never been to mulberry cafe but: used to ride a lot around strelley lots of bridleways and paths to go at even the old nottingham canal towpath still has a few miles of good track on it, you can get over to the erewash canal as well which is a good few miles of towpath. Used to stop at the Broad Oak in strelley village which always had a good pint on and some pub snacks. lots of out door seating too. bit further north is bestwood country park, another old haunt and loads of miles of path to ride. Big best western hotel in the middle at bestwood lodge is good for a snack and pint too.

was in Lille for the Kraftwerk gig in november, cracking place to walk around. loads of cool bars, restaurants, cake / coffee shops, old churches, art galleries and a little rock pub that does karaoke, Le Black Night rock cafe! just outside town is a cool little zoo with rhinos and apes, and a massive park to walk / bike around. Stayed at the Grand Hotel bellevue which is as central as you can get and arrived by eurostar. Was there for two days/nights but couldve defo stayed longer!

there’s nowt wrong wi my 26er and i cant afford a brand new bike just yet! And looking at ebay theres some pretty tasty used 26r super bikes that would be near 4-5k new, going for buttons!

Keep the mazda. Put the 4k you were going to spend on the Aygo in a bank account and call it ‘mazda repair/maintenance fund). Should last you another 8 years before that runs out i reckon! all cars need maintenance, at least with yours its better the devil you know. if you want new and shint lease a brand new mazda 3 for £200 a month

I hit 40 last july and had a massive panic, bought two new full sussers and a big house in the countryside, then reality checked and slowly came to realise that I have all I need for a happy life, and that despite having everything i ever wanted in material possessions, good career etc. it was the people and places you go that really mean most in life so I am refocusing on that, being with friends and family and making more time to travel, rather than n+1 bikes, watches, guitars cars etc.
life is damn short, dont waste a second of it! the material objects dont matter as much as you think they do!

interest free credit is a bit of a myth in my eyes, yuo can always negotiate a harder deal with cash as the interest is not really ‘free’, its just absorbed into the list price and hence mark up on the bike you buy.

pay cash buying a model a few years old works for me, I know what to look for and go on condition, saves me thousands. Only thing I use credit for is my mortgage

Career in a good place and can afford do pretty much whatever i want. No kids though and not been able to settle with one woman for too long bit i still think im 20 and theres plenty of time for all that!

will turn 40 in two weeks time but ride as much MTB and road as ever, smashed a 112 mile sportive on sunday, knees a bit sore but loved every minute. Will probably move more toward road cycling as the years fly by, as I cant be arsed driving miles to trail centres

Skoda superb estate. Incredible spec for the money, basically an audi a6 without the badge. Acres of space and 50mpg.

When i was a stupid and impressionable teen it was 1.80 for a pack of twenty marlboro, never got through more than a a pack a week, got a little older and realised they do **** all good for you and swapped them 5 years later for mountainbiking as a more productive yet probably more expensive hobby! But i mean nearly a tenner a pack, honestly, why would you? Thats a new santa cruz a year if you smoke a pack a day!

27 was wild crazy and lacking in direction, still discovering myself and what the world was all about. Now I’m pushing 40 I’ve still the same zest for life but with much more confidence direction and financial stability!

£2k!!!!!! That’s serious overseas hols money! My experience of centre parcs in sherwood forest, it was fun for a weekend but the place was seriously rammed queues for everything and no real feeling of escapism i look for on a holiday, nice idea staying in a cabin in the woods and to be fair the waterpark was ace and the nieces loved it but prob wouldn’t go again.

I just dont get it and i fly a lot, I never switch my phone off and not crashed yet! Also some emirates flights now allow you to make calls and use Wifi. If it really was a danger surely they’d confiscate phones at security ‘just in case’.
