For an extremely expensive frame, I’d want the very best customer service. I wouldn’t expect a new frame after 8 years, but maybe an offer to repair (or repair at cost) or at least to recommend a manufacturer who could do it.

Jones frames aren’t my cup of tea, but its service like this that puts me off bikes like evil etc,

Maybe exposure customer service could give them some pointers!

It’s all rollable, plenty of rocks. Its around 18km in length.

The beast at around 38km is a combination of trails off the mbr and dragons back.

Just a couple of things I have noticed locally. They tend to overprice their properties in my area, compared to other estate agents. Because of this none of their properties seem to sell. But I suppose it is a clever way to get sellers onboard.

I think you have to pay upfront, whether you sell with them or not. When I sold my house last year through a local agent, I only paid when they sold my house.

I once had a cannondale cx bike. Found it uncomfortable and much prefer my xc 29er. I’ve sold the cx – not for me.

Yes tell us what broke, the frame? How much do you weigh?

To me a 140mm bike should be expected to be ridden on demanding trails, otherwise what’s the point of 140mm travel.

Are you sure the weight is 13.7kg (30lbs)? Seems a lot for a Tallboy.

Always liked the Tallboy, maybe my next bike!

I’m still amazed that Paula Radcliffe’s marathon record still stands from 15 years ago. 😉

I think I’d still go for the whyte at cyb, especially the black routes. To confuse things though, I’m around 8 ish minutes quicker around the marin on the giant than I am on the whyte. The anthem is a 27.5, not the 29er your looking at.

I live locally and its always whyte at cyb and penmachno, anthem or hardtail at marin.

I’ll see if I can find some to order next week then. thanks

100mm is ok for the marin, id prefer 120mm for cyb and penmachno. How about a spark 29 with the 120 travel?

I have a 100mm giant anthem, quick bike, quicker than my whyte 129, but I prefer the whyte at cyb.

Being back the Ruthin one I say…….😀 Seriously though we need one in North Wales now that Ruthin has been abandoned……. good spot for some new organiser to come in.

Anyway sorry for the thread hijack.

If no one is home during the day you will still need central heating as starting a log fire after work in a cold house isn’t nice.

I had a log burner in my old house and have a gas fire now. Log burner is more homley and warmer, but also more faff, cleaning it, chopping wood, kindling and so on. Also you need to feed it every 1.5 to 2 hrs, so during the day on weekends will have to be around to do that.

I would probably go gas, but as you have a free supply of logs then that could sway it, although with gas central heating.

I have a perception triumph sot. Great kayak and the dog could sit behind you in the open luggage compartment quite easily. Will it stay there though, or would the water be too tempting?!!!!

Unsure if I would go there in October though. Fine in the summer for the beaches.

I picked something similar up before, I think we are getting stung imo.

Not sure. I feel that I pay a lot of tax as it is. My wage is taxed. I pay NI. I pay VAT on things I buy. I pay over £350/yr on car tax. I pay council tax. I do a lot of mileage and what, 70% of fuel is taxed.

I appreciate everyone else who works pays as well 😉

    Where is it all going?

Wow…… what is happening in this country. Were they deliberately poisoned, did they come across some reminant from before or are they involed somehow.

Any chemist know how easy it is to make?

My gripe is why do these things take so long to sort? I think he was caught in September last year, so some 9 months on and still not sorted it out.

IMO if the authorities cannot get their act together, the rider should be given the benefit of the doubt until the case is heard and resolved.

If they have evidence to ban him, then ban him now and dont drag the thing on.

Sorry for your loss – difficult time for all. I went through something similar in 2016 when i lost my dad. People are pretty resilient and whilst you never forget someone really close, things get easier with time.

It will be packed on Snowdon this weekend as the forecast is also good.

Dont think there is anything good offroad around Llyn, except for some cheeky stuff mayby.

Im in a new house and need mower as well, unsure to go petrol or battery though. My garden is smaller than tours though but too big for an electric mower.

I live close to both and like both. id wait for a dry spell to do penmachno, so this week id go to cyb. Do the beast (black grade), minus the firetrack loop which is about 30km.

A less technical one is the dragons back (red) at around 30km.

By my reckoning a 27% ish cut in real term wages since 2010 using compound interest. Appreciate its not just NHS though. And now a 2% yearly increase, RPI in February 2018 is 3.6%.

Thing I found is that a 2 man lightweight tent is really a 1.5 man tent.

I had a nallo but that was a four season tent and needed good ventilation.

How about a hilleberg anjan, a three season tent with better ventilation than a nallo? Expensive and not ultralight though.

I personally wouldnt trust an ultralight tent in poor conditions. I once had a terra nova voyager superlight, very lightweight tent but very flimsy ad well. Id prefer the extra weight for better piece of mind.

I would say yes as well. The whyte bikes are not really light, my xc carbon hardtail is probably 9lbs lighter than my whyte t129rs. It will be quicker on everything except on really rough stuff.

I have a carbon xc, giant anthem and whyte t129. They are in order of light to heavy, and in order of how fast I can complete a lap of the marin. Now CYB is i different matter though!

Otherwise just spend a lot of time riding and building fitness.

I know a few builders who have had their trade accounts suspended because of them not paying the builders merchant.

I wouldnt pay in advance. Especially if you dont know him. Maybe a contract with a 2 weekly payment for work done to date?

    Ok next question.

Where does the deposit come from at exchange of contracts. My money is tied up in the house that I own and will be selling and a small mortgage I’m taking out for the house I’m buying.

Does the solicitor draw 10% of the value of the house I’m purchasing from my mortgage at exchange of contract?

    thanks.

I assume I will have to tell the electric and gas co. and bt of the move beforehand or you wont have them turned on on completion?
