I’ve loosely said 2 weeks, but as I’m not very experienced at this sort of thing, it could take a little longer, not really sure and don’t have any real time constraints.

I’ll be heading across to pedal up the Velodyssey, solo, mainly wildcamping.

The idea is to stay away from traffic, swim in the sea a lot, ride up French canals and through pine forests. Apparently it’s not all tarmac so could be nice riding with no gerrt big mountains to get over.(maybe next time 🙂 )

The restorative properties of Chimay, and Leffe are well known so will be regularly re-fuelling and heading for 100km a day, roughly.

That has got to feel so good. 😀

Hiding things from kids like that, not a good idea. Unusual circumstances they’ll cope with. Having some big secret kept from them will blow things out of proportion when they do find out.

I’d mention it in a casual kind of way and then be keen to explain and follow up any questions they have.

I have a similar bike, Pastey Howler and have fitted it with an Old Man Mountain rack, not particularly cheap, but with a good reputation. Held together by your skewer and brake bosses. Also went for a rigid Surly Troll fork, so have fitted front loaders too. No disk/heel issue on my size tens.
