Nope, 7psi is the recommended inflation pressure.

They were at 7psi. It was incredibly windy, bad enough to completely destroy 2 heavy duty gazebos.

My Quecha Air Seconds 4.2XL has been out in some vile weather, and shrugged it all off without any problems. Worst it’s been out in was a couple of months back in Dolgellau when I went to help out at the Pig Duathlon (which ended up cancelled due to the weather). Strong gusts kicked up during the Friday night that weren’t forecast and trashed the event site. I woke up at 4am with the top of the tent pressing against my face, but as each gust died down the tent just sprang back into it’s proper shape.

Terrible value, but I’m already planning on getting a 5X with my pay from helping at an event in October. Shiny toys!

There’ll be loads of first timers in a tri that distance. A few of those will be doing it breaststroke, so if that works for you go with that. Surf wetsuit will be fine for that distance to give it a go, no need to buy a swim-specific suit just to give it a try. Best advice I can give is go along to some tri club swim sessions for the next few weeks, and just keep cycling and running ticking over, and then just give it a go!

    Canon 400D + battery grip
    Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens (non-IS)
    Canon 50mm f1.8 mk2
    Canon 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 IS STM
    Kodak 80-210mm f4.5-5.6
    Sigma EF-500 DG Super flash

All pretty cheap stuff. The 10-18mm is a new addition, really liking it. Always loved the 50mm, had it for ages. The 400D is a bit long in the tooth now but it works, and running 400plus firmware is much more useful. Really wanting to upgrade to a newer body though with liveview, flip out LCD, video capability and better high ISO performance.

Balls, I’m in Wales on Monday night otherwise I’d have been well up for this. Will keep an eye out for any further road based MNPRs!

Well that brings back memories. Met Krusher when I was living in Wales a few years back. A mate of mine died, and turns out Krusher was his brother so he was up for the funeral. Great guy, shame to meet under those particular circumstances.

Only husky owners I know are very responsible owners. Lass I’m seeing at the moment has 2, and is involved with a rescue place that deals pretty much exclusively with them.

They do like to dig though. And are only every off the lead either in the house, or in a field that is used purely for letting dogs run around as they’ll try to catch anything, including squirrels, birds, flies… As pets they’re soft as owt.

Event I was at with my tent got cancelled, partly down to the fact that the wind was so bad that I woke up several times to the tent roof being pushed against my face… The poled tent on the campsite didn’t cope so well.

Think the new 4.2 XL is that price, which has the blackout bedrooms and a few other new features. The previous model is still available for £280.

Looking at the forecast for the next couple of days I’m glad it’s the tent I’ve brought with me…

My 4 man Air Seconds 4.2 XL is my solo tent when I want space at an event if I’m either taking part or marshalling. Plenty of space to sit around and talk rubbish whilst getting drunk out of the rain, get changed and so on. Feels like a place compared to the Banshee 200 that I use if I’m short on space…

I’ve got the Air Seconds 4.2 XL and it’s a great tent. Goes up quick and easy, plenty of space, and has stood up to some fairly horrible weather. Just been to get it out of storage ready for a trip to Wales this weekend.

Having been into the city centre a couple of times this week, a couple of things have struck me.

Firstly, the police officers from all corners of the country have done their respective forces proud. The armed officers patrolling the city have all been happy to talk to very nervous looking children, give them hugs, pose for photos and generally make people more comfortable with their presence.

And secondly, St Anne’s Square has been full of people yet amazingly peaceful and quiet. A very touching place to spend a few minutes and reflect on things.

I’ve pinched that graphic Binners, as I’ve decided to try to raise some funds doing the Lakesman triathlon in a few weeks time. I wasn’t going to bother as it was a personal challenge, but as a Manchester resident even if I can add a few quid to the appeal then it helps.

So if anyone feels like chucking a few quid in, here’s my JustGiving page, and I can assure you I’m undertrained and overweight and it’ll be a long, tough day.

Went to the Trafford Centre last night to watch a film, and driving back home along the M60 the signs saying “Major incident Manchester City Centre, expect delays” made it seem so trivial. Thinking at that time what that incident was choked me up. A good mate of mine is a Family Liaison Officer for GMP and it seems the last couple of days have been very tough to deal with for him and his colleagues. Others have said it already but to anyone involved in dealing with the aftermath, thank you and look after your own well being. Stay safe out there, and don’t bottle your feelings up either. Find someone to talk to if you need to.

And to any of you who have been affected in anyway by it, however big or small, you’re in my thoughts.

I once had the pleasure of being knocked off my feet by my own van. Had parked up infront of a car, nose to nose. Whilst getting stuff out of the back of the van I feel a sudden pain in my legs, and next thing I know I’m lying on my back on the road. Woman had got into the car infront, and turned the key whilst her car was in gear. Her car then lurched forward into my van, which rocked back and the rear bumper sent me flying.

LapSteel, sorry to hear you were caught up in it, glad to hear you’re all safe. Best wishes with coming to terms with it and as others have said, it’s OK to not be OK.

Binners, sorry about your young colleague. Best wishes to all of you impacted by it.

Apologies if anything I’ve said has seemed petty, and for contributing to the squabbling. The well-being of all involved is the most important thing.

I can guess why he posted that, molgrips. And also why deviant agreed with him. It’s because they’re not particularly nice, tolerant or understanding people.

I’m hoping my fellow Mancunians manage to be more tolerant over the coming days and weeks.

Don’t be such a ******* moron deviant. People just weren’t going to immediately jump to conclusions before any actual facts were known.

Also had the snapped banjo string. That was a fun few minutes stood infront of the doctor with my pants round my ankles. My mate who gave me a lift down to the surgery thought it was hilarious though.

Also lying there, pants down being given a good grope after finding a worrying lump. That wasn’t embarrassing though, the terror of what I might be told at the end did away with all that.

Was presented with a bottle of Bumbu rum in return for standing up in a church and lying in order to become my nephew’s godfather. Just cracked it open tonight to give it a sample, and it’s not too shabby.
