You might find a Santa Cruz Hightower fits the bill. Start fitness had some for under 3k not too long ago.

Sounds to me like the boss needs to pay to get some more staff in to cover summer holiday absence. No one ever gets to their death bed and wishes they’d taken less holidays!

Got dt 350s on my cx which are super smooth. Currently Building some Chris kings on to new 29r rims now. They’ll be smooth too as I’ve had the hubs over 10 years now! Got some Hopes and they are lush too. Don’t see why to go elsewhere

I spent october in north vancouver and trailforks app along with a chat to a few of the locals on the trails was all i needed to get going on seymour and fromme , its all sign posted and graded too which helps. nice hike to the cleveland dam for the missus. If you go to north van be sure to visit the shipyards tap and barrel bar after your days ride.
squamish is good if youve got a hire car, good hire options in town too, and theres some great hikes round the cheif and the 4 lakes for the missus if she likes a stroll.

There’s a young scrote that drives past my place regularly with what appears to the the rear spoiler off an F1 car bolted to the roof of his 1.2 Ford Fiesta.

Ran some enve ams on my 26r yeti fs. Amazing stiffness. Expensive when they crack. I’m back on alloys till I can afford to replace!

the best ways to own a large house are:
    Earn a 6 figure salary
    dont have kids
drive a 15 year old car
buy a big old wreck of a place and renovate it. Do this right and the value you add to the house will be greater than the cost of the renovations.
borrow more money over a longer time frame.

Most I could justify was £1800 for a custom shop USA made Gibson, bought 2nd hand so wont depreciate, and it plays like an absolute dream, and as playing guitar is a passion for me it’s been worth every penny. That said my first decent guitar was a £250 made in Japan fender strat and it too plays like a dream.

Having ridden a giant e trance at bike park Wales for a day I found the bike way too heavy on the downs clunking over everything and nose diving the drop offs, much more of a handful to ride than the yeti I normally use even though the uphills were a hoot though that all changed when the battery went flat! For me I’d sooner have a top end mtb than an ebike at the same Money!

Took mine to Vancouver with klm. £120 didn’t pre book it in on the way there but no charge on the way back as I did book it in a few days before return flight. Customs had opened the bike bag for inspection on arrival but no issues otherwise.

You could get a very nice used Mercedes ML, which is a thoroughly spacious practical car and luxurious drive. Anything post 2006 avoids Mercedes unreliable period.

Whyte 629 here. They pop up on sale around the 850 mark now and then. Awesome bike.
    529 also looks a bargain https://winstanleysbikes.co.uk/whyte-529-29er-2018-bike?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrIrHjoGG4AIVApPtCh3N3wiHEAQYASABEgLyXfD_BwE#matt-lime-large

Just put some Clark’s 180 rotors on my yeti. £11 off eBay each. Replaced some warped Hayes and seem thicker than usual. So far so good.

as a frequent flyer with the technology of noise cancelling head phones, crying babies on flights is not so much of an issue for fellow passengers these days. Etihad in flight service is one of the best I’ve ever flown, the flight attendants are brilliant at looking after little ones.

I too have considered a change of career but on balance I take more positives out of my work than negatives. though sometimes it is a close split! its a roller coaster of good times and hard times.

Is there really nothing you can focus on with your work to help cancel out the negatives as often these things are just a frame of mind? No one has the perfect job. Otherwise have you considered staying in the industry you’re in but doing something different, i.e become a personal home tutor / coach or if you currently work in schools, perhaps look at teaching adults or going in to college education?

A wise man once said to me its worth spending money on a really nice guitar (like a Gibson, Martin or Ramirez, all of which make stunning playing and sounding guitars ) as they are an absolute joy to play, you’ll end up playing for hours a day, and that is how you get to be a really good guitar player

last few years Ive only ever booked ski trips through Skworlds black friday deals. Admittedly you have to be flexible on dates and resort and be quick as the bargains are snapped up. EG this season we are in a Signature catered chalet  flights acccomo transfer and lift pass £800 each. Wouldve been double that if bought normally / well in advance. they might have some options for you….
