As someone who has a full powered ebike, I’m unsure if you need more power as I can easily spin my back wheel on some singletrack climbs.

The only thing I would consider is to allow an increase in assist to 30kph, especially for road bikes. 25kph isn’t probably enough to keep up with roadie mates.

As for mtb’s, 25kph is probably enough.

I remember sanding my finger in woodwork class back in the day!

It hurt but I learned my lesson!

When I looked this morning on the Met Office App, it was predicting rain to come in late afternoon and evening. Which is what happened where I live.

Don’t get me started on the BBC weather App, that is totally inaccurate and shitee.

Yes there are the mtb marathon series – the terrain is dictated by the location of the event.

The events do seem to have dwindled less and less over recent years though.

I think a lot of the younger generation are more attracted to uplifts, ebikes and enduro racing nowadays.

I live locally and we did it last summer before it was official.

It’s more of a gravel ride than a mountainbike ride in my opinion.

If doing it over 3 days, I’d stay in the George 3 in Penmaenpool or head slightly off course to Dolgellau, and then stay in Betws y Coed on the second night. The only thing is that this leaves you with a long second day.

If you are not carrying your supplies, maybe take a mountainbike and ride the Climachx, Coed y Brenin and Marin trails along the way, as you pass them close enough. Maybe then though you will require more than 3 days!!

I think the original vision for the buildings was wrong. Why have the two buildings and did they need to be so eco friendly.

I personally would have built a much simpler building (eg Llandegla) and maybe invested more in developing the trails instead.

It would be interesting to see how many families go there and use the more tamer blue and green trails?

Then again, I have never seen the Marin trail be so busy. It’s difficult to park there on weekends after 10am.

How many people in mainland UK would give two hoots if Northern Ireland were cut off from the UK?

    I do.

They want to be part of the UK and not the EU and we need to respect that.

Russia can’t even take Ukraine so no chance for them to make it further into Europe, they simply haven’t got the forces nor equipment to do so.

They may use a nuclear bomb, but France and the UK also have them.

I bet the NATO countries have learned a lot from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – they are actually weaker than I thought.

How high are you on about?

Other one is how hilly is the course and are you pushing yourself?

Llanberis up, Rangers and Telegraph Valley down.

As said, Llanberis Path is busy as it’s the easiest path up and down, Rangers Path is not so busy and there are quite a few tricky/push sections along it (unless you are the Athertons maybe!), Telegraph Valley is now suitable for gravel bikes.

It is a nice one to get ticked off on a nice sunny day, but will involve either a very early morning, or late evening.

However I agree with stevedoc, hiking the snowdon horseshoe is a better experience than riding Snowdon.

Everyone, except Jaz, have no idea!!

If Jaz survives to the final, he will get Paul and Harry. It’s the other traitor, cannot remember his name, I’m unsure about at the moment.

Better for Jaz to just vote for others at the minute to keep the traitors off him.

    Thanks all.

There is a dent on the rear wheel arch, so that will require more than paint. Otherwise it just looks like deep scrapes on the side of the car.

As said I’d think you are looking at around £1,500 minimum, probably more. I don’t want my mum to pay out that herself to avoid insurance costs, we’ll see what the insurance says.

Its a Vauxhall Astra – webuyanycar valued it at £2,400 – in good condition!

So yeah if it was £500 a panel, plus repair to the arch and alloy wheel……

Be careful with India – I get so many phonecalls from Hotpoint to BT to Microsoft saying I have a problem with my appliances or service and wanting to help.

Unfortunately my washing machine is a Bosch, my internet provider is Sky and I haven’t used my personal computer in years!

Sorry – i have the nortec fast micro. The neon yellow ones

I have those as well graham; they seem to come up a bit small in my experience. A size Large (to fit size 42-44) is a very tight fit onto my size 43 running shoe.

I will have done just over 4,000km or 250hrs – average 5hrs a week, which doesn’t seem much though! Majority are mtb rides.

    Thanks crossed.

I was looking for one with a powermeter, but am unsure what is currently on my bike in terms of bb width.

I may just get a pedal powermeter – or crankarm – may be less faff.

Do any ebikers accept that using a motorised bike is generally less beneficial to your health and fitness?
Or is it just not talked about?

It allows me to get out on ‘rest’ days – days I otherwise wouldn’t ride, after say a hard ride on my normal mtb.

Fitness is an important part of cycling for me – but I do have an ebike which I use on easier/rest days.

I have just done a trainer road workout tonight, so I’ll take the ebike for a spin tomorrow, maybe concerntrate on more techy trails.

Pick a day when it’s not icy – I wouldn’t chance it otherwise in the winter!

Quite a bit of snow here a week ago, thawed by last weekend.

Telegraph valley path is now a gravel path.

The off road depends on the type of tracks as well, you will cover much more gravel miles on easier tracks, compared to trickier singletracks.

Roadbike miles to singletrack mtb is easily 2:1 distance wise for the same time/effort.

Can I ask out of interest, do you snack every day and what do you usually snack on?

My first thing to try would be to eliminate all sugary snacks, and just eat fruit as a snack on special occations (ie if you need something after a ride).

I tend to skip breakfast, eat a salad and tuna lunch and then a more normal, but sometimes unhealthy dinner. My problem is the snacking, which I am working on!

I think its irrelevant – you will have to adjust your technique though as I find it easy to wheel spin on techy uphills.

Off topic slightly but I bought an Exposure MaxxD a month or so back, the singletrack discount more than paid for a years subscription!!

If you work over your contracted hours, are you paid for this? (Either as extra leave or overtime).

I think that a culture of Hours as required rather than a specified time is always going to be to your detriment – unless of course you are on a very high wage and it comes with the job.

I also think the issue is snacking and processed foods.

When we were kids we’d be out playing football, cycling etc. Today I think it’s more about xbox’s and social media.

However, many more adults cycle today. The Marin car park is always crammed on weekends, when I started cycling 20 or so years ago, it was never like that!

I have just tried disconnecting the bluetooth and reconnecting the Trek app, but still doesn’t work. The bike’s bluetooth does pair with the phone bluetooth, and the bosch flow app works fine.

For some reason the Trek app doesn’t connect, not does a garmin edge 830.

If they just appoint a Plusnet engineer – I’m sure they would sort it! It’s getting access to that engineer that’s difficult.

I have tried a generic router and Openreach also tried a spare router they had. I am reasonably confident it isn’t a router issue.
