The VI, IMO, is a very nice bar. Feels right.

To my flatmates joy, 1 leaning against the couch and the other leaning on the dining table. I told him to build a bridge.

They're not that bad to bleed, I did it fine with a DIY bleed kit. Had loads of problems with them, sent them to the distributer to get fixed. They didn't fix the problem and their "bleed" was shockingly bad so had to bleed again myself.
I've got 2 pairs on 2 bikes. They're cheap and they slow you down and I like the lever feel. That's why I've still got them.
More powerful than nines? I wouldn't say so. I've been using nines for ages and I don't think the difference between the 2 is hugely noticeable.
As for mounts, aye use the old ones.

I got 1st pair off CRC for £70 odd for the pair and 2nd pair from Merlin £70 odd again with no rotors. For the money why not.

Neil, seems you're missing a few bits on the old ride there…

Certainly not Statistics and the Evaluation of Evidence for Forensic Scientists by CGG Aitken. It's a right bore…

I've had mine on since before Christmas, pretty much every day and certainly every ride. We went 7 weeks without heating, an absolute life saver.

And in fact I've got it on right now! Haha! What a mink.

I'll refrain from making garden comments as mine is much worse

Good job though! DIY tools are great.

Ach, mine aren't the same either but they're off to Hotlines to get sorted out soon anyway – so the Gringo will have to stay quiet for a bit while they're away which is a shame as it's a blast of a bike now that I've given it some gears… A wise choice I feel.
To be honest, the only thing I like about the Strokers is the lever as they're pretty rubbish at what they're meant to do.

Richard, do the carbons have a different bleeding procedure than the Rydes? I've managed to bleed the Rydes with a DIY bleed kit, nae problems.

I haven't had my merino wool base layer off for the past 6 weeks!
This is our 2nd year in the flat and he's been alright with us until the upstairs shower started to leak to downstairs (it's a big 2 floor flat) – which still hasn't been sorted! That was about 5 months ago.
There had been various people at our flat having a look at the boiler and they all said different prices, I think what took him so long is he was trying to hold it off until he got a good price but 6 weeks is just not on.
I'll ever so kindly ask him again for some dosh and if he says no then it's off to the council I think.

    Thanks for replying everyone!

Jumping? Ha! Nah nah, just the odd pedal along a Sustrans or something, nothing major.
I've never agreed with pi$$ pot lids unless you are a skater/bmxer but she seems to have her mind set on it and it's far better than nothing.
The Skylas look alright and come at about a fiver more than the Bells and a fiver for some ventilation is worth it.

I'm just trying to get her into biking gently, canal paths and such. She thinks it's cute, so it's a winner with me and the reviews seem pretty good.

My 1st and only ride of the year was on a stolen kids bike (stabilisers and everything!) down the street. I did return it to where I found it. It was new years day and I was still drunk, best ride I've had this year though!

Good, because I'm skint enough as a result of giving him far too much money. And after buying a new frame… but that's a different matter all together!

    Blast!
Ok, so we didn't test the system on a weekly basis but it's a bit irrelevant as when the system failed, the alarm sounded anyway and had been working prior to sounding.

Surely, still it's his responsibility to provide working alarms.

Trail_rat: guilty. Aye its an HMO.
The thing is, our landlord has been really good to us until a few months ago. Another good example is he took the fire extinguishers away a few months back to get them tested. Surely the tester should come to our flat?
He's a bit of an old fart to be honest and the language barrier obviously doesn't help. I don't think he knows that he's liable for the costs. I'll more than happily tell him that, just can't be bothered with him getting annoyed at us. Saying that, we've done nothing wrong; he has by trying to charge us!

Ta for the replies everyone. I've said there is no way I'm paying my share of the £100.
Kit, the only reason I was looking at 1987 was it's in the lease.
Italspark, they're mains powered (with a battery backup) and the batteries were fine. It was a constant ear-piercing beep. The faulty one was replaced, and another was found to be very very quiet so that was replaced too. To be fair we do have 2 showers but going down to one is a royal pain! Written instructions? Don't be daft! :-)

Williams Bros is the only brewery left in Alloa and it's not even an original Alloa brewery! There used to be about 9 of them! Agreed, they do brew some nice beers. Of note is:

Out of all the Post Offices in Glasgow I had a slight suspicion it'd be the Glassford St one.
Talking of Glasgow, I just spied Danny McAskill down Woodlands Road way!

That the one down on Glassford Street? I'd rather walk the extra distance to the one inside WHSmith on Sauchiehall Steet!

I’ve got 2 pairs of TLD XC gloves in Medium (size 9) and they’re bang on with standard glove site charts. I got myself a pair of Endura gloves in medium but they’re a wee bit smaller.
