The guys in the tent next to ours at BBF had a stumpy nicked but somehow got it back, hed just left it out the back of his tent and I guess the theives got spooked and ditched it. I always lock my bike in the car at races, its just not worth the risk.

got air shox front n back on my race bike ( 100mm travel ) but have to agree its coils f/r all the way for my hooligan DH bike, wouldnt trust airshock to hold out with the abuse it gets.

I live literally across the road from the LL Derby branch and do find them fairly unhelpful, (have to book stuff in weeks in advance) disorganised ( they forget to put you in the diary so when you do turn up weeks later, err sorry mate its not booked in) and expensive, assuming they have what you want in stock, ( its usually err sorry mate we'll have to order that in for you)!
hence i buy most stuff off here or merlins and now fix all my own bikes my self

to the age of 30, got through all sorts usually swapping every year, and had about 7 bikes at one point, since then, had the same 3 bikes, for about 5 years now and wont be swapping unless I break one!

tis true this sport of ours is getting stupidly and unjustifiably expensive, kit wise…the way i get round this is to buy frames off ebay for 50-65% RRP that are in good nick and get new forks from discount retailers like merlin CRC etc, means I can build a pair of £3k ( new price ) rigs (currently a bullit and a superlight) for about £1k a piece. the need for newer shiner every year doesnt faze me.

6inch travel pre 04 i think (vanilla rc models ) went to 7 when they put the 5th element on though in told a 7 inch shock will fit the old 6 inch frame! checkout kranked 4 on dvd for what a bullit can do!!

to be honest the paintwork is still mint, im second owner but the bike was as new when I picked it up in 04…maybe treat her to a new shock and keeps…

had mine for 5 years now and its been all over the UK and done a few 24hr races, trail centres, peaks epics and even down the towpath to the pub…love it feels like more than 100mm of travel, absolutely flies downhill….ano finish looks mint after a wash, just swapped the forks for some reba teams in time for the bristol bike fest, gonna give er another blast this weekend…

been riding 100mm forks on my main ride for the last 10 years, see no reason to go longer for UK riding, though Ive got a 6inch travel bike for occasional soirees in the alps..

i ditched my no-good missus in december and ive not looked back, ive so much free time to do what i want when I want, joined a ballroom dancing class, joined the gym and can play my guitar or ride my bikes or go partying till 4am as i please, it also means ive got a load more ladies to date rather than looking at the same miserable face every day! make the most it aint all bad out there…………..
