I was an android die hard until i got an iphone as a work phone and got used to using it. quit the job so the phone went back. My Samsung Galaxy died after a couple of years so bought an iphone 8. This was I guess over 4 years ago and it’s still doing just fine. I dropped it while in Mexico and it stopped working….whein i got back home i popped into the local apple shop and got it fixed. It was out of warrantee but only cost a few quid to replace the screen! I just looked today to see how much to replace the battery…49 quid which I don’t think is too bad tbh. All in all my iphone has served me much better than and previous android I’ve ever had!!

I have a Burner, great bike but considering going back to a hard tail because of the trails I’m now riding and the Turner is possibly a bit overkill!
It’s a real shame they not making FS anymore and a shame if they’ve been taken over!

Another thing with Turner is that you can still (afaik) get replacement parts (bushings etc)

Ohhh yes on pizza with capers & olives.
Mmmm Spaghetti Puttanesca (whores spaghetti)Chilli, anchovies, tomatoes, garlic, capers & olives. What’s not to like!!

I was in Portugal a good few years ago and went to the local beach bar that served good fish…asked the waiter about a particular fish on the menu…told me it was Anchovy…seeing the quizzical look on my face he explained that this was the size of a Sea Bass (as apparently they do grow bigger when not in shoals)…it was THE BEST Fish I have ever eaten.
But yeah Anchovies rule of all types.

    Aubergine Parmigiana (Melanzane alla Parmigiana)

One of my favourites…yum…Make sure aubergines are cooked before layering though. (I brush with a little olive oil and cook till golden brown – sliced at about 10mm thick they will cook down to half that)

Wholemeal Wrap with Chick peas, hummus, chicken, a token amount of salad, Habanero chilli sauce and a dash of plain yogurt…was still hungry so a slice of home made wholemeal bread with pepperoni and mozzarella – working from home so the fridge can get raided quite easily!!

    Oh and Linns are overated!

    😆

Trouble is that there are so many variables with them these days with various upgrade options….Perhaps they’re a little sensitive to being set up correctly…but still beats most IMHO. A Badly set up LP12 will sound a bit off

Not tried these….But I tend to wear Bib Shorts under baggies anyway as I find them more comfortable – they do tend to be a bit “slippy” though at times. These Enduras look interesting though and maybe won’t be as slippy.

Although thinking about it soft white bloomer with a nice chewy crust would also be very acceptable!

I’m in the Soft White Toastie bread, butter S & V crisps (Sensations!!) and extra mature cheddar camp – actually the cheddar is not really necessary. Oh and beer helps too or a nice cup of tea!!

Did someone say they’d never had a crisp butty……Very sad!!! Where are these people from (somewhere south & posh perhaps)

Does it have a lid and bottom of pastry???…thought pumpkin pie was just a tart!!

Nope, it’s so we can get more meat in the pie dish, where as you lot down there fill yer bellies with cheap pastry. Miserable sods.

    LOL
If a Pie has no base it’s no more than a TART on it’s back (which doesn’t sound that bad tbh! 8O)

‘Cause they use a mix of thick tomato puree and water (with herbs, sugar citric acid and thickener) for the sauce – and not that tin of sloppy wet tomatoes that for some reason people insist on using at home

I cook down a tin of chopped toms with a clove of crushed garlic, chilli flakes, oregano or thyme, salt pepper and a tsp sugar – give it all a mash with a spud basher half way through – just cook ’til the required consistency is reached.

    Yes absolutely!!
My eldest did one after A Levels because he wasn’t 100% confident to get his grades and not 100% on which course to do….he got grades anyway and accepted a course at Sheffield Hallam – Spent the year redoing one of his A’s to increase the grade and worked in the local pub!! The working on the pub bit did him the world of good – saw all sorts of folks in various states of inebriation but best of all it really “brought him out of himself”, made him mature into a fine young man (not that he wasn’t before).
If second son wants to do the same he will be encouraged to do so!

Oven needs to be on full wack…as hot as possible….Italian phd student of Mrs Dusty says to do what amateur advises…bake base & tomato “sauce” for a few mins before adding topping.
Yeah I fancy building a wood fired oven too!!

Post mount I think looking at google images so you can get a post mount adaptor 160 to 180 and will need longer bolts if mount doesn’t come with the bracket

@dusty trails – that plinth is superb. Makes my 30 yo grooved afromosia look rather worn..!

    Thanks @ourmaninthenorth

It replaced a fluted Walnut Plinth also rather old (about 27 years)- had it from new but a bit like triggers broom now!! Took it in to local specialist for an upgrade & service and asked about new plinth….How much!!?? Conversation went ….I could make one of those……really, go on then.
So Shop dismantled & gave me old one to copy (had a top plate to fit) and 2 weeks later new plinth delivered to shop – reaction was WOW! so fitted and looks & sounds great. Ended up making some for shop just before crimbo.

I think we can make an exception to names of pies that aren’t defined by their ingredients. That is to say, a pork pie is a pie with pork in it. A shepherd’s pie does not contain shepherds, and similarly a cottage pie generally does not contain cottages.

Ie, “shepherd’s pie” is the full name of a dish that is not actually a pie, in the same way that an Eccles cake is not actually a cake.

I think you’ve just hit the nail on the head…Well done that Man

Thank God (Cougar) that one’s cleared up

We all know that the best kind of pie is a Steak Pie?

… and the best kind of steak for a pie is Scotch Beef?

Wonder what the people who promote Scotch Beef think of the whole pie issue?…..

Common Pie-makers mistake forgetting to put the bottom pastry in the dish (probably rushing because the photographer needed to go home for a proper pie)

Or may be this is a north of the Border thing (and not wanting to stereo-type) saving a few pennies by leaving out the lower casing of pastry!!
