I have had good service before don’t get me wrong but its the communication that’s the worst. I understand dispatch times can be slow sometimes but when emails aren’t replied to and I’ve taken time off work to allow for delivery (as I can’t take delivery at work) I understandably am a bit cheesed off. I will now miss the courier delivery as no one is available to sign and will have to reschedule wasting even more time …. not happy !!!

I have had the ceo email also.As I was off work this week I ordered some wheels on monday and expected them by end of the week so I could ride them thurs\ fri. But no dispatch email. I emailed Wednesday only to be told by the CEO that they will be sent by friday as they were busy. So my riding was not going to happen. I recived an email today (Saturday) saying it will be collected by courier monday for delivery Tuesday. But I’m back to work next week so there will be no one in to sign for the wheels. I cannot get them sent to work as I commute in on bike. So a wasted week and unsatisfactory service and now even longer to wait as courier will have to be rearranged.

Have 4 vapours. All tubeless, lovely wheel, quite light and still running true after loads of abuse. The rear hubs have loud clicking like hopes so depends if you like the quiet stealth approach or a bit of noise.

I have the vapours. A very good wheelset . I can’t give you the technical breakdown that science officer has. But they are pretty light and very stiff. I run them tubeless and have has no problems. They’ve had many a wet muddy hammering and have performed well. I’ve used rear as geared and on my single speed. Both with no problems. The rear has a fairly loud click like hopes but I like that. Hope that helps a bit.

The superstar are 3/32 as I guess is the chain ring. Try to use all same, mines all 1 1/8. I use halo fat foot cog and velosolo single speed alloy chain ring with any 1 1/8 chain. Never had a single problem and very strong.

I think that makes sense to me. Slight 1-ish degree headtube angle change, would b 15mm lower at front.? Am I reading it right ?
    So should be OK then.

The on-one tugs as mentioned by Tonyd work fine on my scandal. I have the horizontal ss swap outs.

Im riding the kona as well. Rigid with carbon forks. It flies, running 32-15. It suits where I ride, mainly thetford forest so no big hills. Also on-one scandal ss. Love em both.

I can recommend the scandal and the unit. running both 29er’s. the kona rigid and the scandal with rebas, much prefer the kona. so simple and light compared to some bikes, so much fun !!!!

If its just for road I run a dolan pre cursa track frame. Nice, light, very agile and fast away from the lights :-) . They do a model with eyelets.

Currently run full 1 1/8th set up on the SS. Did snap a couple of chains on my geared rig hence why I went 1 1/8. Looking at changing gearing and chain due for change so was wondering whether to go 3/32 as bits easier to come by and bit cheaper and lighter.

I only ride hard tail. Currently scandal 29er and kona unit 29er single speed. Have ridden a few full sus but prefer the feel of ht. I ride with a few guys on full sus and have never been left standing, just work on that fitness :-)

Already run a riser bar and raised stem. Am only 6-3ft but have long legs.
I have seen the surly and at the moment they are my only option. The big boys (specialised etc )go up to 23 but only as a whole bike option.

Ive seen the specialised but they dont supply just the frame. I dont want a whole bike just the frame. I have a 21″ 29er but not big enough to be comfortable on long rides. Thanks to the first suggustion but needs to be modern and take discs and suspension forks.

    Hi guys
i am totally sold on the scandal now. just got to decide colour. I’m thinking black or silver, green doesn’t quite cut it for me.
Looking at the new halo vapour wheelset. got halo freedoms on my 26 and they’re bomb proof ( for xc anyway). just forks to decide on the I can start shopping :-)

    Thanks guys.
Think I’m getting won over. All good comments.
Was looking at frames around £300 but as the Scandal is half price at the moment for green or £100 off for the others it seems a good deal.

A lot of riders I agree, hopefully it will stay friendly….
