    I am Pie-Curious.

I’d eat it, but don’t ask me to call it pie.

    +1.

However being the wrong side of 50 and dragged up in Shropshire I can honestly say that the Toupee Pie is a newish imposter (never saw the like back then).

I remember the first time I witnessed one of these and the feeling of total disappointment, betrayal! I’d been lied to, duped into thinking I was going to get a proper pie. (where’s my f**kin pastry!!)

I blame the health conscious brigade trying to healthy-up the pie by removing 70% of the pastry.

But why bother when you’re gonna have it with proper chips (or buttery mash)gravy and token veg (peas, carrots whatever but not broccoli – has no place beside a pie)

    Oxford dictionary “

A baked dish of fruit, or meat and vegetables, typically with a top and base of pastry

    Cambridge dictionary “

pie meaning, definition, what is pie: a type of food made with meat, vegetables, or fruit covered in pastry and baked

    Obvs regional variation!!!

As this picture of the legendary Cow Pie at the George Hotel in Keswick clearly shows, its pie, chips and gravy that are the essential ingredients. The other bits are just added as a sort of garnish, to add a splash of colour. And you wouldn’t eat them as that will fill valuable tummy space that could instead be filled with more pie

Broccoli again…Must be a northern thing….Peas…could get away with peas at a push!!

That ^^ is obviously not a Pie….You don’t put a Pie on a plate with Roast spuds

HAS TO BE MASH OR CHIPS (PROPER CHIPS)——IT’S THE LAW!!!

AND BROCCOLI— WTF –NOT WITH A PIE

Being a dog owner and poo picker it really pisses me off the way some fellow dogers!! will either leave it for unsuspecting folk to tread in or bad it an chuck it in the hedge/leave it on the path.

AND why is it acceptable for cats to shit any where but dogs can’t?

Ah idea….I’m gonna take my dog to the cat owners garden for a shit in their flower borders/veg patch!!

Local Pub has Pie Night – went the other week – lovely Steak Pie but with only a Pastry top!!! Does this mean it’s a “Partial Pie Night” or a perhaps a “Not Quite a Pie Night”

TBH although I like a proper pie (pastry encased) the pastry top “Part Pie” is obvs the healthy option and avoids heart burn (the older I get the less I can eat pastry 🙁

Autocad is a pretty dated bit of software. 20 years ago it was cutting edge and got a massive head start and became an industry standard. Since them several upstarts have come along and do things far better especially from a 3d design point of view. Autocad still does a few things well and is still massive mostly due to inertia but I’d be looking at a different package especially if you have an interest in art and design. Each field seems to have its own preferred package so maybe look at what industry you’d like to end up in.

I agree in part with this and it does depend on what you want to do – AutoCAD is still to a degree an industry standard.
It can be tedious….this why I went freelance so that I can also start making furniture again….got fed up sitting in front of a screen all day!!

I don’t know the field you indicate that you would like to work within, however what I can advise is that you need to have a good knowledge of the trade you intend to do drawings etc for. I’m in the Furniture/Joinery/Shopfitting trade (production drawings, surveys & project management) and have seen quite a few very good “cadies” fail because of lack of in depth understanding of even basic construction techniques.

You get that too…..bloody annoying eh! Decide to wash up to help but in reality wash the knives etc that you’re using (must be hereditary as the wife does it too)

Anyone have any experience of folding doors? We’ve a small-ish study where the door opens into the space where you’d be sat, so were considering a folding door.

But in my head I’m imagining something horrible, wobbly, ill fitting that jams a lot.

Regarding Folding Doors – I’ve also had experience with these. If you get good quality kit they shouldn’t be “wobbly, ill fitting that jams a lot”!! Also need a decent quality door.

Does MTBing need sexifying now the hardcore roots have been taken over by a bunch of middle aged fancy frothy coffee fuelled whinging IT types with over analytical minds?

GotamaThose Acre Supply Shorts look good if rather expensive! Where are the available in the UK?
So….back in the day pretty much ALL MTBERS WORE LYCRA. I remember my first Baggies (Fox I think) they felt weird at first and looked odd IIRC! So then Baggies became more popular and fitted better – they either had integrated or removable padded liners. Then I started riding on the Road and discovered Bib Shorts OMG what a revelation…far more comfortable than the crappy liners supplied with Baggies!
So for me its Baggies over Bibs – baggies will help in a crash as they can slide over the lycra.

you should be ok with all 272’s IMHO although some might disagree!! To make life easier compensate on initial lacing by winding nipples on to 271 spokes a little further.

Spacers above & below so you can get the fit right for “normal riding” but you can raise up a little if you go somewhere that’s more downhill orientated.

Thanks for the replies. Personally, I think it looks pretty much like any other dropper. As for the lever, I rather like the idea that it doesn’t need to pressed in any particular direction for it to actuate and that in theory it can be mounted in any position.
@ goodgrief….where do you have the lever mounted – top or bottom of brake levers? Seems to me that mounted under levers that it could be operated with thumb rather than finger?
And yes, there seems to be a lot of problems with Reverbs & Ks Lev looking on here and other places.

As said above…don’t sand the rotors just clean them….check alignment of callipers. Also a smear of copper grease to the back face of the pad (mating surface with piston) might help but be careful not to get on the pad

There’s always a fox on the trail when I’m out on my bike..

    BOOM BOOM!!

On a related note.. This morning I forgot temporarily that we have a small fox coloured patterjack, so I jumped out of my skin when she was waiting for me in the hallway, thinking for a second that there was an actual fox in the house

Nice looking hound there @ Yunki
    Patterjack?? Patterdale/Jack Russell “hybrid”??

    Comfort
    Ventilation
And not necessarily in that order!!??

Good side cutters will go through gear and brake outer first time, pretty cleanly. I use CK ones, and have a half round file handy to take sharp edges off too, and a little awl for the plastic liner.

I completely F****d side cutters cutting inners (long time ago now!) and found that they didn’t cut outers too well either as tended to crush and/or split.
