered ride-on lawnmower

Bit more power! Nice eBay purchase that.

-19 prescription, poor people, that sounds really bad. My eyes are -5 and pretty bad in my opinion.

Pro-Napalm. This stuff is rocket fuel. Tried it once and never again. The 'come-down' was horrific. Link: http://www.predatornutrition.com/pd-pro-napalm-1-bottle.cfm

On the other hand, I've found this stuff really good (but had to be made quite dilute): http://www.phd-fitness.co.uk/store/p/785/1/PhD-Nutrition-Battery—1Kg.html

I can sympathise with you, I've been getting the similar pains but in my right knee. I read on the net about moving the cleats forward a few mm's might help. I did this and could hardly walk the next day, knee was really sore.

Went to the doctors who said to rest and she'd book me a physio. A week off the bike and the gym helped, then started back at the gym and had my first ride back on the bike two weeks later. Moved cleats back around 5mm's now which seems to have helped. Had a ride out today and knee seems ok, but can feel a bit of pain on the MCL (medial collateral ligament). I recon even when I get a physio appointment they'll be no help unless they are a cycling/sports enthusiast. Must save up for a private physio who's sports specific.

LOL, I subscribe. I quite like the magazine to be honest. As someone who enjoys going to the gym I find some of the advice in there quite good. Sorry 🙁

I'm out too this weekend. Had a brilliant ride out last Sunday, come Monday my right knee was killing me. Torm the mcl. Gutted, climbing the walls now and need to get out!

I was going to enter when there was only 200-odd entries. 400-odd sounded a joke so I didn't bother. Good look to you all though, should be interesting with the traffic on any singletrack sections. Hats off to the few doing it singlespeed 🙂

There's some sketchy downhills on the borrowdale bash. Great fun! The road section up the pass is a hard one.

I like the Skiddaw house loop. Nice downhill round the back of Skiddaw, but a bitch of a climb up lattrigg.

One mtb session a week unfortunately. No time through the week with work/kids. Getting three gym sessions in during the week, but can't wait to get out on the bike on a weekend!

I was up there this morning. North trail is closed due to ice/thawing. Top section of the South loop is closed for the same reason. Blue route is open.

I'd never rode the Blue route before the snow/ice, I quite like it. Couple of loops of the Blue and the 1/2 of the South loop, meant quite a good ride out.

Snowflake spokes were weird. Must have been a right arse to build a wheel up like that!

Where are they £100? The Superstar site still says £159.99 (unless my sunday lunch is clouding my vision, lol).

I've just got some Marz 66 RC's quite cheap second hand. They're soooo smooth, it's like no other fork I've ever rode with. Travel is adjustable from 150-170mm's too. Not 'that' light, but well worth the extra few grams 🙂

Owwww…they look interesting. I've found my Mountain King 2.4's spot on in the snow and ice – even a bit too grippy in the snow (giving a lot of drag).

I don't think you can go too far wrong for how much PS3's are selling for now. £250 should get you a bundle with COW MW2, which will keep you occupied for (too) many hours.

I don't find normal films in Blue Ray that impressive (like Casino Royal etc). But animated stuff looks amazing – such as the Simpsons Movie, Wall-E etc. Prices on BR's have dropped a bit now, making them competitive with DVD's in most cases.

I got a road bike on it around 18 months ago. It's not yours until you make the final payment. This is supposed to be around £10 (according to the literature).
