Going this weekend – meeting my brother whos over from Oz with his boy, thought it might be a good thing to go & do but not convinced 140 bike/beer tokens is worth jumping the queues when it's only 45 to queue —- so long as queues aren't for hours!!

Had a 5.5evp then a "faux bar" 5 spot which imho was a better ride but unfortunately got nicked so now have a DW spot which again imho is better riding than both!! I don't ride a great deal in the granny gear, not because i'm superhuman but because there aren't hill round here steep enough. When i have used the granny i've not found it any worse than any other bike. & as david says they're built straight which is more than can be said for the 5.5 evp!!!

Decide whats wrong or how you want to change. Wheels n tyres is always a good place to start. What forks? probably the next thing then drive train & finishing kit.

I once got bitten twice on the same ride, within a mile of each other. One was more a playfull puppy labrador nip at the heels – been walked by a couple of fit ladies so wasn't really bothered!!
The second was from a dog that belonged to a fella that i'd met several times, both while riding & walking my own dog, i'd stopped for a chat & think that the sound of cleats clicking in to pedals spooked it – was a good job i had longs on as it left a hell of a bruise.

    Lardlover.
I found that pedal stroke seems very smooth with the Q's, more even power & sprint power seems to have a more constant power (even with my legs) certainly better on the hills too.
I quite like the parlee & you got some lovely bits on it too!! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!!

Black marks can be bleeched with oxalic acid solution BUT I think it's harmfull so not good for worktops. Lemon juice will remove black tanin stain from fingers after scraping / sanding tanic timbers but not sure it works on wood!!

I wouldn't do Oak – too open grain AND if you put anything Iron on it when wet you will get a nasty black stain from the tanin in the timber! Same goes for mahogany type timbers.
If you must go timber I recon Maple or Beech are probably your best choice.
BEWARE – they are fairly high maintainance – they will need to be re-oiled & will mark & scratch. The plus is that re-finishing isn't too difficult.
If you're after a more rustic look they're fine.

Yeah I'm with Jimmy! "Whore's" spaghetti although i prefere it with penne.
    OOOOORRRRR
Smoked Salmon, sauteed shallots, pickled green peppercorns, a little rosemary, parmesan & creme. TOTALLY Fantastic
    Easy,
Sautee shallots in a little butter & olive oil
    Add rosemary & peppercorns
    Add Creme
    Add Parmesan
Then last add shredded smoked salmon
Stir into Penne or similar & serve with more parmesan!! & a nice red!!

Ok Not really diet food but WTF occasionally!!

For what it's worth, GO TITANIUM, IMHO Carbon is for Road bikes – It doesn't like being crashed, You WILL crash. If you're looking for a bike that will last, it's your best option. Doesn't have to be US made!!

Sorry – wasn't being judgmental or suggesting it's a bit warm. However it is a bit of a dodgy listing. Perhaps someone on here has accidentally misplaced their RM "downhill" bike in the Notts area. & it has now been found!!!!!

    Natural strand woven.
Anyone mention the enviromental advantages of bamboo – i wouldn't want to cut down trees for my floor – was one of the contributing factors that made us choose bamboo!
I put some down in our extended dining room.
Everyone who sees it thinks it looks fantastic – & yes it has to go under the skirting boards etc.
Mr darcy…. IMO it does resemble some "cuts" of oak & especially the colour is very similar to what i would expect european oak to look like. To qualify this i should mention that i was until a few years ago a furniture maker specialising in one-off contemporary freestanding furniture & used lots of natural oak – always european.
In fact the sw bamboo looked more like oak than the oak flooring did!!
I was told that the strand woven is more stable than strip – can't comment.
