Ffestiniog railway from blaenau to porthmadog for a rainy day.

There is a go ape place / cafe on the outskirts of betws.

Llechwedd attractions in blaenau ffestiniog for the kids.

A walk up to llyn elsi in betws, picnic there?

Surely thats a design fault though?

Hearing a lot of negative things about warranty and evil bikes.

Dont think racing ralphs were the right tyre choice for those downhills. Still enjoyed it including the thunder and rain!!

Reminded me a bit of the dyfi as well.

    Myfitnesspal. Helped me loose 2st.

I find it easier to loose weight without excercising, as excersising always makes me hungry.

They are good for boiling water fast, so good for rehydrating meals and tea/coffee. I have the ti version which saves a bit on weight.

If you want to be more adventurous with your cooking then jd go for something else like a standalone burner with seperate pots and pans, something like a primus spider.

Ive gone from a 26″ to a 29″ and now a 27.5. All x1 model anthems. All great bikes.

Yes i did the 45k as well. Didnt find it too bad, thought the course was more about the climing than the downhilling.

Well done for doing 65k in that wind.

So all thats required is to put up a new frame and fix the doors?

If so labour seems a bit expensive. I had a lot of woodwork done in my house. Im guessing that is at most a days job for two?

Dont know about the cost of the doors.

Ps im not a carpenter so could be wrong!!

Gwydir is my favourite forest, always drier on the ground than cyb and penmachno.

Picnic in a backpack at llyn elsi would be one of my choices for someone new.

For novices better stick to the green and blue trails. There is o lot of forestry road in CYB and betws y coed that you could cycle around, or the afon or minatour in CYB. Dont think Antur or Penmachno is suitable for novices, youll either put them offf cycling or they could get injured.

Try the minatour ir afon at cyb, mayby the easier sections of the red as pink heiffer if confident, or a spin around llyn elsi in betws y coed (some fitness required but not technical).

Not really surprising that elite sportstars are on the gear.

Ive just bought the 27.5 1, plan to do some marathon events on it this year. Its really good spec to be honest with factory fork and shox and xt components. Upgraded the wheels to crests. Ive come from a 29er anthem x1 and had a 26er x1 before that.

£1300 sounds a little on the cheap side to me but if the company is reputable, id go for it. Make sure you get the depth quoted and there is some kind of edge restraint/upstand to surface up to. 100mm depth is more than adequate for a driveway.

    Sorry for your loss.

I lost my father to motor neurone a few weeks ago. He was also at home with family. Not once did he complain either.

    Some awful diseases about.

However the district nurses and carers were brilliant with us. The only thing that isnt working is the out of hours care when you want to contact a dr to come out but it not serious enough for 999.

Thing is, once someone blames you it is very difficult to trust them again. Unfortunately I have come across this quite often.

I prefer to just own up if its my fault and learn from it.

Is it the LT or normal tallboy your going for?

Ive been thinking of one for over a year now, together with a whyte but havent pulled the trigger yet.

Ive got a blur lt and maintenance isnt an issue, just grease it once in a blue moon and its fine.

Anyone know whats the rear triangle like, any flex etc. I see there isn’t a bar/link between the chainstay and the seatstay, as there is on my blur?

Could you rod/jet it to clear it? (Or has the pipe itself broken?) I had something similar with a blockage and got a company out and they did it for £150.

If he isnt trading not sure what you can do.

    Where abouts do you ride?

Im also looking at this one with interest.

Id like a sc 5010 but cant really justify £5k for one.

Im not that fussed about weight, well as long as its under 30lbs. The whyte gets good reviews and has some good components on it.

Difficulty now is that no one (or not a lot) seem to want a 26″ bike. I have a 26″ blur but its worth more to me to keep it than sell it.

Maybe its more about belief than truth, if you believe something to be true then youll search and find all kind of information to back up your belief (whether it is actually true or not)!!

I had three new ones installed in my place, nothing fancy but cost around £2,000 each, materials and joiner.

I think you can buy cheaper versions from BandQ for around £900 but you still need to install it.

The £2000 didnt include removal of the old staricase, that had been done before.

I ride my local trail centres with the performance dual compound (nobby nics), no problems at cyb, marin etc.

You cant really take strava times too seriously as there are so many variables, people go out to ‘hit’ just one section for the kom, drafting, group/bunch riding so average speed is high compared to solo, electronic epo or whatever its called, no difference between mtb and road bikes on roads, mayby electric bike times in the future….

Me. Did it whilst trail running last year. Also had the xray as you.

Cant remember exactly but took around a month for me to get back to light riding. It seems fine at the moment, back into cycling and running now.

Get some bars off ebau and screw them in on the inside. A shed will never be totally secure but it helps.

Im faster on my xtc29 than the anthem 29, except for rougher stuff.

Im doing around 55min each way, so near enough 2 hours per day, which is quite a lot tbh. By bike would be a nice route but that would be 2hrs each way.

    About double what you think.

If you have the time, you should do all the prep work, so the hacking, clearing and so on.

Then only use the trade for putting new in.

Thats how I did it, although I did do a lot woodwork, tiling and plasterboarding myself.

I spent more renovating than i paid for the house itself.

It took me 2 years, working around 2 nights and one day per weekend per week on average, but it is a largish house and i hacked back to the stonework, replaced all floorboards, new insulation, ceelings, sand/cement/replasterand, new electrics, new plumbing, 3no staircases and so on. It probably would have been cheaper to new build, with getting the vat back.

I’m not a solicitor but do deal with solicitors letters at work quite a bit, especially when people don’t get their own way.

Dont be alarmed by the letter, without knowing the basis and detail, if you can share the costs with someone do so if need be – again depends if a response is even required?

Thats a good price, id go for it.
