My Hightower is a good 7lb heavier than the yeti asr5 it replaced with alike for like groupset . Had to get fitter for the climbs but it certainly feels more strong and stable on the descents. As Teresa may would say.

Audi s3 sport back. It’s what I’ll be getting if my old Mercedes doesn’t make it back from the garage on Tuesday!

wondering around the Rolex dealer in Bahrain today and found a sports model actually in stock for the first time in a while!
    sea dweller
had a try on and whilst it was a lovely piece, didn’t feel quite so special on the wrist at a price of £10,000! I’ll stick with my vintage sub for now…

Never been into dirt jumping so doesn’t effect me directly but i do worry for the rest of the downhill runs and tricky sections of the red run, could they go the same way? The littering is inexcusable though.

Got em on my gravel bike and they are fast and light on hardpack and loose gravel and tarmac. Can do rocky chunder but susceptible to tubeless pinch flats in sharp rock. Sketchy in mud!

in 2020 i spent about £4k on new bikes and parts, sold around £1500 of old parts so Im into about £2.5k for the year
I dont envisage any new bikes, significant upgrades or parts replacements in 2021 other than new chains, brake pads, tyre sealant. say £200.
    I do 4k km a year so thats about 33p / km
Seems reasonable for the joy those kms bring

Whilst I don’t doubt the exceptional build quality and craftsmanship of the Grand Seiko, I just cant get my head passed the fact its the same brand that I have in my seiko 5 auto that cost me £40 30 years ago. It just doesn’t have that intangible allure that an Omega or Rolex might have.

That’s a Stunning looking bike. Really tempted but can’t justify it as I already have a perfectly good Cannondale caadx for gravelling about on!

    Unimog.
Or go a bit older and learn to love the leather and auto and get a 5 yr old Mercedes ml. High position big boot and swish interior. Auto was a revelation for me with a dodgy knee. Wouldn’t be without it now.

I’d live where I live now. Big garden. Vale of belvoir on the doorstep with lots of awesome trails and road cycling. 1mile to the nearest village. 1h drive to peaks or sherwood pines.

Ill be getting an Orbea WILD FS team or whatever it happens to be called in 2025 when I go full electric- MTB for my 50th birthday, not to replace but to compliment my acoustic enduro rig whilst I still have the lungs and legs for the climbs. Until then its make do with riding and maintaining the current fleet ( FS, HT, summmer and winter road bikes, CX-gravel and retro singlespeed)

Had a 90 for 3 years. Was a fun weekend off-road car but no good for daily driving. Too slow thirsty and cumbersome. Always had something that needed fixing. Leaked a lot. Ball joints needed doing. Chassis welding. Steering box replacement. Door locks were iffy. Heating was lowsy. Was ready for a gearbox rebuild but got stolen off my drive. Bought for 3k. Spent about 3.5k in maintenance in the 3 years I had it. Glad i got it out of my system. Probably won’t have another. Get a modern 4×4 instead

    Highly recommend these guys. https://www.youtube.com/c/DrumEd

Filmed by an old school mate and I’ve been following these for a year and getting some good progress. Especially the 1 min bitesize.

Had one of these and ran it from 78k to 165k. Clutch and flywheel goes at 100k. £800 to replace. Suspension and electrical gremlins appearEd around 150k. Otherwise routine maintenance and it drove like a dream.

my little springer spaniel also had fatty lumps from the age of around 9 or so and these continued to appear and/or slowly grow for the rest of his life ( he lived to 15!). Vets checked them every year and biopsy was just they were fatty lumps, nothing to be worried about.

Ive got a 30 year old NAD amp which sounds great when i stream radio and spotify to it via a £30 Logitech Bluetooth dongle wired into the aux stage. I have to run the amp volume quite high but other than that its all good. id test your amp first though with a cd or other input to see if its still functioning ok before doing anything else

Not bought from Evans since the take over. Was a regular customer till that point as they always had a sale on and I got 10%discount through a staff rewards scheme. Mainly use merlin cycles or wiggle now as they have all I need.

For me it’s my Chris king hubs. Not just for the red anodising and machined internals, but that they run so smooth. And have done so for 15 years!

tried golf a few times, ball is too small, hole is too far away and the stick is a ridiculous shape to be of any use whatsoever. Utter waste of time and best way to spoil a nice walk. IMO obvs.

Still riding a 28 year old
Kona. It’s not quite up to the pace of my 2017 carbon enduro rig but still a lot of fun!

Ive been running a set on various bikes for the last 15 years, all I do is strip out with wd40 and relube with the chris king ring drive lube twice a year and honestly they still run as smooth as the day i got them. only need an occassional tighten up on the preload.

Went through exactly this at the end of may this year. Had him 15yrs from a pup. Faithful companion. Sooooo many happy memories. It’s tough. Still not over it and not sure I ever will be. But as they say it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.
