Seat looks too far forward to me, do the plumb bob test. Having the seat further back will allow your hips to swivel forward and give a better back position. It will stop you hunching up over the bars which gives pain to hands and shoulders, neck and back. As you get lower your arms can relax and it actually takes the weight off. (opposite to what you’d think)

I’m no expert, but have been through the same process with my bike.

It seems as if there are a lot of ‘bikefit gurus’ out to butter up us Mamils (as that is where the sales are) and tell us to raise it all up to make it comfortable when really it just scrunches us up, places more weight on the sit bones, makes your arms lock out to hold yourself away from the bars instead of relying on the natural resistance in your core which easily takes the weight off your hands when leaning in.

I’m a similar height and build to you and a I’m on a 56 Supersix Evo.

£200 for advice about sitting properly on a bike is ridiculous and shouldn’t be encouraged. Good luck

I get what you’re saying Robdob, on my other bikes it would me as well.

The roadbike has such skinny tyres in comparison to what I’m used to so I like to check the pressures anyway.

Yak, that’s not the updated tyre you have been blowing out is it?

I’d heard about dodgy sidewalls on the previous model, but nothing bad about the newer series 2 model

Will have to look into latex tubes, never tried them.

6ft, 90kg, so as my weight comes down, as it is quite dramatically since I bought the road bike, I’ll be playing with the pressures, a bit. I have the Col De La Madone on my doorstep so good tyres are well worth it to me.

Saw a guy in Nice yesterday riding a full size one down the main road, gave a cheery wave as I pedaled the other way.

When I was seven I kept the myth going for my younger brothers who were six, five and four. We used to sit up listening for sleigh bells (and waiting for my pissed up parents to fall asleep properly) singing ‘When Santa got stuck up the chimney’ and such like, in a whisper.
Gave them an hour or so then went for the full on raid, lights on, which bin bag has my name sellotaped on it.

Your child has never been properly starving, that’s great. When I have been, I would eat an ISIS fighters flipflop. Work back from that

All in, what do these things generally weigh? (I know you’re not supposed to talk about these things, but humour me, go on)

All this stuff adds up you know, PlanetX, currently off the list. I know internet opinion is not always accurate, but as an internet sales company, that is what we have to evaluate….Looking elsewhere for the new roadbike as I live abroad and won’t risk the f’ups. No replies on STW does not inspire confidence

I will add that prior to setup I had read somewhere that the adjusters on the caliper were not worth bothering with so I just made sure they were wound out, clamped up the brake lever, tightened the caliper bolts and cable and then used the barrel adjuster to get them spot on.

I bought your brother’s off him and have had no problems at all, it’s really quite steep around here and I weigh about 14.5 stone. (180 front disc)

I haven’t used them in the wet though, so will be watching this to see which replacement pads come out on top.

I saw the e-prix around Monaco trackside and it was quite good. The batteries are clearly a huge issue that won’t be resolved any time soon. The course had been shortened but the screens around the place showed how the drivers were rapidly running out of juice.

The F2 cars on the Friday were something else altogether.

Is it just me that gets’s quite concerned that the powers that be have no control of the powers that be.

I felt the same when the pensions went tits up.

Some serious money involved and it took action by the Americans to bring it to a halt?

Our neighbours lad had a 50cc runaround, then passed his test. He then went out and bought himself a z750cc kawasaki. Hardly used it and then left it to rot on the drive as he was to scared to use it. I wouldn’t do it
