Sorry to hear about this and hope you get the bikes back.

Why didn’t the Police do the investigative work that you have done?

I always thought that if water can go one way (wick sweat out of the jacket fabric) then surely it can go the other way as well and leak rainwater in?

Did Snowdon on Saturday, up from Pen y Gwryd – first snow and crampons of the winter.

Did the Snowdon horseshoe on Sunday, just under 20km starting and ending in Pen y Gwryd.

I enjoy hiking as well – generally switch between hiking and cycling.

I live in Snowdonia so have some good mountains close by. Have hiked across Majorca (GR11), did the GR20 in Corsica last year (hard), and have just come back from the lakes, did part of the coast to coast across the lakes up to Shap, camping on the way.

You could also take the forest from the Tarw side of CYB, and go along forest roads up and down towards Penmaenpool.

We did a 2 day hike south to north a few weeks ago. There is no rideable route from east to west over the mountains, without a lot of hike a bike / carrying / potential ankle breaking.

Go from CYB towards Dolgellau, through the forest and minor road, and take the Mawddach trail towards Barmouth – get a pint in Penmaenpool on the way!!

We depend too much on cheap imports from China – ppe?? We need to bring more business back into the UK.

Hope everything turns out ok for you.

I’m afraid I agree with your father – without an offer on your current house, you are not in a position to move – unless you have enough of a deposit to take out a mortgage on the new house?

Ahh…. I thought it stored old fault codes, but yes it makes sense, if the car is driving fine when it was at the garage, then no fault code showed up – which is what the dealer told me.

Might have to describe the problem to them then.

    dyls

thanks – Its been in before but apparently no fault codes recorded.

Back to a dealer it goes then!

The car is a 320 diesel. Been used intermittently since March – but battery fine according to the AA. The battery was new last year.

There are no other symptoms – just the once in a while starting issue!

Seems the yearly Summits pack I got in January is ending in August – anyone know if we are getting a refund if we paid for 12 months but are only getting 7?

Personally if I were strava I’d try a yearly fee of £5.99 / £9.99 and bank on much more subscribing up to it. Just my thoughts though!

    dyls

I pay I think £18.99 for the Summit membership. Don’t know if that will be cancelled now and refunded or what?

If everyone subscribed for £1.99 a year, 55 million subscribers would give an income of over £100 million, not bad for a company with 180 staff.

Not sure I would get the use of it for £6.99 a month though, may just use Garmin instead!

I travel around 2 hours into/from work which is a lot of time. Now that I have an office set up at home, with full access into my work’s IT system, together with ms teams, I will be looking at cutting my days in the office once we get back to normal.

However I want to go in for that face to face interaction, but don’t need to every day. It will save me a bit of money in fuel, vehicle wear and tear and save me approximately 2hrs a day!

Realistically I think that travel within the UK will be restricted until a vaccine is found – travelling to China (Italy/Spain..) caused the problem in the first place and once travel opens up again, internationally or internally, I can see us on a second lockdown soon after!

I was hoping to do a hiking holiday in September but doubt it now, can’t see things being normal until a vaccine is found. Also can see insurances going up.

Asking for a friend, say they get a basic wage, plus shift allowance plus a percentage for attendance records, good sick record, is the 80% based on basic wage or the actual gross wage.

They have been told basic wage, so 80% of basic wage is much less than 80% of normal gross wage? They are due for 1st payment next week.

Was looking at a new SC, probably a hightower, but didn’t get round to testing one.

I’m unsure about the shock location, you need to stop to change shock settings and with dirt getting onto it in the winter?

Maybe someone who has one will be able to comment better?

I like the look of Intense, except they are very multicoloured frames!

Strange its gone to 500 people – wouldn’t GDPR prevent the sharing of private information, unless of course consented?

I myself wouldn’t want private medical information shared, except to maybe the boss, line manager and occupational health

Lots say that the NN isn’t grippy in the wet. Why is this though? Tyre compound? spacing of lugs? what else?

I’ve found them to be ok for armoured trail centers!

Mine were sent to jtech by my local bike shop and they came back better than they were new – really pleased with them.

That’s pretty unbelievable really – they offer a job at 22k, she accepts and leaves her job and gets a contract for 22k, now they say it should have been 18k and want the difference back.

What if your partner was on 20k previously, she would now have to take a paycut.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I recently sent you £Xxx as a paypal payment in error to your paypal account. I have tried to contact you unsuccessfully to date. I apologise for my error but I would be grateful if you could please refund me the amount sent, otherwise I will have no alternative but to submit a claim through the Magistrates Court, which I don’t want to do as it was my initial error.

    regards

Just thought I would update this since completing the hike in September. Although I hiked a lot before going, I still found it very hard and tiring, especially when carrying around 13kg in a backpack. Technically it is no harder than Tryfan/Brystle Ridge, but there is nothing in the UK that quite prepares you for the terrain.

We would get up around 6am and be on our way by 7am to avoid the sun on the initial climbs.

The huts are very basic with ok ish food. We camped each night and only had a storm on one evening, when camping at around 1900m.

We also did the detour up Monte Cinto on day 4 which included a lot of scrambling.

(I’ll upload photos later, when I have worked out how to do it!)

If they deliberately mowed down the policeman and then carried on driving – then 100% intention.

A local authority can create a bridleway using the highways act. Two things to consider, Who would own the land and maintain it afterwards, are locals likely to object to it.

So i set up the laser in the garden tonight. Think I have done it now. But what a faff, so I have left it on the tent. No way you want to be tying knots in the pole hood cord when its gusting and raining!

    dyls
    Full Member

I think the laser competition and laser compact are exactly the same tent, apart from the pole.

It was definitely rain coming through – we are talking capel curig rain!! Only a very small droplets though!

Pretty sure I have to undo the knots on the pole hood cover, and feed them through the loops near the pole ends on the tent, and re tie the cord on the pole hood. There is a slider thing on the pole hood cord, think that this is used to slightly tension the cover on the tent!!

Why didn’t terra nova give us proper instructions with the tent!
